I am absolutely shocked at the lack of care you received leading up to and through childbirth. Here in the States we are sort of sue-happy but this situation would absolutely qualify for legal action. What an absolute nightmare! I personally have chosen to be child-free and this is EXACTLY a fear that I would have going into childbirth. Lately it seems like there are more and more issues and selfishly, my life is worth more to me than becoming a mother. (and I'm one who goes out of my way to avoid processed foods, artificial colors, etc.) I am so, so sorry you had to go through that. I give massive props to women who decide to go forward with motherhood - you are such a strong person!
At 4ft 11, my mum had to have a scan whilst pregnant to see if she could deliver naturally, she was lucky she could and went on to have three more, including me. Louise, thank you for sharing your journey xxx
You should not trash the name and reputation of the NHS and the healthcare workers, yes there are few things that could be improved, but overall having a safety net of a health care sector that will be with you through surgery, cancer treatment is a blessing. Imagine living in America where you have to pay for you medical treatment and if you need an operation you will to to mortgage your home in order to be able to afford it surgery. Imagine living in a 3rd world for 5 minutes…. where doctors are not properly trained or qualified, sanitary conditions are awful. Medical Equipment is not adequate or non existent. Plus the fact you will have to pay for everything. You see my point of being grateful of the lottery of life that you’re living in first world country. Be grateful of being a 🇬🇧 citizen.
And here I am, in my developing country, complaining about our healthcare quality; when I realise women are not well anywhere in this world. Nobody has our back. We are not looked after.
