I had my first, and only, baby at 37. They told me I was geriatric too and high risk. It was all perfectly fine. She is now 23 and a professional dancer in NYC!!! She moved a lot too, so maybe you are having a dancer or an athlete!!❤❤ so happy for you! Welcome to the world of pure joy, then worry, then pure joy, then worry. ❤❤ It’s the BEST!

I was high risk for both my pregnancies. My oldest is 31 and the youngest is 29. Idk why the say 30 is geriatric? The problems that I ran into my mother who was 15 when I was born ran into.
I was 41. It went fine.

I actually got upset, and and heard my grandmother's voice saying, "Don't You Dare Drop That!" Hahaha! I'm not even into collecting and chinaware (stuff dropping gal, here), but my grandmother was, and she would have given an earful to anyone who didn't take care of that set.
MaCenna's videos are always such a bright spot of the day. I am so grateful that she isn't pushing herself too much, and is just focusing on staying healthy for herself and her babe.

It’s called “scanxiety” and it’s real. Folks dealing with cancer definitely experience that and it is exhausting. Definitely give yourself time to rest before and after. Lotsa love to you

That ladder is a classic fruit picking ladder
I think you need to be looking for a lighted globe and a telescope for the nursery. You have all of those great windows and that would be a perfect spot for a telescope as baby boy gets older. Love that everything is going well for both of you.

I bought my grandson a light up moon 🌝 on Amazon. Just a light in the dark that shows the craters. Now he's older he uses the brighter colors, red, blue, green, purple at dusk.
I just adore watching Macenna, and Romeo, and then coming down to read all the beautiful love stories in the comments as women reflect on their own motherhood journeys and gratitude for the relationship with their husbands.. the cherry on top and so refreshing! My first baby was moving so much that our ultrasound took 3 hours and we weren’t high risk. All she wanted to show was her face. Everytime they’d go to measure something important, she’d flip and show her face. Now that she’s 3, it’s so funny that her personality is so similar. She loves to take pictures. This second pregnancy, our daughter had her legs completely crossed. Refused to show her face, I had to do some laps around the office to get her to move just so we could get a small glimpse of her face.

With you talking about your 5 month ultrasound it reminded me of my 5 month ultrasound in 1977. I was working at Los Angeles County Hospital as a RN. There was a OB-GYN Dr walking around the hospital looking for pregnant nurses, one for ea month of pregnancy. He wanted us to go downtown for a seminar to train Drs how to use ultrasound machines. We showed up in a banquet room of big hotel ( can't remember name). He had us drink a lot off water and for two hours we laid on beds in cubicals and a hundred or so Drs came to ea station to see and try to find each part of baby.. They were all so nice and respectful and it was so much fun. Of course we were draped for privacy, but to see the faces of the Dr when they found what they were looking for. It was a hoot, and believe me I needed to go to bathroom bad at end. I didnt want to know my baby's sex as I wanted surprise on delivery. My intuition was girl and she is a great daughter. I always joke with her it was her first photo shot.

Of course he's perfect!😊 I was 36 with my second/last baby so i went thru all that high risk stuff. Tip: take a pony holder, put it thru the button hole of your jeans and stretch it around the button, gives you more room and stretches when you bend or sit! Oldest hack ever😉(unless your booty gets bigger, then it won't help😆) I love seeing Romeo around more! LOVE the ladder❤ Super excited to see the nursery reveal!!😊
I had my second baby at 36 and my third at 38 (both in Canada). I was never treated as high risk. It’s so odd how different countries treat pregnancy. Like, shouldn’t it be based on science? Are different countries looking at different data?
@@ang_131Here in the US we are told that the risk of having a down syndrome baby after the age of 35 increases significantly, so that is why there are different protocols than a regular pregnancy. I'm sure it is based on science. But yes it is interesting that different countries do different things.
It is called an orchard ladder. It is for picking apples , peaches, etc.

Emotional exhaustion is a real thing for sure. Plus as you lay down with a full bladder little man is pushed upwards and you are beginning to put increased pressure on your diaphragm and lungs. That will slow you down and tire you out. When really feeling it, lying on your left side is best, it takes pressure off of artery and ensures good blood flow to little bubbers. Rest lots my dear your son needs you to take care of yourself…your son MaCenna! Your son💕👶🏻🤰🏻

Yes once you release all that nervous energy and stress you are relieved and then feel emotionally drained which would make you tired and more relaxed. Makes total sense when thought about.

I understand being so excited when your baby moves. It gives you so much reassurance. I got covid during my 5th month and just feeling my baby move, I didn't care about the sickness. I was just glad she was fine.
That is cool the 18-20 week Anatomy Scan with Maternal Fetal Medicine Ultrasound Doctors, they are the big guns for sure!! Loved your finds that you found while out in the rain picking up the ladder!

Hey Macenna having your first baby is always nerve racking. You hang in there and enjoy this time. My youngest child was a high risk (geriatric) pregnancy because I was 39 when he was born. I didn’t stress at all because he was my 4th baby. Little boys are really special I have 3 sons, you have so much to look forward to.

Seeing MaCenna info dump is always a joy - seeing her THIS excited is utterly adorable. I may have absolutely no interest in motherhood, but seeing people light up when they share their obsessions is always a happy and beautiful thing.
My first son always reacted to the sound of bagpipes if they came on I'm sure he was dancing about in there.He is one of the most active people I know, his son my grandson is also happy energetic.

Your ladder is very cool! And your nursery is going to be magical. I happened to find an authentic old orchard ladder, which is perfectly chippy white. I have it in my living room, leaned against the wall with white doilies hanging from it. I love it!!

I had to get an ultrasound every week and i loved/hated it. I was hurting after every time because of the pushing and moving sooo exhausted but i got to see my babies so i pushed through it! Lol bittersweet ❤

Your ladder find is great. 22:53 We lived in a rural part of Ventura county and were surrounded by avocado and citrus orchards. These were the ladders the fruit pickers used, maybe still do. Narrower at the top to fit between the branches.

You may think this is a terrible idea but .... and I love the vintage ladder you found... but you mentioned that it might be too tall, but that you could always cut it down to fit. My idea... what about painting the ladder onto the wall? You can always use the vintage ladder in another space in your home?
That seems like a possibility if it's miles too tall. It's so pretty - it seems a shame to cut it down. Then again, I suppose things are meant to work for us...

I have several of the black and white Mackenzie Childs pieces that I bought for my mother when she retired, and when she went to assisted living, my cousin took them, but now they’ve been returned to me. I have no one to pass them to, or any friends that are interested in them, either. They still look new when I looked at them after they were returned to me. I want someone to enjoy them, but I’ve never tried selling something online. There’s a first time for anything! I’m so happy you were able to find those items at the Goodwill.
