My wife and I had the privilege of hearing him sing "Bring Him Home' when he was with the Les Miserables cast in New York City. Other him singing, you could have heard a pin drop. One of those times at a performance when the hair on the back of my neck stood up. A memorable performance.

Two things happened for me, 1) I had to resist the urge to join in singing along with Alfie, as I adore the song & 2) it was one of five occasions during the festival that I had tears in my eyes. A sublime performance in memory of my fallen comrades.
I would have been bawling the whole time, considering my connection through my grandfather's service as a B-24 Liberator pilot in WWII and my adoration of him as a person.
