    Janelle - I'm new to your channel and I love it. I'm on week 1 with Semaglutide and lost .50 lbs. I did lose 11 lbs. following Noom 7 weeks prior & before taking the medicine. I was hoping it would be at least 1-2 lbs. I don't want to get discouraged. When my doctor suggested I Zepbound (but my insurance won't cover it) I never thought of it and she gave me so much HOPE. As I was listening to you, you were watching what you ate, not just what you wanted. So thank you for a great video.

    Slow & steady for me! Almost 10 weeks on Mounjaro (2nd month on 5mg) & I just hit 20lbs lost! Need to increase my activity but I've been making better good choices so far! Appreciate the tips, Jenelle.

    Thank you. I appreciate that you addressed the impacts of behavioral modification.
    I refuse to count calories. This is my 4th time losing the weight; my 20s was a starvation diet, 30s was Weight Watchers, and 40s was Keto. To be honest, I probably could count the protein and calories in everything I eat, in my head. I remember in my 30s my doctor had me go get a bunch of tests to see where my metabolism was. She was shocked that I was 100lbs overweight cause my metabolism was pretty speedy. My response was "I work really hard at being this overweight.". I spent most of my adult life oscillating from strict regimented diet to all out binges for years. This medication it has really allowed me to quiet the food noise and just concentrate on modifying behaviors for a healthier body. I still apply portion control, prioritizing protein, drinking my water, and moderate exercise(walks and weights).
    I'm in therapy and trying to modify many of my behavior around food, cause I really want this to work over the long haul. I do weight myself weekly and if I wasn't in the beginning of my journey, I would/will probably push it out further. Now I have my therapist on speed dial when the scale shows I haven't lost weight or even gained weight.
    I've lost 35lbs the first 12 weeks. Which I honestly think I am gonna stop sharing from here on out. If I had lost less weight and modified my behavior for health, that would be just as successful on my Zepbound journey.

      Having a support system is extremely important. One of my promises to myself was to address my inability to maintain a weight loss. Not there yet but once I do, I will be starting therapy.

    Thanks Jennell! This was a great video with wonderful tips! I am 22 weeks in and am down 22 pounds. I have had 2 surgeries during this time-- D & C and hysterectomy-- and just cleared for light exercise-- walking or eliptical-- looking forward to swimming and lifting light weights in 2 more weeks. I, too, am hoping to lose about 100 pounds, so this is going to be a long journey, and I am happy to find kind people like you who are willing to share their journey too! I am a new subscriber! ❤

    👏🏾👏🏾 that's great!! I have 42 in 4 months, and I'm on 5.0 Zepbound. Portion control is my struggle sometimes but the suppression is still there for the majority. Nowhere near my goal.but chipping away at it!!

      @JenelleKetcham  Месяц назад +1

      You got this! It’s crazy how things change on a daily and weekly basis. I’ve had little appetite suppression the past couple of weeks and then bam this week I can only eat half of my dinners. But I am a simple eater and portions for me are not that hard now. In the beginning I was all over the place!

    I am reminding myself to keep looking at the big picture. Focusing on the week to week is a killer for me too. And yes….the same issue. Had to lose so much to finally fit into the clothes I have been wearing…. before even coming close to wearing the next size down. 😊

    • @JenelleKetcham
      @JenelleKetcham  Месяц назад

      I still have issues shopping for clothes! For months I was just adding in a couple staples to my wardrobe as my focus was on losing weight and creating healthy habits.

    Thanks for sharing- this was encouraging. 😮
    Now- I’m watching again. I really learned from using a food scale. My eyeballs were way off. I make it a game to see if I can get it right and then check… Also, once I make something like a tri-tip roast, or rotisserie chicken, I cut it into 4 oz portions in a storage bag, freeze them, and have been so happy to pull out my exact portion days later, mixing up my protein by how I feel that day.❤🎉

    • @JenelleKetcham
      @JenelleKetcham  28 дней назад

      So many people are afraid to use the food scale, which I am not going to judge. We are one and the same, I love to see portions and definitely can’t trust my eyes! 😂

      Mine happened around 4 months but it was minimal. But I was worried because I did drop a decent amount of weight in the first 3 months but I was proactive and starting tacking some supplements and focused on protein which I believe helped me. Good luck on your weight loss journey!

    Thank you for the video. Congrats on your weight loss. Can you please tell me what your starting weight was and how tall are you? I’ve been on Mounjaro for 12 weeks and I lost 26 pounds. I started at 203 pounds and now 177, I’m 5’6. My blood work keeps getting better every month. I’m thrilled. I would love to get down to 145. I also heard but I don’t know for sure that the closer you get to your goal weight it slows down a bit. I don’t know if this is true or not. What is your goal weight also? ✌💙

    • @JenelleKetcham
      @JenelleKetcham  Месяц назад +1

      My highest weight was 261 but when I started Mounjaro I was at 253 2 months later. I am 5’9”. I would like to reach 153 but ok if I get under 160 and maintain that.
      It has slowed down drastically over the past 2-3 months but as long as I am not gaining and still building my healthy habits I am fine.

      You are doing very well. Your hight in cm would be 170.68 and normal weight for this hight would be either, 65Kg, or 70kg or 75Kg. In other words, your hight in cm minus 100 would be the core, then either plus or minus 5kg. Good luck

  • @annmc3878

    If I have to measure out food, it would totally put me off. I dislike counting calories as it makes the food noise worse. I start thinking about food all the time. That is what I like about Mounjaro is that I reduce my portion sizes without any measuring. Plus, like tonight we had quiche with broccoli and beets in it. My daughter cooked it (she’s home from college for the summer). She would have had to do all the measuring and then figure out potions, nope.

    • @JenelleKetcham
      @JenelleKetcham  28 дней назад +2

      I agree! If I had to try to calculate calories for a big recipe that would not be worth it to me. I don’t always track but there were moments where I stalled for a couple weeks and needed to take a look at my data to day eating habits. But that is why I always preach what works for me may not work for you! How we get to our end goals will be different but the key is hitting our goal!

    Video is too long. Calories are irrelevant if you are eating proper food. Maybe bullet point your tips at the end so I don't have to watch 25 minutes of this.
