@Mike, funny you where just testing to see if the viewers where paying attention to no graphics card being detected. I have done that myselfs only in my case it was not turning on the power switch. So even Tech pros make errors, though it did not take long to realise the reason for no power. Those MSI boards are a real pain even the graphics seem troublesome. I had the latest BIOS, so it did not like the Corsair 3600MHz RAM, USB 2.0 ports stopped working along with Radeon RX5700XT at times not being recognised.

Hi mike, very nice video, just have one question.. If i've full built a pc and i try to do this process, is a problem? or i have to do it without any components on the motherboard?
Is the Ryzen 5 3400G compatible with the latest BIOS drivers? For some reason I didn’t get a display. But I tried version 350 through the USB Flash BIOS button method and was able to run BIOS. I’m scared to try the M-Flash to update it to the latest ones from there. Thanks!
I have already built the pc, everything is connected can i still do the bios flash cause i just tried it but didnt work should i do it at the beginning before building it or is it ok flashing it at the end too where everything is connected to the power supply?
is it best to flash the updates individually from the very first update to the last or is it ok to flash the very last update, assuming it contains all of the previous updates. I've heard both but just want to hear what you think before I start any crazy nonsense, thank you
Will be doing it this weekend most likely, prepping some things like drivers & some programs downloaded too external usb drive while the bios is on my usb stick & got a laptop ready too go fetch more things & make a bootable os drive out of the usb stick as well. (Gonna use a debloated version of windows 10 called Atlas OS, the latest ESEA version too reduce any time spent tweaking a bunch of settings too get more performance out of windows 10 with my own choice of software.) Don't want too rush myself being tired coming home from work building a pc. As I've damaged a socket 1150 z87 board with an I5 4670k unfortunately not noticing i screwed the board down over a few wires bending it right near the chipset & i outright didn't think straight being frustrated and simply pulled the wires loose from behind the motherboard. Instead of undoing all screws from the motherboard which bent it some more, board gives out error on gpu, sata even without those connected & gets no display out on integrated or dedicated gpu. While it didn't cost me anything i destroyed one of my Christmas presents basically last year. But will be nice upgrading from an I5 2500k at 4.5 ghz too a Ryzen 5600, 16 gb ddr4 3200 mhz cl16 & a gtx 1660 super for gpu. Would have upgraded sooner but my r9 280 died on me july 2020 so i went back too my old hd 5770 for a bit until i saved up some more money too the gtx 1660 super.
Forgot about this for a bit, but this went off without any problems & have been using the pc since December 1st. I left it for about 12 - 15 minutes here having a bit slower usb drive older sandisk cruzer edge 32 gb. At default pbo settings & with my noctua nh-u12p se2 which i bought a am4 cpu cooler mounting kit too. The cpu is consistently sitting at default boost clocks which in some rare instances gets as high as 4.5 ghz on a single cpu core or two & most commonly while playing something like cs go or Gta online sits at 4.450 mhz the entire time & temperatures are ofc great. Specially during winter right now, heat isn't working that great in the apartment complex here so cpu & gpu with an fps limiter on is chilling in the mid 50's & gpu going up too 63c usually while I'm playing gta online which is basically nothing, hotspot reaches 75c which is still perfectly fine ofc.
hello question!, my bios version is from 2020-06-15 with this mobo and AMD 3600 ryzen cpu , it works fine should i update it to the latest version? because i do want to upgrade my ram and dont know if i need to update and is my version too old? im a complete noob and would appreciate the help 🙏🏼
Great guide! I have bought a ryzen 5600 for replacement to my 1600af but now that I am a bit scared to do the flashback. Still considering it and collecting knowledge of what can possibly happen so that I don't ruin my current pc within the process. What if that the power goes off once I begin to flash it or there is a problem with the flash device? If my motherboard gets hurt through the process, will that hurt also some of the other components once I install them again on the motherboard?
Been about 10 minutes after the light stopped flashing fast it is just a solid red now and it's stuck at the VGA debug light, I don't wanna risk bricking it do I just plug the GPU in while it's doing its thing or turn it off and re do it all? Great video
Do you know if this same method is the same for the X570 Tomahawk? Planning to get one for a 5800X (hopefully I can get one at launch) but given I've been running an intel cpu before this, the USB flashing method will be my only way of updating the bios ready for Zen 3
Hi Mike just done this on my mpg x570 gaming plus and the blinking light went out but no cycle of the fans or debug lights I’m doing it with noting attached not even cpu
thank you for that vid. First i did it and there wasnt any red light. on second try i changed the USB Device and it started blinking and the fans started. After a couple seconds the RAM lighted up. After 5 minutes it stopped and the pc turned of and immediately turns on. now 15 minutes later. The red light is consistently on and nothing happens( The Fans still going and the RGB is on.

Hi Mike. Good video. I flashed my BIOS Tuesday because it offered improved boot time and memory compatibility. My X570 Unify has the flash BIOS button on the I/O. However, I still prefer to flash it from the UEFI. I like to have a graphic indicator to watch. As you said, most people should not flash their BIOS if their system is running properly. But, I flash mine every time there is a new one, providing that it offers a performance update. [NOTE] I would advise everyone planning to flash their BIOS to have their PC connected to a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) as you never know when the power could cut out or spike, and brick your mobo. My PSU keeps my PC and Monitor running for 15+ minutes after a power outage. Thus, flashing my BIOS isn’t such a butt clinching experience for me.
@Ladioz The UEFI, short for "Unified Extensible Firmware Interface" aka the real name of the modern BIOS. I updated the firmware with a USB the same as Mike demonstrated in this video. I simply chose to update it in the BIOS instead of using the button on the I/O. That way I can see the progress bar as the upgrade is taking place. Feel free to ask if you have more questions. I'll answer them the best I can.
@@davidpogacar9564 Having a BIOS flash button won't stop you motherboard from getting bricked if there's a black out. But, it's your motherboard, so you do you Boo‐Boo. My UPS only cost $60. My motherboard cost $300. I prefer to play it safe.
i might invest in a UPS at some point but here in the area we live the power supply is awesome and we haven't had a power outage since we moved in over 15 years ago

Though I didn't get this one through a retailer, I got it as a gift from a friend over Christmas so I'm not sure if he did anything with it before I had it.

Hello
I do everything you say and even several times but the red LED flashes 3 times then stays fixed (this with several USB keys and several bios versions

Hi mike, very nice video, just have one question.. If i've full built a pc and i try to do this process, is a problem? or i have to do it without any components on the motherboard?
Should be okay just remove the ram
Perfect, easy to understand guide! I'm definitely gonna play this video again when I flash my new MSI MAG X570 board. Thanks, mate! :D
thanks for watching
Thank you very much your Video was very helpful to me! I dont know what I could have done without it.
You're welcome!
Hi broth, i have a question i have the same motherboard but when a change from Cms to uefi don't work more :c
I have a micro connector for my 450 Tom max but I’m not sure how this is done
Thank you soo much got a 5600g working on this board
Glad we could help
just one question do you need to take the small battier off the board or leave it on?
entirely up to you, if you get problems then try it
I'm not getting a blinking bios light with my usb plugged in, my usb light is blinking and my cpu light is on
try a different USB drive some drives don't seem to work well for this process
Is the Ryzen 5 3400G compatible with the latest BIOS drivers? For some reason I didn’t get a display. But I tried version 350 through the USB Flash BIOS button method and was able to run BIOS. I’m scared to try the M-Flash to update it to the latest ones from there. Thanks!
yes it should be fine with that cpu straight out of the box
I have already built the pc, everything is connected can i still do the bios flash cause i just tried it but didnt work should i do it at the beginning before building it or is it ok flashing it at the end too where everything is connected to the power supply?
I’m in the same situation any verdict yet?
A comment said the flash works on a fully built system so it might be ok
it can work but i would suggest removing the boot drives and ram as that is pretty easy to do
@@NoOriginalContentOfficial yeah it worked and it only took like 10 seconds
is it best to flash the updates individually from the very first update to the last or is it ok to flash the very last update, assuming it contains all of the previous updates. I've heard both but just want to hear what you think before I start any crazy nonsense, thank you
Rad what the bios says some will say you need to to in a certain order, if it doesn’t mention it you are fine to go to the newer one straight away
THANKS man.
No problem!
what do i do if my led is staying a solid color not flashing and it has been in this mode for about 4 hours
Try another usb stick and make sure the drive is supported
@@mikesunboxing thank you i got it to work
Hey Mike I have install the bios on my drive and gone through the the set up. But It can’t seemed to work .
going to need a bit more information on that one really, not much to go on there sorry
Hi Mike, is impatience the only danger in this process or are there others?
there are a lot of things that can go wrong here sadly
Will be doing it this weekend most likely, prepping some things like drivers & some programs downloaded too external usb drive while the bios is on my usb stick & got a laptop ready too go fetch more things & make a bootable os drive out of the usb stick as well.
(Gonna use a debloated version of windows 10 called Atlas OS, the latest ESEA version too reduce any time spent tweaking a bunch of settings too get more performance out of windows 10 with my own choice of software.)
Don't want too rush myself being tired coming home from work building a pc.
Would have upgraded sooner but my r9 280 died on me july 2020 so i went back too my old hd 5770 for a bit until i saved up some more money too the gtx 1660 super.
take your time and take it easy
@@Mini-z1994 Glad it went well for you 🙂 Happy New Year!
hello question!, my bios version is from 2020-06-15 with this mobo and AMD 3600 ryzen cpu , it works fine should i update it to the latest version? because i do want to upgrade my ram and dont know if i need to update and is my version too old? im a complete noob and would appreciate the help 🙏🏼
i would update it anyway for the security and reliability patches, but it isn't entirely necessary
If my motherboard gets hurt through the process, will that hurt also some of the other components once I install them again on the motherboard?
if you do anything wrong or there is a power outage, just start over, that is what it is designed to do
@@mikesunboxing Thank you good sir! When I manage to do with will post results.
@@mikesunboxing I have a question. What if I update bios with my current 1600af and then switch to 5600. If I do that what could I expect to happen?
Been about 10 minutes after the light stopped flashing fast it is just a solid red now and it's stuck at the VGA debug light, I don't wanna risk bricking it do I just plug the GPU in while it's doing its thing or turn it off and re do it all? Great video
turn off and connect your monitor to the gpu and you should be fine, if not let me know
Do you know if this same method is the same for the X570 Tomahawk? Planning to get one for a 5800X (hopefully I can get one at launch) but given I've been running an intel cpu before this, the USB flashing method will be my only way of updating the bios ready for Zen 3
yes same principle
Haha same here! getting x570 tomahawk with 5800x!
hello sir; this method should work ipmmb-formosa motherboard? there is Fdo jumper before connect usb drive should i change it place ?
i'm sorry i have no idea what that is
Hi Mike just done this on my mpg x570 gaming plus and the blinking light went out but no cycle of the fans or debug lights I’m doing it with noting attached not even cpu
have you tried a test build with the cpu yet? it might have worked
Hello, i got one question after the light stopped blinking my psu turned off and on. So should i wait for the psu to shut down again
no just turn it off it the BIOS led is off now
I LOVE THIS DUDE!
Thanks James :-)
thank you for that vid. First i did it and there wasnt any red light. on second try i changed the USB Device and it started blinking and the fans started. After a couple seconds the RAM lighted up. After 5 minutes it stopped and the pc turned of and immediately turns on. now 15 minutes later. The red light is consistently on and nothing happens( The Fans still going and the RGB is on.
sounds like it is done
Hello, i got the prime b450 m-a ii (new1) and a new ryzen7 5800x. I forgot that i needed a secound cpu. The mainboard got a button on top left too. Is this exactly what i need ??
yes you can use that button to flash the bios to support your processor
@@mikesunboxing thank you so much for the quick answer. Love U bro. Very good videos.
Hello. I'm trying to do as you told in the video. After connecting the pendrive with the software, the diode flashes for a while and then it shines with a constant red light.
could be the wrong file or not unzipped fully
@@mikesunboxing I did everything as in the video, including the correct formatting and changing the file name. I tried on two different pen drives. And when I connect to the motherboard and try to upload, the lamp flashes twice and then shines with a constant light

Hi Mike.
You dont need ups if you have flash button because you cant brick your board.
