Our criminal justice system is running like how most schools handle bullying: ignore or downplay the bullies, but punish the victims for standing up for themselves.

First time watcher. I like the flow of your video! This was a good watch!
I worked at an outdoor mall here in the Bay Area which would unfortunately get hit thieves on a daily basis. It was out of control and it’d be so brazen, sometimes with stores being hit in the morning hours. At a certain point I realized the frequency it was happening was due to the 3-4 entrances and exits this mall complex had. I always thought “Man, if only this place had some barricades, then maybe it’d help these businesses.”
I did some shopping for the first time in several months and what do I notice: barricades at two points of access, so what you essentially have now is one way in and one way out. Not sure if crime has been reduced drastically but this same mall has stopped making the news here in the area.
I say this to suggest that maybe poor city planning and development can create a host of problems in how it correlates to crime; if a mall, or shopping complex, or any business can be left vulnerable then it’s really easy for criminals to make a clean and quick getaway. It’s also one of the many factors why the Westfield here in San Francisco closed: BART was right there on the lower concourse - of course thieves are going to capitalize on that.
Yeah, I'm in the bay area. East Bay. Lots of fentanyl addicts are moving to San Fran for a bigger variety of stores to rob. Then all they have to do is go around the corner to get fentanyl. They say people on both sides of the street stand on the sidewalk and come up to your car. Plus homeless in San Fran get 600 a month . Too many addicts were all robbing the same stores in the Concord area. They were getting in fights over which stores they claim as theirs. Lol I lived in Martinez worst neighborhoods for 5 years so I heard all the news and scams from the hood! Lol
@@kandycepeterson2482 Yep. I’m in the East Bay too. I wasn’t aware how complex these crime rings are but with the way things are right now I wouldn’t be surprised if this puts the nail in the coffin with brick and mortar stores entirely. It’s an absolute mess.
The design of the mall is not the reason it has a crime problem. The city is allowing crime with no ramifications.

Nah it’s not worse not yet. The bodies and robberies was way worse. Could it get there yea back then 1,500-2500 murders a year was norm. Triads, Italian mob s Latin kings, Decepticons, Zulu nation? Where not even close.
How you think its turning out?
Democrats.
Democrats
Dummyterds 🤡🤡
MAYBE… Leticia James could do her job and prosecute real crimes. But, that’s probably asking too much.
Sadly, this is not just a New York issue. Los Angeles is having similar issues too.
I always love how people act like theft is something that corporations can just bounce back from no matter how much it happens
Yea just file an insurance claim. The ones that are stealing hate our system because they're lazy to work or strung out. They hate people w/ drive & view them as greedy because they want the good life for their family.
They can bounce back from it... but they'll close stores that are losing them money.
Cognitive dissonance, plus most Liberals just skip the principal of "it's wrong to steal" all together
@@BERSERK263it’s hard to explain the meaning of a cognitive dissonance to a lib. Due to the fact they operate in that way day in, day out. They believe that their behavior is absolutely normal.
@@sciencecompliance235 You don’t know the logistics of a business but you’re sure they can “bounce back”?
Imagine our ancestors seeing how we treat thieves nowadays

Fulton Center, like Fulton County in Georgia, is going under with crimes and non-performance?
9/11 "Rebuild, rebound, never say die"- Today, "We give up". What a difference twenty years makes.
Good leadership does matter.
THE PRESENT GUY...WHAT'S HIS NAME?...IS DEF NO GUILIANO...THINK ON THAT YOU SILLY DEM SUPPORTERS...ENJOY YOUR DEMISE..PLEASE STAY IN NYC... DO NOT SPREAD YOUR VERMIN ELSEWHERE.
Ha, i've got a bridge to sell you if you think all of this just started within the last 20 years. It's been bubbling under the surface for MUCH longer than that.
That's what happens when we select Muslims to positions of power.
@@killman369547that's not true. Giuliani had this city rebounding in the 2000s
@@killman369547 Rudy G made NYC a tourist destination after years of crime and corruption under democrat rule. I watched the city die after he was gone. You're completely wrong. It really kicked off in 2009. It got worse and worse every year until the last time I was there in 2014 when my father and I decided not to go out at night.
You know your city’s laws suck when security can’t do a thing but watch him leave.
this just happened in San Francisco. I talking when I was there.. streets for block and block and block full of retail stores. Now.... ghost streets basically. This is ridiculous. And liberal states want to vote against gun rights? LMAO STUPID. so what? the "government" can protect us and be the only one with guns? Y'all better not be that stupid. I love my country but the government is NOT your country. They are their own entity. Lets keep it real.
All the states passing lighter laws on theft are being lobbied by Amazon/target/ Walmart to increase sales…. No store you buy online and the retailers make more $
Selling online and having fewer stores is FAR more profitable
why even hire a security to begin with?
I think this is nothing more than the NYC department of tourism trying to boost NYC tourism by emphasizing the equity and safety a tourist can enjoy while visiting the rotten apple.
We use to be allowed to take matters into our own hands. Now if we are to intervene we are charged with assault, fired from the job, or arrested instead. Its a joke
The Fulton Center is a transit hub FIRST and a shopping mall SECOND by design. The stores may close but they're not shutting down this crucial MTA connection point. Connecting 8 lines to 4 more lines plus PATH is massively important.
One partial solution would be to have the PANYNJ purchase the Fulton Center from the MTA outright, with the MTA only being responsible for the stations themselves, as in the WTC mall. If the Port Authority owned the Fulton Center, it could fully integrate it into the WTC mall as a simple extension, with Westfield operating the entire expanded shopping center seamlessly and the Fulton portion being given the same high security as the Oculus portion.
It's so sad that what USED TO BE such a thriving city is now a cesspool of crime that no one wants to even visit. Let alone live there.
looking back the mafioso times look better
Its going to get worse before it gets better, if it ever does. Death spirals are extremely hard to get out of unless the underlying culture changes.
...similar to London UK.
It’s going back to 1970’s era NYC. My dad was there during that for college and post college for work. This is how bad it was then too!
Not sad it because people in NYC are so dumb they keep voting for the promises of the democrats
My brother was in San Francisco a year or so ago. Stopped in a drug store to get something and noticed a security guard by the register.
People were bringing items up to check out, but they never paid. Just walked right out the store. Apparently the Governor decreed that you can shoplift up to $999.99 and just get a misdemeanor.
This is going on in a lot of the major cities.
Businesses are closing down and are either moving or going out of business.
The legal system is overwhelmed. Jails are filled to capacity. Not enough police.
And the sheer stupidity of a city suing a store owner because they are closing down due to theft and lost profits/inventory.........I have no words to describe this shart show.
There are only 8 states in which grand larceny is less than $1000. California is one of those states at $950. edit: 10 states. sorry.
this IS democrat policy. this is the end effect. YOU voted for this, not knowing what you were getting. NOW YOU KNOW!!
The "legal system" abandoned everyone, the only thing left is street justice. Centralized control has totally fappen apart

Very sad situation in NY. Heartbreaking. Come on Mayor. More strict rules.
Just so you know, Westfield is an international shopping mall/shopping centre operator. Many if not most of the largest shopping complexes in Australia are operated by Westfield. That name is very familiar to me.
These are not homeless , these are the usual suspects.
Right, bottom line
You're probably right. Homeless people have no home to store all that junk.
A San Diego County white woman has been arrested for her role in leading a nationwide shoplifting ring worth more than $8 million in beauty products, according to federal search warrants.
