Why does the vehicle only have one small reverse light (on the left of bumper) and a much brighter manually switched red fog light on the right.....
One would assume with the Aussie Standards, it should have 2 reverse lights L&R.
Also the white reverse light would be best on the drivers side rear, when using the side mirror to view behind.
Personally, I think it is a design flaw.

Nice car, the ANCAP adult protection rating of 82% is the only real disappointment; not very impressive for a new design. Is all the safety tech on offer an admittance or at least compensation for the (relatively) poor crash performance ?

Would be nice if we had the 2.5 litre like the USA has

I thought that too, until I realised that the US version is petrol not diesel. They don't have a diesel version

@@michaelwalters1982 gt line does I’ve been looking at that one just waiting to see how many problems both models have before I decide which car to buy
Been test driving a fair few

@@sharons9367 The GT in Australia is a 2.2L turbo diesel. The USA has a 2.5L turbo Petrol engine. The US model isn't as good as the GT and is missing a lot of the high end features, such as electric seat memory buttons and electronic gear shifter. It's called the SX Prestige.
I bought a GT in March but doesn't arrive until late July/August, can't wait. Good luck with your purchase.

How do you shut the air vents - there does not seem to be any air vent shut/open wheels next to them? If they do shut - do all shut?

We bought a Kia Sorento in February 2021. For the last month we have nothing but problems with the car & the dealership at Robina QLD.
The gearbox jerking when coming to a stop from second to first gear at lights. Also in reverse it’s quite bad. The dealership has admitted to having this issue with a few customers but they somehow say it ok as that’s how a “dual clutch system” works. Wtf!!!!🤷‍♂️
The entertainment system & Apple car play faulty. It goes to a dark blank screen while driving & then nothing works. It happens spastically & the dealership tries to blame it on the cord. 🤦‍♂️.
So this car winning car of the year is obviously based on rubbish assessment.

Thinking of buying one, have you had any further issues with the transmission or the windscreen cracking?

Just look at the Toyota rav4 hybrid, the top selling suv in Australia. They just can't keep up with demand.
And what did the smart folk at Toyota do?
Surprise surprise they dropped the diesel from the range. Now that's a no brainer.

  • @tonykerry8326

Going with the diesel is a no
brainer he said. It's a no brainer for people who know nothing about cars, suv's etc and listen to this crap from a so called motoring expert. Once the hybrid comes out in the sorento and santa fe the diesel and petrol models will plummet in value.
In some countries in the next 5-10 years you won't even be able to buy a new diesel or petrol powered vehicle.
The future is hybrid, plug in hybrid or full electric.

Plenty of industry pundits and armchair experts say resale values of Hybrids will also suffer once full electric is available with decent range. Sales of the RAV4 Hybrid is no doubt helped by the uninspiring petrol engine options, the Hybrid clearly the pick of the litter, and the lack of many competing Hybrids.
