When are you visiting Hong Kong Disneyland!? Don't forget to plan with our travel guide! tdrexplorer.com/ultimate-hong-kong-disneyland-trip-planning-guide/
I loved my trip to HKDL! We went in mid April and it was wonderful. We stayed at the Hollywood Hotel and really enjoyed it. The Wondrous Book is a wonderful show and Mystic Manor is one of the best Disney rides worldwide! (I can say that now because I’ve been to them all!)
I’m There Right Now! It’s Amazing. It is the perfect weather since it’s December. We are currently staying at the original Honk Kong DisneyLand Hotel. I came here 8 years ago and now I’m reunited with my childhood!
Im headed there on the 2nd and 3rd of July. It's my first visit, and after reading the comments,im very worried about the extreme heat!! Im from Australia, which can get quite hot and humid in the summer. I hope their weather is similar! 😊
Super useful video, thanks as always. Your website is absolutely brilliant with so much advice presented absolutely fantastically, so thank you for playing such a huge part in planning for my dream trip and please keep up the good work.
We went there on a weekday last year we rode almost all of the extreme rides first then light ride after lunch because we anticipate the long line with the popular rides. And indeed go there on a weekday!
Umm im planing to go there thid month so may i ask how was rhe condition there? Because currently the weather in where i live is very rainy and i dont wanna go there if itll be raining
Summer is also typhoon season - which greatly impacted my trip to HKDL! But I did get to spend a lot of time in the hotels and agree that the Explorers Lodge is the best!
as a person who lives in hong kong now, i just wanna say that the weather has changed. Nowadays, i suggest heading there in december, january, february and march. the other months are too hot for me and most people. today, it was 26-32 degrees celcius, which is already insanely uncomfortable with the humidity....
Summer is REAL. I went once during summer and the heat is so exhausting that I had to leave the park early to get back to constant AC. Probably will go again when the castle opens :)
Since you can't make reservations online for the dim sum, did you just call? I'm hoping I can just call because I don't want to miss that. I'm going at the end of July and it sounds like I'm going to melt.
Can you clarify the priority passes when staying on property hotels? Cause I definitely did not get this perk. Is it only available when you purchase the ticket from the hotel?
TDR Explorer honestly!! I learned my lesson! I had such bad chaffing from wearing shorts too. Will keep in mind The cooler months! Thanks for the video!
UGH I've wanted to go to HKDL for a while but now that you talked about those WAIT TIMES I'm just ITCHING to get there ASAP. Especially now, being used to waiting upwards of 2 hours for rides at DisneySea, etc. Is Golden week a good time to go, or do you think everyone in Japan has that idea and heads to HK at the same time?
OMG You need to go! It's my favourite park to have relaxed time. I love Tokyo Disney Resort as it's the pinnacle of Disney Parks imo. With that said, it's an "intense" park with planning and trying to do things (that's why I wrote a whole book on it haha). With HKDL I can show up and feel like I can do everything with little planning (always have to do some right?). As for Golden Week, it'll be busier with Japanese visiting and you'll notice many in lines for the character greetings. For everything else, it's business as usual.
TDR Explorer ooooooooo I might make that my plan for next year then. I know flights are more expensive around that time, but I’m more into attractions than characters so I’ll be fine. (Though I’m always happy if I find a meet and greet that has a short wait, I’ll definitely go for it) I also agree TDR is the absolute shining star of all the Disney resorts, even being from Florida and being a former WDW AP holder, TDR 100% blows them out of the water even though it’s 1/4 the size xD
I live in Hong Kong and I have at least been to Hong Kong DisneyLand 3 times every year. My only regret is going to HK DisneyLand at Summer. It's so unbearable that it makes me feel sick.
would it be very time consuming to go into the crystal lotus at the hotel for lunch in the middle of the park day? (not planning on staying at the hotel)
I rode more rides in HK:OP than in HK:DL, I think it's because Disneyland's more popular in Christmas-New Year. Trust me, there are LITTLE TO NO visitors in Oceanpark when it's Christmas or New Year. Been there alot of times and it's A BLAST in there.
What I suggest is see the shows first and it should be afternoon the lines are short and after you might go on a ride or two there are no lines what is suggest is go to the lion king cause it takes 10 or 20 minutes and then go to the big show I forgot what it’s called but it used to be called the golden mickeys like if this really helped you !
what about early October? I'm planning go there around October 9th.. and actually I want to go there when chinese new year, but is it really crowd? Please answer.. thank you
I actually downloaded the official Hong Kong Disney App but for some reason, everything is in Japanese. (My phone is set on german and I'm from Germany) Do you have an idea why this is the case?
Would you say the summer is worse than Japan summer? I live in Kanagawa and i know how sticky and nasty summers can get here, can't imagine it gets worse (but.... does it?)
The summer is worse I found in Hong Kong. I think a combination of the intense heat and humidity plus the maxed AC makes it feel much worse. I'd take Japan summers over HK any day.
Don't buy premier access before your visit! You have to buy them the same day. Just wasted like 1000HKD on that lol. I think it's set up like a scam this way. They know a certain percentage will make the same mistake that I did. I wonder what that percentage is... oh well..
I know you said the best show is the Wondrous book but I would have to disagree and say it's the festival of the Lion King. :D If you like Frozen and Olaf a lot you will definitely appreciate Wondrous Book. If you enjoy a more theatrical (with some 'stunts')you would definitely prefer the Lion King show. This is my suggestion, coming from someone who has had multiple annual passes to HKDL! But of course they are both wonderful
That's totally OK to disagree! I love the Festival of the Lion King. It's a wonderful show and shouldn't be missed. I chose Wondrous Book cause I get chills and connect with it more on an emotional level. I'm definitely not a fan of Olaf and could do without it, but no show is perfect haha. YAY for Magic Access buddies!
@@tdrexplorer yessss thank you for the response :D I'm just glad this is a place where people who love Disney can talk about different things :D My profile picture is taken from HK Disneyland too!

october lah, Chris! 🤣
november💖
I’m visiting Wednesday
December ❤️❤️❤️😊
April 😁
30-35° Celsius is normal where I live so.. that ain't a problem for me.
Same!
The worst thing about being in Hong Kong is that it’s humid. Makes you feel hotter than the actual temperature
you cant stand humidity for sure🥰
Humidity is not a problem. I am from the Philippines 😅
It’s like living under the microwave, you kinda get roasted by heat

So no issues with protestors? Gonna be visiting in April
I'm going on Thursday,May next week. Its a field trip with my friends! Thanks for the tips!

I definitely want to visit Hong Kong Disneyland one of these days, thanks so much for the great tips!
That fountain behind you is so cute!
I agree with you 1 day is not enough. We were there last march 2019 and bought 2 days ticket. My kids love it 😊
Umm im planing to go there thid month so may i ask how was rhe condition there? Because currently the weather in where i live is very rainy and i dont wanna go there if itll be raining
THERE WAS WIFI IN THE PARK THIS WHOLE TIME?!?!?! Aw man! I could've searched YT for HKDL guides 6 years ago!
Summer is also typhoon season - which greatly impacted my trip to HKDL! But I did get to spend a lot of time in the hotels and agree that the Explorers Lodge is the best!

TDR and SHDL are both wonderful, but HKDL will always have a special place in my heart as the first Disney park I’ve visited with my family :)
Roz AR SEE YOU IN OCTOBER
Summer in Hong Kong sounds similar to summer in Florida. Orlando is already experiencing temps in the 30-35 C (90's F) range.
AJ17 the humidity is much worse in Hong Kong in the middle of summer from my experience.
Summer is REAL. I went once during summer and the heat is so exhausting that I had to leave the park early to get back to constant AC.
Probably will go again when the castle opens :)
Not probably, you will! hahah. I can't wait for the castle to be finished.
Loved this video!! Can you make a HK Disneyland food video? I felt a bit lost during my visit and everything felt much more expensive compared to TDR.
Thank you for watching!
Even local think those food in HKDL are expensive but is normal. Because half of the visitors are from China.
Also avoid times when schools are on summer/winter break cause they be swarming like mosquitoes
hope they reinstate the special passes for hotel guests.
Since you can't make reservations online for the dim sum, did you just call? I'm hoping I can just call because I don't want to miss that. I'm going at the end of July and it sounds like I'm going to melt.
Unfortunately i have to go Disneyland hk next week july 19. A Monday..
Yess the dim sum at the crystal lotus is so cute definitely do it!!!
I eat once before. They make me stomachache.
I have been to hk disneyland before,
Like more than 36 times probably
Thank you for all your great tips. You inspire me to go exploring.
Can you clarify the priority passes when staying on property hotels? Cause I definitely did not get this perk. Is it only available when you purchase the ticket from the hotel?
Thanks for these really helpful tips, Chris
Although you forgot to mention that buying popcorn buckets is a must
Peace from Tochigi
I went during May 2016 and I thought it was unbearable!!! Hopefully I can visit again when it’s not hot and humid!
If you thought May was bad, then the other months are worse! haha.
TDR Explorer honestly!! I learned my lesson! I had such bad chaffing from wearing shorts too. Will keep in mind The cooler months! Thanks for the video!
I'd usually chill in the pool in the late afternoon then go back to the Park once the sun starts going down! Thank you so much for watching!

I'm going next week and it's scheduled to rain all week=/ But I'm only going for one day...I'll be alone, so I hope I can cut queues.
Some of the rides allow single person to cut queues
I'Ve been living in humidity and on average kf 35 degrees all my life. No problem at all
would it be very time consuming to go into the crystal lotus at the hotel for lunch in the middle of the park day? (not planning on staying at the hotel)

When I went the longest wait was the line for a photo with iron man lol ( 40 mins)
Hello, I loved the video! I just bought your guide for TDR. Do you know when they will finish the castle renovation? Thank you
For hong kong how early can you book the hotel and park tickets. Like if im looking at for april/may year?
How bad do the crowds get around Golden Week?
Is the priority pass to attractions still available for hotel guests in 2023?
We did not go there when I was Hong Kong because they say it’s not that good... but Im coming back and will surely experience this!!!
Hey TDR i'm going in April and want to go to the Crystal Lotus how do you get here from the MTR Station and how far is it from the park entrance? :)
Why not include Monday as an easy day to go to Disneyland Shanghai?
What I suggest is see the shows first and it should be afternoon the lines are short and after you might go on a ride or two there are no lines what is suggest is go to the lion king cause it takes 10 or 20 minutes and then go to the big show I forgot what it’s called but it used to be called the golden mickeys like if this really helped you !
Great, we are scheduled for July! Maybe we should skip it?!
what about early October? I'm planning go there around October 9th.. and actually I want to go there when chinese new year, but is it really crowd? Please answer.. thank you
Is premier access the same as the fast pass you talk about in this video?
Pretty much except DPA is paid (not free like the former FastPass)
I actually downloaded the official Hong Kong Disney App but for some reason, everything is in Japanese. (My phone is set on german and I'm from Germany) Do you have an idea why this is the case?
Change the language in your phone’s setting😊
One big big mistake is summer... very true... the humidity kills
That's when I just sit in the pool and not do anything else ha.
@@tdrexplorer Explorer Hotel has the best pool though the beach design can use a wave generator to amp up the fun haha
Do they allow mirrorless camera inside? What camera did you use on this video?
Any camera that not too large. But no selfie stick and camera stand.
bagus banget vidio nya maaaantep hadir yimak sehabat ku yg baik semoga selalu sehat semangat 👍
What is the premiere language are they using in Hong Kong Disneyland? English?
Bayu Ermand Cantonese I think
Is it packed I heard it dangerous to travel in Hong Kong now

Well I’m going there next week on June 6-7
GOOD LUCK! It's hot, so drink plenty of water, sunscreen, and takes lots of breaks.

Do you have a video on best season/month to visit japan too?
That there is a purge
I live here
lol summer who cares 30-35 is the same so its ok for me and it also humit
I did this park on a layover lol
Doable but I don't recommend it (unless you don't have a choice then that's totally valid ha)
i also meet micy and miney for FREE IN A SECRET ROOM
👍❤️
If you could only visit one Disney park in China, which would you pick? Shanghai or Hong Kong?
Jenna Frickx ooh tough. SHDL is an amazing park with some amazing rides (Disneyland on steroids) but HKDL is more “homely”.
If you go to Shanghai make sure you go midweek. The crowds are really intense.
Ur wrong bye summer
Even in California, It's So Hot.
It's barabl lol

Was it worth it? Or is Tokyo better
