I've missed the cottage. Yes, I can see the walls, too. When I was a child, we would play a game where we would build the area of a house, castle, or battlefield. You had to remember everything, or you were stuck . You had to have strong insight and imagination.
I'm the same with reading blueprints and floor plans. I know with me it comes from my parents having built a few homes. My mother started by finding a plan she liked and then designing something similar. The first time, she studied hundreds of plans until she found "the one". Then she got to work completely redesigning it to be what she wanted. She understood how spaces work and flow, etc so she got it just as she wanted it, then took it to an architect to have the final plans drawn up. She even figured out the exterior elevations and drew them, too! Then she met with builders and moved forward. I loved watching her work and she'd include me in as much of the process as I wanted.
When I was 11-12, I lived in an area of new homes and my best friends and I would "tour" the houses as they were being built. Even then, I could read plans and recognize layouts and picture the finished rooms from just the framing. It was a lot of fun to watch them as they were completed and the floors, plumbing and electrical, and the walls went up. Being kids still, even though we were sort of in between, we'd pick out our bedrooms and we'd decorate them in our heads.
I think you learned to visualize and conceptualize at an early age for some of the same reasons. With your Mom always designing her own homes and spaces, you watched and just picked it up organically. Sure comes in handy!!
I don't remember hearing Kinsley bark excessively. It's actually been over a year - last year's Vlogmas - since I can remember hearing her. And, even then, it was mostly because a few people were crazy on the subject, complaining. It hadn't bothered me at all. I find her totally adorable and sweet as can be. Good grief, people need to get over themselves - you have a dog. 🤷🏼♀️ Will they also complain when the baby cries or fusses?

My mom and I could look at a blueprint and walk through the house and put our furniture where it should go!!! I loved that I could share that with her!! Yep. I have great visual sense. I can build and design anything in my head and make it 3D. It's my version of counting sheep when I can't get to sleep. I so appreciate you having that ability. I think it enhances your projects and videos. I can also taste in my head. A chef friend says that's also unusual.

Cannot express how much I love Texas vlogs and videos. I'm really excited about the LA kitchen Reno! It's going to be such a transformation. My parents did their kitchen almost a year ago now and it took around 2-2.5 months to finish I think (they sanded the floors in the main floor and had the whole main floor painted as well though).

😁 I also have the ability to visualise non existent walls etc, but your right not many people can do that, when I first realised (many years ago…probably about 30 years ago 😬) that not everyone has the ability to do that, I was amazed, I just thought everyone’s brains worked that way 🤷♀️🤣

It was wonderful seeing the cottage. Wish you had shown the rooms alittle slower, but it was great to see. We were with you from the beginning from your excitement putting up the first wall. I love DIY and I always have since a child and when I found your channel years ago my mind was blown and I started documenting all the ideas I wanted to tackle at home. When I started to share this with my husband he was seriously intrigued and wanted to join me in the DIY journey. Through that journey my sentences always began with…Macenna said or did it this way or that way…it wasn’t until recently where he finally responded…oh i did what macenna said and she was right! Lol i wish I would have recorded that. I walked away smiling, you have a profound influence on people with your design advice and how to get things done right!

It’s much easier for other workers to see the hands on binder than a tiny phone. However if they want the can add things to their computer or phone.
I love the cottage, my fave home, but I'm super excited for the kitchen reno in LA. It will be so great to enlarge and open up your kitchen and make it larger, so great with a growing family! The guest house will be gorgeous! What's this room for? An art studio for Mom, but doesn't she have guest rooms in her large home? Just not understanding the complexity of this build.
