Walther PPQ Subcompact Gun Review

  • The Walther PPQ is a known quantity in the gun world. It's proven to be a reliable and functional defensive handgun and stands among the top polymer-framed, striker-fired, double-stack 9mm pistols.
    It's never fit into a subcompact carry regimen, however, due to its size. Walther has now answered the collective prayers of gun owners with the release of the PPQ SC, and it's exactly what you might expect: a PPQ with fewer rounds, a shorter barrel, and a shorter girp. And it's a featherweight.
    An excellent pistol. Recommended.

    This gun conceals really well even with full grip. Very nice shooter. I love mine. No regrets.

    God, I'm so pissed. Saw one at Field and Stream the other week for $399.00 🤦‍♂️
    Looking at prices now on Gunbroker - would have been a steal!!

      Update: they had em back in stock and snagged me one, fantastic gun. Best double stack 9 for concealed carry.

    Just got PPQ m2 4inch. My 1st 9mm. Always used a 45 in service. Then as LEO G21. My 1st non Glock. For subcompact CCP or This.

    Another review that leaves us New Yorkers out of the mix. We matter too. We can only have ten rounds, but everyone always ONLY reviews the 12 and 15 round mags.

    What polymer handgun does have the best trigger in your opinion?

      @Philip Deppen isn't it a Walther clone?

      @Philip Deppen I'll have to check one out. I have the PPQ and the PPQ SC and the triggers are amazing...audible, clean break, short reset.

      @Philip Deppen interesting...I feel the same way about the Walther triggers. Anyway, their both great guns...the mags are even interchangeable. I think some of the slides may be, too.

    I would love to get one of these. Glocks in its 5th generation remains over priced for what you get. The same lousy sights and the same crappy trigger. With the Walther PPQ SC it comes with a decent sights and a trigger. Seems to me Glock should take some notes and learn to do what other manufacturers have been doing with out increasing the cost.

    What kept me from buying one is the fact that I cannot use my PPQ mags. Come on Walther, if Glock, S&W, etc can do it then you should definitely follow suit. Doubly so considering the cost of Walther mags.

      You can, just have to upgrade the spring as the slide is faster on this gun and the standard spring will not properly feed.
