Folks don’t buy the cheap heaters from dollar stores and telco. Those units are not properly tested and can be dangerous.
Please spend a few more dollars and shop from a reputable retailer with heaters that are u/l certified.

Actually there is currently a law in place that states a landlord is obligated to provide heat to a tenant in cold temperatures but nycha feels thier exempt from that rule because the city doesn't do s*it to them due to them working for the city. It's Bs. It takes a actual camera crew with the news to get nycha to even lift a finger n the reason why is because now it's on TV and they don't wanna be sued smfh

I'm tired of these slumlords living in the lap of luxury while everyone else freeze to death. Their is children and elderly people who especially need the heat. I pray to god nothing transpires with the space heaters. God please help and keep them safe

I am a Pennsylvanian. I live in an spacious apartment with my girls and husband that have central heat and air. I feel for these folks who have to do whatever to have heat, and a bit guilty that I can stay harm. It's backwards, putting illegal migrants up in luxury hotels, and spending our limited resources on them. We have enough issues in this country to deal with.

😲 I use kerosene and propane heaters, turn them off when I go to bed under my electric blanket on high. I also have a fluffy dog if all else fails. He's hella warm 😸

Get a Vornado space heater. Those inefficient space heaters are very weak at heat output and are prone to catching fire.
One problem I found out talking to one of my neighbors is that Just about every time you go to the management office We have a new manager for the project and a new superintendent to handle maintenance. They get transferred so fast that something that one manager may start will never get finished because they got transferred to another housing project.
They had the nerve to say the people needs to get a space heater, but no $500 a night hotel room. The politicians and the fire department need to check themselves into a mental health facility.
What will the city or Hive people do when the power is gone?

Stoves, kerosene, space-heaters, and boiling water are not supposed to be used as primary heat the city should have codes.

We gave over 24.9 billion to Aid Ukraine - Russian war, and an additional 3 billion during the beginning of the year. immigrants get to stay at posh hotels or heated shelters that include 3 meals, and a 24 hr on-site physician. But yet hard working tax paying citizens of New York City have to be subjected to heatless apartments...This is disgusting.

If you have to use some type of heater, use an OIL HEATER.
You need to place it in a small room, such as a bedroom, and you'll keep warm. Move your computer, your TV, some games, and a deck of cards for your kids, then when you get home, go straight to the bedroom.
It's tough to start a fire from an oil heater, and it uses way less electricity.

a woman with five kids. really now five kids. where is the father the news almost always talk to single moms with 3 or more kids in which the father is nowhere to be found. if the mothers had the father more in the kids lives a lot of these problems would not be. the problem is that the more kids these single mothers have the more money they get from the goverment. time to put a cap on the amounnt of money that single mothers get to no more than 2 kids. if you want to have more kids than figure out how to take care of them or better yet do one of a number of things. one cut the tubes, tie the tubes. or best yet keep thoes legs closed.

I almost felt sorry for these people but then I remembered that this is city housing paid for mostly by tax payers and the first women they interviewed has five kids collecting Public assistance living in a rent controlled apartment with free health care on top of it. All at the tax payers expense.
It’s still wrong. Don’t act like a bad person. Us taxpayers are also paying for the immigrants in hotels. This doesn’t mean that it’s ok to treat anyone less than human.
