Basically the Canadian barbie movies were the bomb but when it was sold to America they messed up big time.

They are childish due to the fact 8 to 10 year olds have phones, tablets, laptops, etc. to the point they won't watch Television anymore where Barbie could premiere because they have this compact device, another reason is they want to be "trendy" like watching James Charles, Joana Ceddia, Ariana Grande, K-pop, etc where they will think that just overall watching barbie is upright childish even if some we're not, giving the franchise the decision to make it more suitable for younger audiences.

Actually, I want to clarify something. The white horses with the pink hair in Pony adventure movie are NOT magical. They are said to have this... "Superior" skills, like more speed and jump power, and they are more intelligent too, all this by genetic, but they remain as a myth since they haven't been seen for a long time.
Barbie is a National Equitation competitor, and she's looking for her new horse, which is very important for her, of course, and that's the reason they traveled there, to her aunt's equitation academy.
She eventually finds the white and wild horse by casualty and after a bunch of things they become closer. Meanwhile, her aunt is having some economic problems due to the lack of students (real problem in many sport academies recently) and thanks to Barbie and her sisters' talent they get to save the place and gain attention by winning some inter-academic competences.
And in the end, Barbie is really happy with her new horse (since she's as good as the legend, and will surely get her a gold medal) but she doesn't want to take her liberty away (which she will if she takes her as a competence horse) so she lets her go.
If you ask me, this is the best "Barbie-and-her-sisters-kind" movie by far. Realistic, with good character development (cause you'll see new sides of the sisters too) and with good arguments too (and songs xD). I do recommend watching it, despite it doesn't have magic and fantastic things. I liked it a lot, and would have placed it higher in the list.

no one gets princess charm school like i do. it was my comfort barbie movie. i used to hate school not until i watched it back in my elementary days. it made me start loving school and romanticizing it... i remember how obsessed how i am with the "fairy companion" each student have and i used to be so jealous of their magical locker 😩 reminiscing it feels so nostalgic. planning on rewatching and see if its really that good since it is always ranked so low. tho it may be not as great as how my grade school self find it 😩😓

I remember watching Barbie: Starlight Adventure on repeat for days, over and over, after my dad died. I was 24 with a Barbie movie on loop, but something about the movie just calmed me, took me out of my pain for a little while and was just--I don't know, a great movie to enjoy with some escapism that isn't overly cheesy, but also has a happy ending (as expected).
Ahhh that’s me but with 12 dancing princesses. I’m 19 and that movie (especially the song Shine) really helps me cope with life
The Thumbelina one seems similar to The Bee Movie but without the creepyness between the main character and the human

In my opinion, the new Barbie doesn't teach u or inspire u to do anything. It's just watching Barbie with her problems that aren't relatable. Video game hero, puppy chase where she stayed away from her sisters the Hawaii puppy chase where she gets them stranded, spy squad where she stayed a loser the whole movie, secret door when she couldn't give have the strength to say like a sentence to a few girls cuz she wanted to read. And the message at the end of the credits on rock and royals was rock your own story....if I were a kid I would be like but u want to be someone else that's not rocking your own story. Stuff like that makes u not a fan of Barbie in my opinion

It kinda bothers me how modern Barbie looks more like Polly Pocket than Barbie lol. The animation got better but the old models were pretty neat and I miss them. The reason the prince had a Spanish accent in Barbie Mariposa is because the word "Mariposa" is Spanish for butterfly. Sort of a nod to the origins of Barbie's name in that movie.

the fact that ive watched every single movie you named shows my obsession with barbie 😭✋ i grew up watching them so even to this day ill sometimes have a little barbie marathon for no reason
Majority of the Barbie movies I watched throughout my life and I remember loving all of them and seeing them I just become nostalgic.
I really didn't like how barbie started to look like in the new movies.

I think the new animation is better. Her hair is more realistic, and some people say her eyes have gotten bigger but they really haven’t. Her skin looks less like plastic, and everything in the old animations were too smooth. But I also personally like the older movies, but not their animation.

The 2d and 3rd are legit my FAVORITE Barbie movies ever so I'm glad we have the same taste. Like omg. My favorites are them 2 along with "Barbie: A fashion fairytale" "Barbie: A fairy secret" and "Barbie: A mermaid tale" those 5 are my top favorite Barbie movies EVER
I actually grew up watching most of these movies, so this will be a nostalgia trip and probably a like for you!
