As a recovering coke addict you hit the nail on the head with angel and devil on the shoulder thing. Thats how i describe too, i know i only have 50 quid to last 2 weeks and that its enough to get food and i know if i spend it im literally fucked for 2 weeks. Yet an hour later ill ring and get a half and leave myself having to go to food banks and borrow money to feed myself for the next 2 weeks. Im not a bad person but i did stupid things like that all the time to feed the habbit. The worst part is, when i have no money im absolutely fine without it, i dont crave it or anything and can function perfectly fine. But for some reason as soon as any money lands in my bank and i KNOW i can get it, i get it immediately and dont give a fuck what i needed to keep the money for and worry about that later. That part i dont understand. That self destructive behaviour, but not a full blown addiction. After my last line im rattling for about 24h to 36h then after that im fine, i dont really think about it if i have no money. So why can i go 4 weeks without any and not think about it to going and spending 100 quid straight up the minute i get money and rattling for more, lying, borrowing money to get more, i dont get it. Its like my alternate personality just takes over and the real me is just a prisoner to this other person

I think since you don't do it for long periods of time you subconsciously don't think it's a problem. It will become one though, it always does. If I were you I'd do everything in my power to stop while you're ahead so to speak. When it does get to that point going 3-4 weeks without could be very, very bad. Granted coke doesn't make you sick for weeks like opiates but still. I wouldn't push it.

When I would hear the FedEx truck at 3pm I would be sooooo happy, all the dopesickness was gone and now I can get high and stay awake for 3 days be high as a kite until id chew 4mg of Xanax to get some sleep. Nothing else mattered to me, my house went to shit, I ended up $40000 in debt and spent the summer of 2006 on my couch unable to eat or sleep. Never going through that again. I've had several surgeries since and have been able to take lortabs as prescribed with no after effects since. So not worth the pain of withdrawal.

I agree drug addicts arent bad people , but at some point you have to come to the understanding they are very selfish and only they can change themselves (former user here). Drug addicts become narcissistic in a sense because they only care about feeding their needs and addictions at all costs , no matter who they hurt in the process . Although I do sympathize for anyone going through addiction , you have to want to CHANGE and quit blaming everyone but yourself

Not still sure since I never tried heroin and never will. Does it felt amazing? Is the effect kinda like... An example as the best way to describe... You're laying in the bathtub feeling so good and warm and the sun shine through the window in the bathroom as the sun is about the set. Or you sit by the window and you happen to enjoy sitting by the window with the sun draping through with no curtain and it happens that you appear to be living on childhood memories and forget about everything the way it is right now, forgetting about the future and you just enjoy your moment. Is that what it feels like? Just asking.

never done it but i have done many opioids. a common description i hear about how it feels is “take the best orgasm you’ve ever felt, multiply it by 1000 and you’re still not even close to how it feels”. opioids feel like laying on the softest bed with a weighted blanket, its like ultimate cozy, a hug from God if you will, with an intense euphoria. i can only imagine H is like that just much much stronger and far more euphoric.

can you sleep while you are awake?? opposite circumstances in the same time??in short, heroin makes that possible( for me.).(not the perfect answer.and if we talk about how it feels like..it's really difficult.all your switches and connections are off. even your mind is half off..everything is off..but not like the trippy dissociatives such as PCP,K or DXM..just like u'r having a sleep.but awake.feeling a deep deep individuality and neutralisation(i mean in an artificial way)..
