- We are master manipulators, liars, cheaters, thieves, burglars, and con artists. Spotting the signs of addiction can be hard, especially during the beginning stages of a persons addiction. These 13 signs will help you spot if your loved one is abusing drugs or alcohol.
When someone is in the grips of addiction they become a different person. They learn to do whatever it takes to get that next fix.
Part of this is learning how to hide everything from their loved ones. It doesn’t matter how sly a person is when it comes to hiding their drug use, if you know the signs you will be able to spot it. Drugs cause people’s behaviors to change.
I lived with multiple members of my family during different stages of my addiction. At first, it was little things like my patience level that my family started to notice. Addiction is a progressive disease, these signs and symptoms will get worse over time.
Then the more blatant signs were visible to my family. My mom started to notice I would get super paranoid and think my room was filled with bugs. This was an extreme cocaine paranoia setting in - Coke Bugs. This was a blatant sign she knew right away. Other signs arent so obvious, here are 13 Signs of Addiction Everyone Should Know.

That 24 hour sleep! Getting "flu" every two months or more is a huge sign.
I got assualted by my brother 5 days ago and after watching your videos Ive realized hes addicted to meth... We just thought it was his bipolar but Im starting to think his diagnosis was the result of meth psychosis at 17. He commited a heinous crime and we all assumed he was manic, but im 100% conviced he was high on meth.

One big one that you didnt mention is that if your partner leaves the house for some time maybe a night or a weekend and comes home to see that no food has been consumed in the house, the thing you said you has dinner the night before is still in the cupboard etc. At my worst point i was hiding food from the cupboards or throwing it in the skip so my partner didnt know i hadnt eaten for 2 whole days while she was away but sometimes id forget to hide food and she would be visably confused that i hadnt eaten anything but she didnt use and wasn't familier with drug behaviour and just found it odd. To someone who knew to look for that it would have been an early red flag

This is very good and valuable information you are sharing that I think could really help a lot of people. Maybe it could help someone who has a friend, girlfriend/boyfriend or husband/wife or family member who is addicted to drugs when this person might not have realised there was a drug problem going on. I think you are very brave for making RUclips videos about your past drug addictions.
