    I use a piece of granite countertop and sandpaper up to 3200 to clean up the steal pump surface.

      I actually have used emery cloth on the pump side to remove small blemishes . definitely have to keep it flat .

    Thank you sir! The video was very helpful. I have an older husqvarna z246. I've been researching to buy a bigger zero turn, but this video is something to think about. Have a great day!

    I expect this mower will last several seasons with decent care. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend Also, I ran across the problem with it not starting the 2nd time I used it. There is a safety switch which is pushed in by the chute or mulching piece being attached to the deck. I took the cover off and it wouldn't start. Put it back on, no problem. It takes only a minute with 2 easily accessible wingnuts and no tools. This mower starts up first crank each time and it is a joy to use. It also mows in reverse by putting the key to the reverse area after starting and pushing in the triangular button. It will stay in reverse mode until you turn it off. All in all, for my homeowner needs, I really like this mower-and at 70 bucks a cut here in Miami, it's already more than 1/3 paid for itself in a month.

    I think they recommend changing the filter and 20w50 oil after 250 hours. Just getting ready to do mine for the first time. You did a great job on yours. If you took it in to have that done , it would cost a fortune in labor.

      This unit has no serviceable filter, One would have to split the unit open to drain all the oil out. I think some of the newer units have an outside filter.
      This was my very first video not the best production but if you watch the whole thing it tells the story. As I stated it was weak from 28 hours of use .

    You DON’T have to replace the motor block. Sand out the grooves on a flat surface with 600 grit or there about.

    • @oursweethomelife
      @oursweethomelife  2 года назад +5

      I did not have a block to get into the corner. Rather than to have to try to get the whole surface flat I took the safe bet and replaced the motor block . Better safe than sorry !

    I'm about to do this on a Toro 74360 z4200 it started to groan on me the other day and looked underneath and she is leaking from a seal on the sprocket on the break. Any advice? Thank you in advance sir. I'm in Oregon out in the country. Mine is the same side. Left. They say it's always the left because we turn left ?

    • @oursweethomelife
      @oursweethomelife  Год назад +3

      Oregon , While mine was the right side they are both built as mirror units. I would suggest you find the repair manual before starting the repairs. The unit will have to be cracked open, so make sure to thoroughly clean the case inside and out. Follow instructions. I will try to make a video showing pages from the manual for those unable find one of their own .

    I have a Husqvarna Z254F Special Edition that is 1 week old with an issue (box store not interested in making the sell good by not offering real help), but when unit is cold (not cold weather) upon starting there is no moving forward or reverse (while moving the steering/park brake arms)- the Hydro-Gear makes a whiny-grinding noise and after a minute or two of moving the steering/park brake arms the unit begins to work properly. Any ideas ?

      Sorry you are having problems with your new mower. I have never experienced this problem, so I do not know what could be the problem. I suggest you getting in touch with your local Husqvarna Dealer and see if they can help you. I am not a lawn mower repairman I just service my own and try to help others out with what I have learned. Thank you for watching our channel. Sorry I couldn't help you.

    Iam Thinking about getting a HusQvarna Z248F Zero Turn mower, are they good mowers, and how many hours can you get out of the Transmission.

    • @oursweethomelife
      @oursweethomelife  2 года назад

      I can't speak to that. This is my first zero turn. I would see what type of drives it has and then go from there. I hear this is a common problem with this particular drive . I have put about 6 hours on mine and it seems ok for now .

      I have an RZ4623 that we got used, and it has ~570 on the hour clock. I'm looking at the transmissions as it is weak/odd in reverse. Forward just needs some tracking adjustments. Biggest issue so far has been the spindles from poor maintenance before I got a hold of mine. (it's a 2012 I think.)

    Husqvarna 54" zero turn Will mow but the rear end is slipping. What is wrong with it?

    • @oursweethomelife
      @oursweethomelife  Год назад +2

      If it won't go, it's probably one of the drives. But it could be the drive clutch. You need to determine which it is. When you have done that, get a repair manual and proceed to disassemble. Follow directions carefully . If you need help, reach out to professionals . Make sure to get an estimate before proceeding . I would think they would give a quote for teardown and inspection . But hey that's just my opinion

    I have a Z254f and will go faster backwards than forwards 2021 about the same transmission when you crank it up it would go backwards on the left side so I zero that side in neutral now that side not as strong.

      Could it be that the idler pully needs to be lubricated? That is the pully under the seat cover with the spring. I took mine off and ground a grease groove in the shaft and then installed a grease fitting in the housing. I do not have this particular model so my mower might be different. ALWAYS PRACTISE SAFTY WHEN WORKING ON MOWERS . CONSULT YOUR MANUAL . Hope this helps.
      Thanks for watching

      Sorry I do not have a belt diagram. However, there is a sticker on the deck that shows routing of belts. I am sure that you can find one on the Husqvarna site. Hope this helps.
