  • Housing Authority officials and representatives from the development team gave NY1 a tour of the Baychester Houses this week.
“By the middle of this year, we’ll have a sense of who we are bringing on board to bring comprehensive repairs to Edenwald,” said NYCHA Real Estate Development Executive Vice President Jonathan Gouveia. “And it is absolutely our expectation that the type of repairs occurring across the street will be at least similar to what you are seeing at Baychester."

ONE VERY BIG PROBLEM......the new management companies will play nice and make everything right in the beginning. These tenants fail to realize that they are sitting ducks even more so under a private management company because tenants have more pull under NYCHA because there are more tenants and building presidents. Tenants in smaller buildings have less power because it's a private owner and private owners do NOT have the same obligation as NYCHA. WAKE UP PEOPLE AND FIGHT AGAINST PRIVATE MANAGEMENT.......you are slowly being dismembered and will become even more powerless. 🙄🤔

But aren't the living conditions better. Wouldn't the solution is make sure your rent is paid and go by the building facilities rules? When she said she doesn't have to worry about heat and not having hot water anymore, I felt that. Not arguing, just asking

    "Before we evict anyone
...we make sure they have services to pay the rent..." he meant to say rent increases that will force....even tenants who have section 8 but cannot afford the additional costs out....😊

Yeah basically they’re selling the jects bc they refuse to do the repairs with the budget they’ve been given. Either it’s minuscule or thievery happening. Either way there will be complaints on the opposite end once private owners purchase these buildings. NYCHA employees will be complaining about less work. Leaning on there Union hard body. Come back to this comment in 5-10yrs watch 😂😂
