  • Today's tutorial was requested by viewers of other MiddleLoop videos. Since we are downloading from both the Mavic 3 and the RC Pro, we start with a quick primer on High Resolution Video (Mavic 3) vs. Low Res Cache video (RC Pro). Then, we get into the meat of the video exploring various methods to Copy Videos and Photos from the DJI Mavic 3 and the DJI RC Pro to an iPhone (most methods should work on other phones and iPad too).
    We cover several wireless methods including QuickTransfer, Bluetooth Share and Internet File-Share (like Dropbox, Google Drive and iCloud). We'll also cover hardware devices; a USB Drive as well as a MicroSD Card Reader.
    In this video, we show methods that both work 🟢 and do not work 🔴. In addition, we cover how to get rid of an error message that pops up every-time you power on the RC Pro after a Bluetooth Share transfer failure.

    What an excellent video thank you for taking the time to help everyone. I have just upgraded from the Mavic 2 to a Mavic 3 pro. And I was rather confused when I took my memory card from the Mavic three put in a card reader plugged into my phone and it says there are no files present. I wasn’t aware the only way to transfer files is the way you show in this video, that’s a shame, as I did like taking the SD card out and transferring straight to my phone via a card reader. I was rather confused until I came across your video. I guess this is the way I have to do things now. Thanks again Ian in the UK

    Thanks a lot Jerry! Informative and useful - and reassuring somehow, as I spent over an hour trying to get a single cached video transferred from my new Mavic and/or the controller, with no success. In addition to the failed Bluetooth ”connection”, I also couldn’t get the new fast Wifi 6 feature to work (”aircraft already paired with another device” - umm yeah so how do I unpair them DJI?). Maybe the lightning cable is my savior then. It’d be super fun if there was one option that actually worked

    • @middleloopvideo

      I am able to use WiFi 6 feature between Mavic 3 and my phone (iPhone). I get that message if the Mavic 3 is connected to the RC Pro controller. But, then I "retry" and it works. Then I get that message when I try to re-connect the RC Pro to the Mavic 3... again, "retry" works. So, I can freely go back and forth connecting the Mavic 3 to my phone and the controller.
      Sorry you're having difficulties!

    Hi jerry love the series on the rc pro .I was using Dropbox to transfer videos but now after watching your videos I am using the sand disk lightenining hard drive . My question is I love using master shots and quick shots on the air2s and would like to know how to transfer the finished master shot or quick shot to the drive . Is this also cached and what’s the best way to transfer? I generally take the sd card out of the drone and copy the 2 minute master shot in its entirety to LumaFusion on the iPad Pro and edit it myself ,however sometimes it would be nice to use the Dji version of the finished master shot as a quick finished edit and get it on the photos on the iPhone or iPad . Would love a tutorial on the best way to do this in the highest possible resolution . Keep up the good work jerry thanks Maurice

    Hi Jerry, thanks for all you do for the community! I'm trying to follow your instructions for quick transfer, but DJI Fly on my iPhone does not detect my Mavic 3T. So then I figured I'd use Google Drive. When I log into Google Drive on my RC Pro, I don't see any option to upload files. When I try to install the Google Drive app, it says that it is not compatible with my device. Dropbox works alright in Safari on my RC Pro, but I pay for my storage on Google Drive and don't have much space on the unpaid version of Dropbox. @middleloopvideo  Год назад

      Hi David,
      Thanks for reaching out. Before I answer you’re question, I’d like to know what your end goal is. Once on the USB drive, what do you want to do with the files?
      I’m making some assumptions, like I am assuming you’re talking about video files. If so, are you wanting the full 4k hi-rez file or the HD (cached) version? I ask because the cached files are already on the RC Pro and can be copied directly using the File Manager on the RC. Where as the 4k version is sitting on the Mavic 3.
      Assuming again that you want the 4k version, you would have to download them first to the RC before you could use the RC to copy them to the USB drive. But, if your end goal is to move the files to a computer, then I wouldn’t use RC Pro at all…. Just plug the Mavic 3 into the computer with a USB cable effectively using the Mavic 3 as a big USB drive.
      I made some assumptions and I’m probably way off base, but I hope this helps.

      Pam Alot, I agree that isn'y very clear as you could interpret what is said to mean that by using the USB drive, you can copy directly from the M3 to the drive then to the iPhone. However, it is possible to download the 5.1k file from the M3 to the RC Pro using the download feature in the DJI Fly album. Then from there, you can copy that file to the USB drive from the RC Pro. In the Files App, the file will be located in Internal Storage/Android/Data/dji.go.v5 (this may vary depending on version)/Files/DCIM/OriginalFiles/Video/
      I hop that helps.

    • @middleloopvideo
      @middleloopvideo  2 года назад +1

      That would appear to be correct (at this time). When you open up the DJI Fly App on the RC Pro, it doesn’t prompt you to connect via QuickTransfer like it does on the phone. It simply connects using Ocusync 3.0 in order to fly.
      I imagine this is by design as it already has a copy of the cache file for videos (HD quality) and photos download within a second or two as it is. Plus the high definition version of the videos can be huge and frankly there just isn’t a lot of room in the RC Pro for them. Who knows, this too may change in a future firmware update. 😀

    • @middleloopvideo
      @middleloopvideo  Год назад

      There’s a lot of points of failure here… let’s see if we can narrow it down. First, can you iPad read other SD Cards?
      2nd, are you sure the files are on the SD card? Check it on a computer. If not, are you sure you changed the setting to write to it vs writing to internal memory of the M3. It also may need to be formatted before the M3 can write to it. Check out our video on Formatting the SD card. That video may be written for the RC Pro but there’s info in there that will apply.
      Btw… we actually don’t like using the SD card for transferring files. Did you try QuickTransfer? We’ve used it between the M3 and iPhone successfully and it’s pretty fast.
      With the Fly More, you use the RC Pro to fly I’m assuming. The cache files are probably still on it. These videos will be in HD not 4k but should look pretty good on that iPad and take up less room on the iPad. You might want to grab them before they get overwritten just in case the files somehow didn’t written to the SD card or M3 internal memory.
      Sorry for the long winded brain dump.

    Thanks for the fantastic video... BUT, can you tell me via comment or new video if there is a way to get the CACHE videos on the new DJI Mini 3 Pro with the new DJI Dedicated remote. Your video shows using features of FULL ANDROID on the older much more expensive remote. The new one does not have Full Android. @@middleloopvideo Re: “Sorry to hear you’re having problems with the new drone”
      =====
      I’m actually loving it so far… the corrupted file was because I was an idiot. My second flight I STOPPED recording, waited 1 minute and shut down the drone and files are fine. BUT the experience made me realize someday I might NEED the CACHE VIDEOS [drone crash in the deep ocean and/or Bermuda Triangle and such things]. Problem is it SEEMS there is NO WAY to get the CACHE VIDEOS off the DJI RC remote. As I mentioned problem being, it does NOT have FULL ANDROID, so no Dropbox etc. And in the Remote I CAN fully SEE and PLAY the CACHE file… there is just no UP ARROW SHARE EXPORT ICON next to the HEART icon in the upper right.
      Re: ‘surprised shutting down the drone corrupted the files on the drone unless you pulled the battery while recording”
      ====
      The SD card wasn’t removed till 30 minutes later with the drone off… So it was definitely corrupted because I SHUT DOWN the drone while it was still recording. But that part of the problem I am not at all worried about. I know now not to be an idiot. BUT, I can see a great need to be able to EXPORT the CACHE video sometime in the future if the drone itself breaks or is lost.
      Re: ‘Did you record to internal memory or MicroSD card on the drone and remote?”
      =======
      I THOUGHT I had it recording to the SD card… and it seems based on space usage to be there.
      But when I pulled SD card and put in my Mac Pro it said SD card was not recognizable.
      Re: As to the EXPORT function…. Do you know a way? And when you find one, can you do an updated video that covers the Mini 3 Pro with the brand new “DJI RC” remote?

      Since you still have the cache files on the RC in internal memory, our favorite method of copying files from the RC to the Mac is using a USB-C to USB-C cable (we don't like to move the MicroSD card from device to device a lot -- mostly use the MicroSD card just to expand the memory and leave it in the RC)... But, Mac doesn't natively read the Android Disc Operating system. So, you'll need to install a program on the Mac which can read it... we use the Android File Transfer program: www.android.com/filetransfer/
      Once installed, with the RC power off, connect it to the Mac with USB-C to USB-C cable. Turn on the RC. If it doesn't auto-run the Transfer program, run it manually... the program can be a little finicky, in that sometimes when it auto-runs, it immediately closes with a message that it, "Can't access device storage". Just press "OK" to clear the message and re-open it. You should see the entire file structure of the RC (both the Internal Disk and the MicroSD Card). Then, open the Finder App and drag and drop the files you want from the Transfer App to the folder you want in the Finder app. Works great!
      Maybe, we should do a video on this after we finish the one we're working on now. :).
      Do you know where the cache files are on the RC... We have a video on that too for the RC Pro which may apply to yours too ruclips.net/video/NLw71QhBN3U/видео.html
      I hope it helps. Good luck!

      Let me know which, if any, work for the mini 3 and new remote and I’ll be sure to update the description. I’ve been getting a lot of questions on that drone.
      Thank you and good luck 🍀

    can dji rc pro smart controller wirless transmit image to another tablet in real time so someone can stand close watch what is going on without having to look over my shoulder

      The RC Pro has an HDMI port that can be pugged into an external monitor for that purpose... Of course, that's not the wireless solution you asked about. I'm currently researching Live Stream for a future video... but not having much luck with the screen share side of things... I'm trying to solve that with a third party app. Stay tuned.

      Hi! I’m not sure I understand. The video you commented on was on copying photos and videos to the phone. Is that what you were trying to do?
      We don’t have the Samsung s21… but, can you provide a little more detail? We gave several methods in this video. Which did you try. Are you getting any errors? Are you using internal memory or an SD card? What are you copying from?
      Thank you.

      From what I've read, that little drone rocks! Just not seeing the ROI for MiddleLoop at this time. Happy to do the video if DJI supplies the drone. Have you tried the instructions of the RC Pro to see if that applies? Let me know, if it does, we'll update the description to include it. Thank you.
