Is it compatible with a 16 gb ram? Because in pages it says that the maximum it supports is 12gb + 4gb that the laptop has soldered.

🫠Regarding your question, first of all, don't listen to most of the spec limits that the manufacturer mentions-they are not always correct. Check this video to see the max RAM capacity of your board:

If the limit is 32GB, then yes, you can install a 16GB stick. We've upgraded these laptops for clients with 16GB + 4GB onboard for a total of 20GB.

🫠Regarding your question, the option where you see the 4 slots is incorrect. Windows always had this misinformation about the RAM in the Task Manager. You have 8GB, maybe soldered on board, and an 8GB DIMM installed. So, I would recommend you remove the cover to see the RAM configuration.

I'm looking to potentially upgrade the ram on my ASUS X571G laptop. I opened it up per your video and there is no ram card in the slot, just the soldered in ram. I looked in my device specs and it lists 8GB installed ram. Is it still possible to add more in that case?

Regarding your question, as you can see clearly in the video i mentioned that there is only ONE dim available , NOT two.
you can ONLY place one stick of the ram not two. if you have a 8gb remove that and get a 16gb stick.

the higher the GB on ram you go on laptop especially on this CPUs old gens the lower the ram frequency get automatically because of the bios and the bios doesn't have a xmp option enabled so you can set your own ram profile.
so go with 2666 that is the most compatible at over 16GB.

Hi I've followed this tutorial but whit a new ram the laptop doesn't startup but without the ram works properly, there is any adicional configuración of the BIOS that i have to do?
🫠Regarding your question, your motherboard maybe is not doing a mem check, to force the motherboard to mem check, do this:
remvoe the charger and open the cover and disconnect the battery, then press the power ON button for 30sec and hold it, then let go and place the new ram in the dimm and connect the battery and then the charger and power on and wait up to 30sec.
@@uFixTek thanks i cheked the motherboard and apparently the ram port was damaged, the ram pines are a little bit fold, it was my fault, anyways thanks for the help your advice was very helpfull, i've already sended the laptop to fix so in some days will post updates 🤓

How come my laptop said my max capacity is 6710884 that means it can support up to 64gb ram? My laptop is Asus X571GD and it has 8gb soldered and I bought a 16 gb ram 3200mhz ddr4 so overall I have 24gb ram. Is this ok?
yes your laptop CPU and BIOS can handle up to 64GB, BUT unfortunately the reversion of the motherboard that you have, the ASUS has limited the use by removing the ram slot and soldering them on board. and some reversions give you a 4 ram slots. you can add the 16gb ram and it will add with your on board 4GB to get a total of 20GB and it will work fine.

no matter what ram speed you place, the bios will auto adjust the ram to match the lower rams dim , in your case it is the 2400mhz, that means if you place a 32000 along side your 2400 the bios will downgrade the 3200 to match the 2400. so get a 2666.
I have the same laptop with 8gb of ram l. So does that mean I have 4gb that cannot be removed and another 4 that I can replace with whatever ram I want?

My X571GT bios shows that i have 12GB ram but on the system it only shows that i have 4GB ram i try to re install the windows but still the same issue i have 64bit btw
🫠Regarding your question, i need you to open the bottom cover and see if you have a ram stick and what is the capacity on it, and if you have 8Gb stick that means you got 4GB soldered, or if you got 4gb stick then you have 8gb soldered.
your ram stick may be faulty it happens sometimes, i recommend you to remove the ram stick and clean the pins and re insert andcheck.
