Do a test on the Nokia g300
When I first got my iPhone 12 I got it in an area that has mmWave Verizon 5G available, and the first couple times I ran a Speedtest the app actually crashed because of how fast it was😂 I was ONLY getting 2.5 down, that’s insane that you were able to get 4+ down with the 13. Loved the video!
Thank you. Austin!
5:00 they were all connected to N5. But Netmonster on the S21 showed your LTE anchor, B2 while the Pixel 6 on Android 12 was only showing the 5G band and no LTE anchors (although it was using LTE aggregation and N5)
Also, when looking at service mode for AT&T, there were almost certainly more LTE channels being aggregating but since there was no speed test running in the background, it only showed the main band + 5G band.
Love this information. Thank you, Zac!
With this new information... Does Samsung unfortunately drop the ball here on performance?
Love your videos very informative that's awesome information on different types of networks
Great material and information! Thanks!
Love your content! Keep up the amazing videos and podcasts!
Thank you, The Delaying Skipper!
4gbps on 5Guw. That is insane lol
@5:06 Now the whole internet knows exactly where Stetson lives.
What a great and comprehensive comparison. Thank you!
Questions - if I download movies or shows, is that going to use storage space. Does it depend on how much I download is how much storage I use? Thank you for your knowledge.
1 thing to keep in mind the low band Verizon 5g is actually fast in areas where LTE lacked faster speed from my testing.
That is good to know! Thank you for the comment, Michael.
Hey Stetson I forgot to mention that the Cricket’s $55 plan has gotten updated with no speed cap anymore
Yes! Thank you! Subscribed!
You are welcome, Tanner!
T-Mobile did a 5G carrier aggregation between N41 and N260 (2.5GHZ and millimeter wave spectrum) in Southern California and got 5 gigabit speeds almost.
It is all about the radio antennas built into the phone case. Remember the Apple "antenna gate" issue? Apple learned how to make the case antenna system better. Looks like the microwave band 5G (mmw) antenna outperforms Samsung and Google's designs. Stronger cell signals equals faster data speeds.
Can't wait for AT&T to release mid band 5g so we can see how their network performs. I mean if their low band is hitting 300mbps, then I'm guessing their mid band should be fantastic!
Lowband is not hitting that on it’s own, B66 and B2 are Likely Involved
I'm excited for mid-band, too! And I likely think the low-band 5G speeds were likely due to carrier aggregation on LTE as opposed to just the 5G connection.
Wait I thought they did. I’ve gotten faster speeds on my AT&T … maybe the area? Sometimes it sucks ass
Been seeing multiple tests on the pixel seems like it's capped to 2gbps on mm or uw
Yep 400MHz MMwave capped and the modem is supposed to support 800mhz
Question. What does the pixel 6 not pro have for a modem?
Can you please explain Ping and Jitter? So for example although Pixel and Samsung had faster speeds the first text in this video. The iPhone only had a Jitter of 2.4ms while Samsung had 4ms and Pixel 11ms. While the Pixel only had a Ping of 14ms and iPhone and Galaxy had 18ms. From my understanding the lower the Jitter better the actual connection. So even though the speeds where better on the Androids it looks like Apple had the best signal connection to the towers. Is this wrong? Is a difference between Apple at 2.4ms and Pixel at 11ms is that a big difference in actual signal/antenna performance? Regardless of speed?
Hey Stetson I just got my pixel 6 that I purchased through visible but I'm only getting 7 Mbps tops and sometimes less than 1. Needless to say, I've had a lot of buffering. Do you think this is due to poor coverage in my area or you think visible might be able to make some changes to give me better speeds?
Its your coverage mostly. Did you have another phone on visible? And what speeds were you getting if you used another phone on the network.
@@owezzel Have another on us mobile with Verizon coverage that gets similar speeds but was an unlocked phone from Amazon. Was thinking a phone bought directly through them might provide better speeds, also since visible is owned by verizon
@@mikke906 its coverage area then... I go through something similar with us mobile Verizon at my house lol but everywhere else its super fast.
I think 'Exynos' is pronounced similar to Ex-Eee-Nos
Oh my gosh I totally botched it and I had one job 😂
Got me to subscribe thank you
Denver, CO has some crazy 5g speeds, wow
My guess is the iPhone was able to aggregate 2 mmWave 400MHz channels and the other 2 phones' modems couldn't do that or it wasn't enabled, so you were getting a single channel, that's why the iPhone had roughly double the throughput.
Every mmWave channel is 100mhz in the USA.
So it is 8CA mmWave (800mhz)
Can you rerun this speed test when the pixel 6 pro gets the January update as the November update was limited to 400mhz of mmwave spectrum which explains why it was only getting 2gbps while the iPhone had double the speed
Glad to see the inclusion of service mode, you should also use filed test mode on the iphone. Did I just see n71 and n41 aggregated on the x60? As far as I know that wasn't possible on x55.
The S21 uses x60
i’m pretty sure that was one of the new features of the x60
Is there any point in leaving 5g on if there’s only a small amount of lowband towers within 50miles of me? Similar speeds between att 5GE and regular 5G
On AT&T I think you are best leaving 5G turned off for now. This will likely change once C-Band spectrum is deployed. No harm either way. I like having 5G on just so I can see where it is, but that may be just me!
¡¡Excelente video!! Saludos desde México
This is the first test I’ve seen where Verizon UW got 4Gbps! Can’t wait to see 5Gbps!

n258 band, airtel
India.
I have a 5G plan. I am using a Pixel 6 Pro with eSim. How can I check if I am really getting a 5G speed?
Great channel!
When Verizon says they have 50 Gb of unlimited premium network access data, is that per line or per the entire plan?
Per line
Do you live next next to a cell
Tower how are you getting good speeds
5G icons show as long you get a midband band on any carrier that's probably to avoid customers complaining about constant on and off of the 5G icon
I just found out the hard way that there is two versions of the Pixel 6 Pro, one with mmWave one without, and the one without has a 5G that maxes out at 3,000 Mbps, whereas the mmWave version has 5g that Maxes out at 5,000 Mbps. The only way to tell the difference as it does not say it on the phone, is the back of the box includes the following in tiny print "Not compatible with 5g mmWave." So if you bought one of these off Amazon like me, you may have been ripped off. If you complain to Amazon, tell them 'Simon sent me."
I think iPhone's antenna is so powerful that it picks up the signal so strong⚡
Good video. 5G features carrier aggregation. The challenge I’m seeing with the pixel 6 pro and the exynos 5123 modem is in handoffs and weaker areas. I lose service completely with the device on verizon in areas my 12 pro max didn’t.
That's great information! Thank you!
Also, with this being said could this change with software updates? Or is this just how the modem works? I'm a Vermonter, I always favor Signal Strength and usability over speed due to all of.the mountain interference with Cell Towers. It's the most frustrating part about living in Vermont and New Hampshire. I'm not a huge iOS user. Would you say the Pixel still suffices compared to older phones? I currently use an Oneplus 6T?
@@tannermichels5451 I get it. Our networks in CO aren't great either with all carriers historically struggling with lacking enough spectrum to be great. Things are getting better, but slowly. Honestly, the issue I am having is a deal breaker. I had an S21 that performed great and my 12 pro max was also better, so it is disappointing that Google is using a 2 year old modem. Maybe it can be improved with software updates, but who knows for sure.
Hey Stetson on cricket’s $60 dollar unlimited plan it’s says it has priority data
But Unlimited priority data
Yes! They just updated it. It’s an awesome plan.
Here in Australia we have the mm wave and the pixel 6 pro has his 3.9gb down and 400mb up.....lightning compared.
Those are amazing speeds!
Does anyone know why AT&T’s 5G is SO PAINFULLY SLOW!!? I honestly think my Verizon LTE was TWICE AS FAST! I mean thankfully when I’m at home I have AT&T’s gigabyte internet so I have zero issues there BUT when I’m out and about here in eastern N.C. It’s TERRIBLE REGARDLESS OF SIGNAL STRENGTH
Where did you find mmwave on vzw? I wanna test it.
Sloan's Lake Park!
@@StetsonDoggett next time I'm in Denver then
@@only1gameguru You have a Verizon account?
@@TomTom-gn9mp I have a Los line
I got my iPhone 12 Pro Max,i was buy verizon sim,so i sign up data 5G area, the speed was fast at sky,and in the house that is worse than in the sky
Do the same with boost mobile and cricket and metro 5G
What carrier do you personally use?
I personally use Mint Mobile. You can learn more about them on my website - www.bestphoneplans.net/carriers/mint-mobile
Whats wrong with my then I have a s21 ultra on t mobile and I got 20
You need to be in a T-Mobile Ultra Capacity 5G coverage area to see speeds 200Mbps+ on T-Mobile. Try checking their coverage map!
Also do Boost mobile hotspot plans
Do Ampere charge tests
I think my OnePlus 9 pro still out shines those phones in cellular and in every other aspect
I would be happy just to get 100 up and down speeds
:(
If you’re gonna do the pixel 6 pro instead of the pixel 6, you should have also done the s21 ultra and iPhone 13 pro or pro max
YO STETSON so i always get stopped by ig u would call them att reps at sams club what do yk ab them??
WHAT ARE THOSE OUTSIDE NUMBERS?!?! OVER 4000 DOWN?!!
iPhones will surprise you .. I’ve gotten up to 1152mbps on my speed test. Running IPhone 12 PMax on Verizon 5G UW . Whatever that means lol all of me T-Mobile new phones sucks in my area . I get peak coverage since I live in metro. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what you have. Every new phone is so fast. .. we got tons of 5G antennas
With them free phones you could have done a same network test with them 3 phones and done the same test then see if they come out the same results not 3 different networks on 5G so you can't really test the modems in the phone does all networks have different speeds because they different handset so the speed will be all off all together so there's no competition in network speeds so it's a unfair comparison
Wait, why you comparing the Pro version of Pixel with non high end Samsung or Apple
The S21 and iPhone 13 will have the exact same cellular performance as the S21 Ultra and iPhone 13 Pro Max, and it turned out those were the phones I had access to.
The unlocked Pixel 6 doesn't have mm Wave support. There are Pixel 6 models that have it but it's $100+ more depending on Verizon/AT&T
S21 compares with the iPhone 12, I hope you make this same video when the Galaxy S22 comes out
Should make a 2024 version
Verizon is slow lots of times when you have low band 5G and it's 4G is faster .
I switched to at&t and on at&t just like in this video low band 5G is pretty fast sometimes even faster than their 4G LTE . It's the opposite from Verizon . At&t is usually always faster .
I don't think they should call 5g, 5g if it don't reach the 5g speeds, it should have some other symbol.
This video is 100% paid by US Mobil. We have Unlimited Premium (Warp speed) plan and this is the worst experience we have ever had. We travel in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan. Even when we have 4-5 bars of signal, (only next to cell towers), we have 3- 25 Mbps/s. Most of the time it is 2-3 Mbps/s. We have 2 5G devices and one 4G one. All have the same poor signal, super low speeds. US Mobile seems to be a scam network as we paid for Premium account, and are not able to use it in 60% of the time we need it.
Could also depend on your plan too. Cheaper plans get de-prioritization
All of these plans were proper postpaid plans. I used Verizon Play More Unlimited, AT&T Unlimited Elite, and Magenta MAX.
@@StetsonDoggett okay thanks 😊 just checking. I wonder if Samsung is restricting a lot, especially since they do things with Verizon where you can't access menus 🤔🤔
You cant get an exact result because you test it together, i believe there's an signal interference there.
So the speed in 5G is worse than 4G in house:*
Not that it should make any meaningful difference, but just in case I think next time it would be helpful to compare "pro" to "pro" models, instead of say the newest highest end pixel 6 pro vs the "mid range" 13 standard
I appreciate your comment. Thankfully it doesn't make a difference. The iPhone 13 has the exact same modem and cellular performance as the iPhone 13 Pro, along with the same A15 Bionic processor.
Compare the iPhone 12 speeds vs 13
Great idea! Thank you, William!
@@StetsonDoggett No problem. I know my iPhone 13 with having the newer modem that uses carrier aggregation much faster with T-Mobile. 556 vs 270
iPhone is king when it comes to speed.
Pro phone against regular s21 and 13 not fair...?
Get 4GB/s as soon as I step out my apartment building at my university,. Once I go inside rip. Nothing lol.
Like legit, 1.01mb down and .07 up.
Me being happy with 10 mbps speeds in my area
This mmwave is a joke on Verizon if I'm within 800 feet of the tower I'm already getting 20mb upload on 4GLTE
Thanks for the experience that Verizon is very very fast
Exynos is pronounced “X eh no se”. Watch the Samsung videos on the Exynos 2100. I’m glad someone is at least trying to break up Qualcomm hegemony on mobile modem chips in the US.
My mistake! I mispronounced it! Thank you for the tip :)
@@StetsonDoggett Understandable.
Seems like the Pixel disappoints when it comes to 5G speeds overall.
The modem is from last year so that's expected it would be worst performance
