Man seriously that blind spot camera should be equiped on all new cars
Honda used to have it
This car is absolutely gorgeous
Definitely the nicest looking in it's class. The VW's are nice too but just a little bit bland.
*This’s the most beautiful car in the suv segment that I have ever seen* 💖❤️
I'm gonna disagree and say the Mazda SUVs look better but to each their own
@@TheTouchgaming And I would disagree with that. But not by much. CX9s are a bit boring as all Mazda's now look the same.
Car INTERIOR not that fond of the centre stack myself
@@TheTouchgaming CX9 is nice but boring. VW is the only thing that comes close when in R-Line trims but then again still a bit boring and that's a VW. I love Mazda design, but not on their big SUV's. 2, 3, CX-30, MX-30 are great looking but I don't know I am not a fan of the CX-5/8/9. Appearance is subjective, always has and will be.
AwesomeNoobPwns - Mazda CX line is quite elegant looking and while their recent face/butt lift does look more aggressive, they are still quite feminine.
Got my GT Line diesel yesterday. Love it so far. So much tech and drives really well. Getting around 9.5km/l in the first day but haven't taken it out of the city yet. This car has definitely changed my view of owning a European car!
It's built in Korea though
Thanks for the heads up. Jeez I better take it back then.
@@fcex558 i bet you would sell that x5 in 5 years of owning or before 100kms, and you lose 2/3 of its original value. It really comes to build quality after 100kms. Everything is like falling apart and bringing it to the repair shop would become your part time job
@@fcex558 good luck with the long term running costs of your Luxurious European car. The price of an European vehicle will increase once you add all the specs and safety features to match the same as the top flagship Kia.
You won’t have unlimited kilometre and 7 year warranty.
Your luxury vehicle will be lucky to last the same distance as the Kia.
Yes I’ve just bought one 5 months ago
Great car love it
Getting around 7.5 litres/ 100 km
Astonishing economy for such a large SUV
Just purchased GT package last week in pearl white. Ticked all the boxes for me as a family car
tell me you got diesel
How's it going so far? Considering one.
@@maal4609 you can only get diesel models for now. So yes I got a diesel. KIA said they're rolling out petrol in Nov 20
@@manishjain143 I haven't picked up my car yet. Need some fittings for the additional accessories and window tint. Hopefully it will be ready by next week
It's still a shitty "KIA" and will be worth under 15k in a few years.
I just had this car for test drive today and it is fabulous, I can not explain how happy I was while driving so smooth and smart cruise control made me believe that i can have a nap whiled driving and i will still arrive safely. It feels like if you want to hit another car it will not let you do it. Well done Kia
Kia have destroyed the market because of their luxury design. The people who DISLIKE this video are jealous and some own Audi Q7, BMW x7, MBenz GLE class or Lexus RX! Well done KIA👍!
What drugs you on ?
I want some comparing a Kia to luxury brands nice 😂👌🏻.
I am sure you will never anyone say look how wealthy that person is cause he drives a Kia 😂.
Bmw x7 to kia 😂 that's cute!
I have a Luxury car and would get this if had big family. Better than paying double the price or more just for a badge
Lamfo that's where your wrong go drive bmw x7 and kia and let me know the difference. Most ppl that can't afford luxury cars out of jealousy what they do bad mouth. There is miles difference between a kia and or luxury brand especially driving dynamics. I find people comparing against a kia. Out jealousy because they will never be able to afford one.
@@bobogettingstrangled8289 The point is, Kia/Hyundai is getting closer and closer to luxury brands in design and interiors very quickly, yet getting closer and closer in price slowly. Leaving other mainstream brands in the past. OP never said this is as good as a top of the line BMW X7 (which costs 2.5x more), but I and many others would definitely take a top of the line Sorento GT-Line with ceramic coatings, maximum tinting, preferred paint color, floor mats and some car washes etc for
@@jay-uo2bi fair enough mate. Interior perhaps catching up, driving dynamics compared let's say to a x5 different ball game not even remotely close.
Like you said everyday brand cars pricing starting to creep up to a very unaffordable price most people. The lower specs under gt Sorrento is quite expensive for a cloth seat car. At this price rather wait for tugian allspace next year which would very similar to gt Sorrento, but with a much faster engine and better tech such as VW drive assit autonomous driving. I just feel like this segment was sponsored by Kia.
The new King has arrived in this segment.
King ? it's a shitty Kia
@@hmaccas738 pity u live in the 90s. Nobody thinks that way unless u been stuck in the past. Name a company who can compete with the new Kia on tech, design and value and you would be hard pressed to come up with any.
@@sunnysunday4001 Because all your paying for it tech, design and value. It still has a shitty Kia badge on the front, Id rather pay more for a quality brand.
H Maccas another badge snob who got no clue about modern day cars and living in the past. go waste ur money on some hoonda badge instead. i think smart people have better ways to put that money instead like value and quality.
@@hmaccas738 You can buy a cheap BMW logo from China to replace it. Cost only $5, very nice quality. Double sided tape included.
Yes one if the best. I believe the Koreans are doing it better than the Japanese at the moment. Wish they were bringing the Telluride to Australia.
Freddy Skins and the Mohave.
Crazy if they don't, it would sell well here.
Richard it’s only built in america(West Point) for America.
We don't get the Telluride in Korea either, though we do have a new Mohave which is quite nice.
Korea is the new Japan.
I just did a test drive of the Gt line-disesel, yesterday. What i observed:
-Looks even better than in pics and videos, although the side view looks plain but it suits the overall muscular look.
-Interior was very porsche and very high end. Infotainment was very smooth and high resolution. Only thing i didnt like were the air vents, not my taste but wife loved it. If this had the interior of the new 2022 tucson it would have been perfect. My other small issue was the driver display, the blindspot monitor in the display was small and most times unusable, check this if you have impaired vision.
- The drive was almost perfect, the car had an intense acceleration. The diesel engine sounded mean and muscular. Very quiet inside the car, can only hear the engine at high revs. You feel the small bumps slightly because of those 20 inch alloys but on bigger bumps i felt nothing. 0-100 kmph was like 7 seconds. Car was giving 7-8 l per 100km mileage. Also, the car is ridiculously good on corners.
This is my balanced view,i loved the car, its a percect family car. I will be buying the GT line diesel next month.
This color is absolutely beautiful. Love this new Sorento.
Kia needs to consider more various interior color options
This is looking to be my next car, perfect for a family
Love the look of the new Sorento, Personally, I will hold out for the Hybrid model.
LOL at the guy at the end of the video wondering how the car move by itself.
On another note, this probably the best Sorento so far.
That what I call, taking the car for a walk. lol
I'll get one of these, decided
I wish KIA AUSTRALIA bring the 6 seater option and two tones interior
Great job guys. Love your reviews. I believe this is the best value for money when you need a flagship model with loaded features in that price range, especially with 7 years unlimited km warranty.
When are you buying and which color? Let me know so that we can get a deal for bundled package :)
And I'm not stalking you!!! :)
@@thegrgupta haha. Let's talk to a dealer
Yep just bought one and love it.
Simply the best . Loads of gear for the price and looks damn good.
Kia's game is hooot!
You found a use case for autonomous driving, amazing
Like (just about) everyone else, I enjoy the work this reviewer does. Not so much his colleague who just drove the cheaper model and did very poor work in my opinion. I'd be quite keen on this as a next vehicle - I miss my previous Kia because unlike my Subaru, bits never fell off it or needed replacing, plus it had the brilliant cooled seats. (But I was concerned that the jack wouldn't support my Rondo when I got a flat tyre, enough to call the RACV.) I am not a fan of diesels though, and don't like the idea of a 4WD that isn't a 4WD so the petrol is not a consideration.
Purchased and love this car! Power coated mag wheels on GT line to make it black on black & came up very sleek.
I just ordered the hybrid version as spirit line with some add ons here in europe.
It is the best. I am in the process of now ordering a white GT.
Great review as always. Practical real world advice. I like it. Kia is a real disruption in the Aussie market. I like the full sized spare, tech, layout and USB ports. There is never enough.
This looks lovely, I've been driving the older 2019 Sorento GTLine S, diesel, and I thought that was great, So I look forward to trying this model. One thought, if this has Dual Clutch technology and my model had 8spd Auto, what will be the towing weight.??
I am looking for 7 seating SUV.
Quite difficult to select one as there are more options in 2020.
1. Merc GLB 200 1.3 Petrol
2. Skoda Kodiaq Diesel R line
3. Sorento Diesel
Lot more..
What's your practical choice.
Fuel economy and practicality are important.
Blue colour would be ad on.. Only good blue colour is offered by Skoda R line and Merc.
Well done Kia..
Definitely one of best in the segment . However other market like Korea offers second row executive seats which is the game changer for lots of buyers. Unfortunately it's not an option in Australia.
Are the second row captain’s chairs really a feature? You trade versatility for……?
Looks really good
Great review Sam, love your work!
Why isn’t there a Petrol AWD version?
I just bought one. How are others finding it?
One of the best new features of the Sorrento you have missed, it now has decent towing capabilities.
I think the best feature is the lack of auto stop/start!
On decent towing capabilities...well the 2T is max without any significant payload. Which means, put the whole family in, add luggage and add the 200kg downball weight and you end up towing just a small camper trailer. I almost ordered one then I did a bit of reading and realised that the 2 tonne is max. In reality the best is prob 1-1.5t. Some small caravans probably fall into that category. Sad.
How can you look at this compared to any offer from Toyota, Nissan or Mazda and not come away sold on the Kia. Toyota just no longer represents any kind of value for money. They simply trade on their name. This new Sorrento is a winner hands down.
great, nice and detail review. thanks.
8:37 Not quite the first car to have USB ports in the side of the seats, the Hyundai Palisade also shares this feature.
which is better USB or airbags? Has no third row airbags!!
@@mikeykeyes surprising, considering other cars in the segment, that are 'older' and less expensive cars such as the Skoda Kodiaq have 9 airbags, curtain across all 3 rows and side airbags for first and second rows as well as driver's knee airbag.
@@mikeykeyes I would like my phone charged more then my survival.
Also he said that "I've seen". This is AU so they don't get the Palisade
@@gong9901 AU is getting the Palisade this year and it has already been reviewed here in aus (not necessarily by Caradvice.com.au)
"2021 Hyundai Palisade SUV confirmed for Australia | CarAdvice" www.caradvice.com.au/860585/2021-hyundai-palisade-suv-confirmed-for-australia/
Hopefully they are more quiet now as my wife's 2017 was very noisy and the garage kept saying it's the tires .But, I knew it was their transmission . A four cylinder in a big car like this ? No way ! 6 cylinder should be the only motor available .
A dual-clutch in an SUV? Interesting. Maybe a deal-breaker for me though. I got a friend with a Kona with the 1.6t and DCT, and a few months ago when sitting in traffic, the gauge suddenly showed up an error saying the temperature of the gearbox is high? We had to pull over and let the car rest for a few minutes before going on again. Such an odd thing to happen to a new car.
I believe this is a wet DTC so should cope better compared to the kona etc. and the petrol is a 8 speed torque converter so depends on what drive train people choose.
Depends. Do you drive in a CBD/inner city or in stop start traffic frequently? If yes, maybe not the best buy. If no, then this is fine. Anyways this is a much better DCT, this is a better 8 speed wet DCT. Also I have a Cerato GT which is very similar with 1.6T and 7DCT and have noticed the occasional jerkiness when pulling away at low speed on a hill (rare) but have never seen the temperature get high.
Also PLEASE, if you have a DCT (this goes for your friend too). DO NOT hold the car on a hill using the accelerator, hold the car with the foot brake, the car has hill start assist so pulling away shall be no issue (if you do this you will actually be able to SMELL the transmission). Also, in traffic, it is better to try to minimize creeping forward. Think of it as a manual, avoid forcing it to slip. If you can smell the DCT then your driving incorrectly 🤣
you want to know if we like it...well for me im actually considering trading in my current Sorento Platinum for the new Gt Line...thats how much i like this car. Just a shame that the Telluride isnt coming to Oz as that would be a sales winner
I love this car. Can't wait to get it but 5 month wait unfortunately
Australia gets a totally different engine lineup. The top of the line here in the USA is a 2.5L turbo I-4. 281 hp/311 lb-ft.
What a fantastic review. Very impressed in the way you articulate all components of the car. I’m taking my wife this weekend to look at this car deepdown this is the one I want hopefully we get a good salesman.
Thanks Robbo, good luck this weekend!
The sorento is the car to beat. Now if they brought in the hybrid, I would sell my 6 year old WK2 4x4 for it right now. As things stand, prolly in 3 years when Kia tries to shoehorn in a battery for the v6.
Agree. They do have a hybrid, but unfortunately it is not coming to Australia though? The new Toyota kluger hybrid that is said to come out here next year will be very interesting to check out.
Whilst the 1.6T hybrid seems under powered on paper, it is going to be much more refined the the current petrol V6 and MUCH more efficient than both engines offered in suburban driving.
AsakoKagurazaka thanks. Why do you say the Kluger will be dead? I was looking forward to it. Is there something wrong with it?
Killin It Again ( KIA )
Naa it's a shitty poor mans car a kia they ain't killing anything. This car looks cheap and plastic in real life.
it's sad to know that Kia Sorento does not offer all-wheel drive in its petrol engine version, which is indeed much smoother than the diesel engine....not sure if KIA will offer the same specs in the North American market.
Fantastic Review mate!
Wow want one!!
Would like to see a comparison between this and the Peugeot 5008.
The Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace 2.0 and Mazda CX-8 are pricier but would like to know if they are better as well
The Peugeot 5008 is a very good buy at the moment due to sales promotion, don't quote me but the drive away price I believe 60k and getting xlent trade ins because stock is at record lows, my Daughter is pricing one with her Grand Jeep Overlander as a trade in ... as for me I will be buying a 2021 Rugged X for towing my 22ft Van.
Barry Goddard none of them have the 7 year warranty tough...
The Koreans is coming strongly. I love this Kia.
Hyundai Sta Fe 2021 do the same, moving forward without driving.....cool
thinking about buying a GT Line DCT very soon, wondering whats the lead time from Kia to Australia, also what are the dimensions in the back with the 2nd and 3rd seats down, as we will use this to Travel Around Australia, any one know those dimensions please
Yup-- this is the best in the segment. If Hyundai gets a 2.5 liter and 2.5 L turbo, then I would go with the Hyundai. The Rav4 is nice for now. But I think most people for the money would take this any day. If they had the Mazda cx-8 or cx-6 in my country I would take the Mazdas as they're lighter and more like a car. The Rav4 would be the best if they made a GR version.
This is an amazing vehicle however the brand snobs will pass it up for Toyota who treat us like simpletons who don’t need the tech and features they offer the US. This is at the top of my shopping list when I change my car later in the year.
Way too expensive for a Kia despite how nice it is, they still depreciate in value fairly quickly. Maybe in time they will hold their value like other top brands but for now you better off waiting and getting this used in a year or two.
Actually, they don't depreciate in value that much because of the 7yr warranty with unlimited km's. I am looking for a Kia right now but there is a shortage due to COVID. Same with all other car manufacturers. At least 3 months waiting period atm...
I really love this one but im waiting for a new carnival next year
Only unfortunately Australia do not include DVRs systems... Over price too... Korean model has it all but Australia specs... Also no 6 seater... Hope future will come in DVRs built in.. As they have already 360 camera.. DVRs is missing... Diesels not so much power in the beginning but very quiet...
I would like to purchase one later in the year
For the price... it’s amazing. Looks great too.
Yeh 65k for a Kia is definitely cheap. I meant the badge vaule is all der same level as Benz 🤣 (Sarcasm)
It would be good to compare the Kia to Ford Endura since both are diesel and similar size
It looks like we don't get the captains chair choice for the back making it a 6 seater.
size wise, is this more comparable to a crv or a toyota highlander???
Is this gravity blue?
I'd buy it in a heartbeat if it came with cloth seats... I cannot fathom why car manufacturers think that leather is something everyone wants... and no, I don't want to buy a poverty pack base model.
Ameliana TSIIX plus the option of 18" wheels
Poverty pack tf 🤣
Looks great! Nice job KIA
V6 needs to be AWD! That would fly off the shelves like there is no tomorrow! Has anyone ever converted the V6 into an AWD? How much would be the conversion?
Agree. I'm not a fan of diesel.
Still prefer the Mazda CX-9 given the price tag.. Overall, it just looks more premium in the Mazda with less visible hard plastic trims.
CX9 has a crappy space saver spare tyre. I'd much rather make do with a bit of hard plastic if it means the safety of having a full sized spare
Color Name ? Gravity Blue ?
Why only fwd 3.5ltr in petrol "FWD"in Australia while US GETS A WHOLE RANGE OF OPTIONS TO CHOOSE. I read a lot of news and reviews about KIA. But how you got variants for Australian market is not appreciated. I'm not buying it until you bring a proper model
i hope we get the V6 petrol in Canada or at least the new 2.5t.
Hybrid AWD FTW!
Love the new Sorrento.Does it come with a tow bar?
No, you have to get an after-market one put on as with almost every SUV.
Premium fuel required for the petrol engine?
Yossarian...Let me tell you a little secret. NO Korean car actually requires premium fuel. The reason is that premium fuel is not widely available in the home market of Korea and so they design all of their cars to run on regular.
@@johnholst Whenever I go on the spec sheets of Hyundai or Kia models I always notice that most of their cars recommend regular 91. A few models recommend 95 but don't even require it. Yet it is common for Japanese cars to require 95.
@@jay-uo2bi Korean car makers in the US and Canada are under pressure to "recommend" premium gas for their cars. They don't do that here because they know it's not necessary.
John Holst have had check engine light come on in a Sportage when it runs on 91 for any length of time, goes out when you use 95.
@@davgpol We don't have that issue here. I wonder why?
That Park Assist feature you mentioned at the beginning - is that only available on the GT-Line? Does the base spec Sorento have this feature too?
NO, top-line spec only
Is this gravity blue color?
What color is this?
Gravity blue
Why do they not have a Petrol 4X4??? So they have 4 cylinder AWD and a 6 cylinder 2WD???
Why won’t Australia get the telluride?
Looks awesome
Hi, just picked up GT-line yesterday. Noticed the right reverse light was not working and took it to the dealer. Dealer tells me it’s normal that only one reverse light on left supposed to work while the other on right is fog light. Is this normal? Plus, ‘GT-line’ badge was missing in back of the car and is back order. Can you advise? Could this be destined for Europe???
Quite normal and very common in Europe actually, i have had 2 cars in Europe with those lgihts like that!
Remote park assist - I won’t be using this feature, if the the spot is tight, forget about it because if you can’t get in, the other driver can’t get in too and it will scratch Sorento...
True. Probably good if u have tight garage
Good for really fat people 😅
Does it have a sensor under the wheel arches? (Can’t imagine if you had your foot under there and had the car move forward)
obviously for nitwits like that there are those compensation lawyers to help out
Well it is up to the person holding the keys discretion to use this system. The car can see in front and behind but not under it or to the side. If you use the system while someone has there foot next to the wheel you are pretty dumb.
is it gravity blue color?
Is Apple Car Play also using on'y part of the screen ?
nope that one is actually full screen and resolution!
is the price in euros or usd?
Awesome looks👍
Its interior is better than telluride
I’m sold!
Will you be testing the new Sedona
The price please?
He says at 1:21. 49K FOR ENTRY, HIS TESTER 64K.
Nice 👍
Preety good
What is the Name of the Color ?
Shame the put the dct transmission in it though
Would still take a Skoda Kodiaq in Sportline trim.
Same car cs85 for drive park
It's a well equipped SUV but, Dual clutch transmissions are a pain in the arse......PERIOD!!! Waste of time if your commute is only in heavy city traffic or if you tow a lot, they are constantly confusing themselves with the wrong gear selection which results in very rough and severe changes. Should have a manual option for those of us that still like to drive the car and not have the car dictate terms to us.
Does it come to Canada any time soon
Alex...Canadian eh? This model was originally supposed to go on sale in Canada by November. But, it could be slightly delayed.
No wonder Hyundai had to extensive updates on the MY21 Santa Fe even though it's just a refresh.
Up until the bigger and better Palisade shows up to give the Germans a run for their money.
Relax Kia and Hyundai are one company
The Santa Fe is a refresh. But it actually changed frames and got a bit longer. The changes were very extensive.
