O.o I almost never get withdrawals from caffeine, and caffeine has a lot of health benefits. Most people unfortunately use it earlier than an hour after waking that unbalances cortisol, and makes you crash in the aftie. There are months I'll go without coffee, without energy drinks, and little to no tea. Hehe.
alKILLhol, I never got hangovers, and never withdrawals, even when drinking heavy on some weekends. Usually I'd wake up feeling great. I'm part Russian though. Lol.

I agree with you on the gabby/Lyrica withdrawal. To me it's like a mixture of opiate and benzo withdrawl. Elements of both. My withdrawal is a 96 hour affair. Hot sweats, bight sweats, nightmares, insomnia, heartburn, nausea and body aches. I basically pee myself into dehydration. Gabapentin and Lyrica make you retain water so when you run out or quit gabapentin that's how you get rid of all that fluid.I still use Lyrica for the neuropathy in my leg. I basically can't get off the couch without it.

Gabapentin was a nightmare to taper because I abused it thinking it wasn’t addictive taking one every half hour for awhile because I read from medical websites it wasn’t addictive killing my last shred of trust in the American healthcare system. But it’s such a weird drug because if the way it’s absorbed I find I couldn’t predict when I was going to feel the withdrawal bad without taking more that I wanted to. Luckily I switched to lyrica initially because it’s cheaper and have found it so much easier to taper and in general I find the withdrawal symptoms are a lot less severe. Tapering gabapentin was like having waves of coke comedown anxiety come and go for hours at a time. I wasn’t even doing that crazy of a dose and only abused it for a few weeks but I’ve been stuck on gaba or lyrica ever since. Lyrica works well for pain though I just want to taper to not be on a crazy high dose because having had a couple seizures before I’m really afraid of if I had to cold turkey anything over 300 mg a day, so far I’m down to 500 mg but when I switched to lyrica I was taking like 1000 mg a day. Can’t believe people are prescribed the amount of gaba I was taking when I was abusing it long term. It felt so dirty coming off

Bro I'm so glad you mentioned antidepressants, and I sort of expected they might be in the video because of how bad that withdrawal is. And keep in mind, I'm someone who started neglecting taking them every day towards the end, so it's probably even worse for everyday users. It was the brain zaps for me that were the worst. They seemed to strike at night and especially when I was trying to sleep. Every time I bent over or tilted my head, brain zap. They varied from mild tingling (sometimes pleasurable) all the way to brutal, electrocution-like shocks (there's no lasting pain though which is good). First few times, I thought I was just having flashbacks from the zaps caused by the other infamous serotonergic substance or some sort of residual effect. But they got stronger and more frequent and I realized I'm in for a ride lol

I have never experience withdrawal from any of these. I am currently on gabapentin and just randomly stop taking it, never noticed anything significant from not taking it. I was once a 3 pack a day smoker then switched to nicotine gum, then quit the gum with no problems. 16 years clean from cigarettes currently. I used to drink 4 cups of coffee a day or 3-5 energy drinks. Never got headaches from that. I have experienced brain zaps from various medications but never from stopping anti-depressants. Crack withdrawal was probably the worst one for me. The depression lasts months or even up to a year.

I'm a chronic pain and chronic illness patient and I've been on gabapentin and then pregabalin for years and still am. It's not unusual for my pharmacy to not get me my medications on time (I'm only allowed to pick them up on day 29 and 30 of the month because of their ability for abuse) and when I'm not able to get them, within 24 hours my body completely crashes. Like having the quest flu I've ever felt and it lasts for up to a week. No energy, nausea, body aches, headache, the whole bit. It also crashes my immune system so the first germ I encounter, I get a sickness double whammy. The withdrawal from that stuff, especially when you're on it long term, is no joke

I was detoxing off gabapentin and subs in jail in 2020. I felt like I was crawling out my skin and wanted to fucking die. The only thing they gave me was clonidine. It didn’t do dick. I was in jail a little over two weeks and I swear I only slept for an hour and a half and that happened going into the 12th day out of pure exhaustion. I had the most vivid dreams. But then once I woke back up I just started crying because I just wanted to sleep. I was also in the hole in a cell that had a camera…. I was puking and shitting pretty much every hour so whichever guards were watching at the time got a show. My time in that cell changed how I am now about peeing with others in the same room, with changing with others in the same room. I no longer care. It took my humanity away. 😢as of the beginning of 2023, that jail has started to give inmates that have any type of opiate in their system Suboxone. I think that is fucking awesome and a step in the right direction. I wish they were doing that when I was there but still at least it is giving people that are there now and the last few months a fighting chance.

There's also harvard research showing it adversely affects your cognitive ability if on it for a long time.
Be very cautious if your Dr prescribes it.
I was on 300mg 2xday for 7+ years [nope it didnt help with the anxiety 😅]
But if there's any forgetfulness on your part [thanks, Pregabalin 🙄],
Or any mix up at the Drs office,
Or the pharmacy ran out you are gonna get OBLITERATED
It does not allow for any wriggle room at all. like, 6 hours tops before it starts to kick in.

Its gonna leave you unbearably anxious, distressed and in a very heightened yet incredibly dark place if you suddenly come off it.
Not to mention the cold shakes coz your nervous system is in shock.
Just be very cautious and do your research because at the end of the day a drug is a drug, whether its from a lab or not.
It's gonna change your chemistry and physiology... and I believe that the risks are sometimes overlooked or downplayed.
Inform yourself, do your research, weigh up the pros n cons, be prepared.
