My grandson did the same 6 yrs ago I truly feel God felt he had suffered enough. I’m sure your son is in Gods hands with no more suffering or pain. Prayers for him and your family
I am so sorry about your brother. We just lost a son. My only consolation is that now he is in a place where Jesus Christ can work with him. He loved goodness but he didn't love himself. Everyone else loved him...
Your dear son is looking down watching over you and sending you love. May you find some peace in the knowledge that he is close. I thank him for serving our Country and send prayers to you for comfort🙏🏻
My wife an I always remember our son Alex when we hear this amazing song. Alex passed away when he was just fifteen and we knew then as we know now he wasn't dead. He just went back home to our Heavenly Father. Some day we'll be reunited again because families are forever.
This was My prayer when my wife was struggling with a rare disease.. "GOD.. PLEASE BRING HER HOME...TO ME.." She passed away 3-months ago..after we celebrated our 44th-Anniversary😢.. The Good LORD BROUGHT HER HOME TO A MUCH PERFECT PLACE than l can ever offer..😥🙏
I have to attend the funeral of a young man who died in a freak accident last Thursday and he leaves behind a wife and two young sons and a baby on the way. I'm old and battling cancer. I honestly wish I could exchange my life for his. I've lived a full life and experienced many things, he has sons who will never know how truly amazing their father was.
This was my prayer when my granddaughter had to undergo an 8 hour heart operation. Thanks to God and the medical team she came home... I cry every time I hear it. Beautiful rendition.
one night I couldn't stop listening to this. The next day I heard my nephew died. He was living on the streets alcohol ruined him. It brought so much peace to me and his family! Blessing!
What you don't hear in this recording is the entire 22,000 seat house holding their breath through the end, then the 3-4 minute standing ovation. It was a spiritual experience.
Hayley Bell that’s interesting because so many times in these live concerts you always hear so many coughs, sneezes, bangs and all sorts of fidgety noises. Wonderful!
As great as this performance was, his performance of this song at the 25th anniversary concert of Les Miserables was MAGICAL. It also totally changed his life.
I'm an atheist, but if anything ever persuaded me to believe in God, it would be Alfie Boe's voice. It's so wonderful, truly a gift. Thank you for sharing it with us Mr Boe!

Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they pour forth knowledge....their voice goes out into all the earth...’ Psalm 19:1-4. Oh yes. My mum died when I was just a child.... My father was incredibly hurt, as they were both relatively young, and still very much in love.... Now, as I am now mature, my Father had wanted one day, to be buried with our 'mum' .... And now that he too has now passed, his dream came true.... And he is now laid to rest on top of my Mum in the grave.... So now he has 'truly' Come Home....
Thinking of 72-year-old Italian priest Don Giuseppe Berardelli, who died in March after giving up his ventilator to a younger person during the Corona Virus.
It was three weeks before Christmas when my older brother passed away! In 2023 ! I feel that loss still deeply and Alfie Boe's way with this - brings it home to me!
This is without question in my mind, the best version of this amazing song. How Alfie Boe can go from such a sweet whisper to strong vehemence is so incredible.
My son is home but he is not... praying he will return to his true self... to his real home in his heart. My love for you son is boundless and I will always pray you come home... to your real home.
My parents were in the choir for 10 years. My mom told me that the reason Boe's performance was so breathtaking is because he prays as he sings, making the song his prayer to God. I've been going to their Christmas concerts since I was in fourth grade, but I will never forget that concert because of the moment he sang this song. It was absolutely astounding. The entire audience was enraptured and hardly dared to breathe or look away. Though it was the middle of the concert, when he finished we all screamed and gave him a standing ovation. I will never forget that. It was a sacred moment.
Thank you for your beautifully tender story about this performance. "Music, the greatest good that mortals know. And all of heaven we have here below." Joseph Addison
I saw him perform this live in 2012. His manager was sitting behind me. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house. I had the honor of meeting Alfie. He is such an amazing and kind man. This is about as close as you get to hearing him live. Honestly a life changing experience.
When I listen to this song, at this time when the world is dying of COVID19, I pray to my Heavenly father to save us and for those who have died I hope they will go home to their father who created them safely. Its a hope song
I think of it for all who have left this earth. Here in Belfast a 14 year old boy disappeared last Sunday in bizarre circumstances. His body was found today. I have been listening to this and thinking of little Noah Donohoe all day 💔💔💔💔🙏🏽xxx
My husband had to be in Vietnam - and he said that when he heard this rendition of “The Prayer” that -that is exactly how he felt every time he had to take his men out to do “ops,” ... his only desire was to to bring back ALL of his men with as few casualties for the others as possible ... his desire was so blessed & so obvious that men from other platoons would offer their services because they could see just how devoted to the safety of his men he was ... & also how devoted to causing as few enemy casualties as possible ... in a war that didn’t really admit to many enemy casualties ... at the time. “He always brought his men back alive” ... those were their words !!! “Bring Him Home” always made him cry ... he felt the responsibility and the desire to lose no one ... no one on either side ... that’s what meant the most to his men ... “Bring Him Home” was always his daily prayer ... always ...
This bring tears to my eyes thinking of all those men and women who are in the frontline fighting this dreaded unseen COVID-19... My heart goes out to all the families of our doctors, nurses and other allied medical personnel, the men and women in uniform and all the rest who comprise our frontliners... May you all be safe
I too lost a brother and a father back a few years due to a bad trip to San Carlos, Mexico. We received news that something had happened and I prayed that all would be well. As we continued searching for them and yet no peace for my mother and the family. During this time I was in a church meeting, searching in my soul for answers, just then a gentleman (I think his last name was Greer) sang this song. And it touched me to my soul and I couldn't hold back the tears. I wish I was with my brother and father - we did have some peace when the 2 "boys" accosted them finally spoke and we retrieved their bodies, almost 2 years to the day.. I can't bring them home, but this is very tender to me and reminds me of what my brother and father lost and our family. I only remember the last words I said to my brother, "Watch yourself." My mom has since passed and she is with her little one and with her eternal partner. I apologize, for my writing as my tears keep the screen a little blurry, what a beautiful song.
I’m so sorry. I hope you allow Jesus to being you His comfort like Only He can. He loves us all beyond measure. And proved it so long ago. He is our ultimate Peace. Truly, He is.🕊
I love the fact that every time I've seen Alfie Boe perform this song, he looks like he's really praying. It feels like the words and the pain they represent are his
His voice soothes my heart. His expression of emotion is from heaven. May God bless him through his life! This has always been my prayer for my missionaries .
@@snowleaves There is also a DVD available of the 25th anniversary production of Les Mis from the O2 theater in London. Alfie sings the lead in it. You can find it on Amazon.
I was in the audience for this concert on Sunday morning. I cannot express how much Alfie's version speaks to my soul. I often come listen to this version when I am struggling. Breathtaking.
Alfie Boe gave justice to this heavenly song with his perfect pitch from start to finish! I can listen all day and night! I love the song and the singer! Hurrah!
I'm not really a very religious person but each time I hear this song esp ALFIE BOE'S version, I feel like I'm taken to a different place; and tears just flow endlessly.
The truly remarkable thing about Alfie's interpretation of this song, is that it moves the audience EVERY single time at every single performance. I was at one of his concerts...He sings every word from his pores...The man could sing his ABC's and we would be mesmerized. I was lucky enough to hear him a few years ago live... this song and Rank Stranger are my absolute favorites. If you haven't checked it out... he has a few goofy videos on RUclips singing duets... He Ain't Heavy he's my brother is phenomenal... especially when you realize he is just sitting with his legs in front of him chilling out on the kitchen counter... and the power of his voice is incredible! BTW I am a music teacher with a Master of Music in Performance so it takes alot to impress me. What I respect the most is artists who share their shining light. Alfie does.
If you have no religion, your heart must be pure to love this song. Please investigate The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and see if we have something to offer you. Learning about and later joining it changed my life forever for good. May the Lord encircle you forever in the arms of his love. Sincerely, Linda Joyner
When I would accompany my husband on the piano and he would sing this, it was all I could do to keep the tears from blurring my eyes as I read the sheet music. He's gone now and I miss his beautiful voice and hope that he's singing with Alife because this was one of his favorites.
To my late cousin who just passed away Christopher Teoh Pek Wai, he is young with a lovely wife & 3 small happily kids ...Gods love him more & take away from his wife and his family .....his suffer, pain and left behind a fond of memories - RIP brother!
What a voice. This is my favorite song from “Les Miserables”. It brings tears to my eyes! This singer feels every word. He sings it with passion and conviction!
Alfie Boe was discovered singing to the radio while he polished cars in a car factory in the North of England. This summer he will play the lead role in Les Miserables as Jean Val Jean in London's West End for the last time. This is a bucket list item. Make sure you get a ticket, as rare as they are.
Every time I watch this, it brings a tear to my eye. I love the part when he sings "If I die, let me die" with arms stretched wide like a cross, symbolic of Christ's prayer to the Father on our behalf.
When i hear this, i thing of all our young men at war, waiting for the day when all the turmoil ends so we can bring them all home. May God keep them safe.
I heard this incredibly beautiful song recently at the funeral of a young 37 year old cancer doctor who died suddenly in Memorial Sloan Kettering while working and helping others. The sentiment and tenderness in this song asking that the young be allowed to live their lives touches me deeply. I don’t know how that young doctor’s partner, parents and siblings will be able to come to terms with a young life snuffed out.
Alfie, you have the most beautiful tenor voice I have ever heard. I weep every time I hear you sing this. What an incredible, beautiful soul you are. 🎼💕🥹🇫🇷
No one can sing this beautiful song as well as Alfie Boe!!!! He OWNS this song as well as the remainder of his role in "Les Miserables!" I am firmly convinced that had they used this cast for the movie version, it would have won EVERY Oscar!!!
Bring Him Home is a showstopper. I’m no match for Alfie, but I still recall a karaoke party we had in our club, sort of noisy, nobody paying a lot of attention to the performers…. I asked for the DJ to start Bring Him Home…. Three bars into it I had the crowd silenced, rapt, wondering who this old guy with the voice was…. It’s the song as much as the performer, as everyone is captured by the lyric…. But is was a real ego boost to hear applause when I finished.
Perhaps you would know the difference between a falsetto and a true high tenor better than I. Or perhaps, knowing more than I, you know that, actually, there's no difference. If either one of these things is the case, I'll defer to you. However, if there IS a difference, I would say that Mr. Boe is a true high tenor. I have a decent falsetto. I can, for example, sing that part in "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" pretty well. Alas, however, otherwise, I was not blessed with a true tenor voice, nor was I blessed with a true bass voice: I was CURSED with a baritone voice! ;-D
Finally got my brothers ashes home and putting him to rest this weekend with my dad, this is our song for him. God bless you all who have lost a family member.
This was played at my Nans funeral. She loved this song, it's beautiful and makes me think of her every time I listen to it. Rest well Nan. We all miss you 09/04/2017
When this full program aired on BYU TV for the first time I honestly just kind of had it playing in the background while I did dishes and other things. Then this performance came on. Next thing I know I am standing in my living room being brought to tears by what I believe has to be one of the most moving performances of all time.
I have listened to this version of Bring Him Home so many times I have lost count, and yet it almost brings me to tears every single time. The spiritual power that Alfie Boe instills into this prayer is truly breathtaking.
I can see from the comments that this song means many things to different people. I heard this on the radio the other day when I was reflecting about today, November the 11th. Remembrance Day. It really held a double meaning for me and moved me to tears. This is the most beautiful rendition of this song I've ever heard.
Oh my God! I literally forgot to breathe for 5 minutes. This is the most wonderful thing I've ever heard. He did it with such passion, such exquisite taste. Mind blowing!
This is the man who should have played Jean Valjean in the movie. Hugh Jackman should have been Javert. Russell Crowe should have been in the chorus somewhere.
theatregirl the point in a film they weren't professional singers Alfie Boe for obvious reasons is not a professional singer is outstanding an amazing in fact there are many words that is superfluous to description is voice is a gift from God
The best version of Bring Him Home I have ever heard, brings me to tears every time. I had the pleasure of meeting Alfie this week and he was such a lovely man, deserves all the success in the world.
I love that you don't have to be lds to absolutely love these songs. They just touch the heart in ways that many thing cannot. Please enjoy...everyone.
Over 2 years before appearing here singing this song, Boe played Jean Valjean in the 25th Anniversery Concert at the O2 Arena in London. His rendition of "Bring Him Home" still remains one of the best.
Enjoy Alfie Boe's singing and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir playing the music of Les Misérables "Bring HIm Home." Thank you so very much for this posting. I am a Vietnam veteran and was most fortunate to be able to come home safely. I can relate tothis heat-wrenching song. Gratefully, Robert S.J. Hu May 1, 2020.
I was driving about 14 yrs ago roughly and I was involved in a car accident when I was driving and my best mate died so this song means so so much to me, I wish he could come back to earth and I could die for him, I miss him so so much x

Hayley Bell that’s interesting because so many times in these live concerts you always hear so many coughs, sneezes, bangs and all sorts of fidgety noises. Wonderful!
I played this song to my elderly mother and it made her cry....she died a month ago and I miss her so very much. Love you Mum.
I also recently lost my mother.. just heartbreaking
Bless you. Heartbreaking. Take care ❤️x
I'm deeply sorry for your loss. May your mother rest in peace.
❤my Dad loved this performance. It was our song during hospice. He is now home.
i send you hugs..
You could probably fill a swimming pool with all the tears people have cried watching Les Miserables over the years.
Now a few more
Make that pool into an ocean.
He will be safe. My father took his 17 years ago . I had a message that told me he was safe and with god. God bless you

AMEN. A HEAVENLY VOICE. HE IS SO GIFTED N SPIRITUAL. WHAT AN INCREDIABLE GIFT TO THE WORLD!!!💕💕💕🌈🎇
I am surprised the viewings of this video are only half a million, I must have watched it at least a thousand myself!
Every time I watch this, it brings a tear to my eye. I love the part when he sings "If I die, let me die" with arms stretched wide like a cross, symbolic of Christ's prayer to the Father on our behalf.
"Wherefore, Father, spare these my brethren that believe on my name, that they may come unto me and have everlasting life."
many symbolic happenings during this Marvellous story by Victor Hugo! Do read it if not already!
When i hear this, i thing of all our young men at war, waiting for the day when all
the turmoil ends so we can bring them all home. May God keep them safe.
This is the the most powerful and emotional rendition of his song I've ever heard.
I heard this incredibly beautiful song recently at the funeral of a young 37 year old cancer doctor who died suddenly in Memorial Sloan Kettering while working and helping others. The sentiment and tenderness in this song asking that the young be allowed to live their lives touches me deeply. I don’t know how that young doctor’s partner, parents and siblings will be able to come to terms with a young life snuffed out.
what an amazing song, still to this day makes me cry, so touching and moving.
Missing my Dad tonight. This performance really helps.
Alfie, you have the most beautiful tenor voice I have ever heard. I weep every time I hear you sing this. What an incredible, beautiful soul you are. 🎼💕🥹🇫🇷
This is an incredible example of why we need our live theatre back! 2020 the year the lights went out on the marquis all over the world! So very sad!
I anxiously await the day you can become a member of the Choir. I know you will get there!
This should be the tune we all listen too in regards to the COVID -19 situation
On a scale of 1-10... 12!!!! ... GLORIOUS!!!
You mean a 20!!!
no he means 30

Alfie sings this 8 times a week currently on Broadway. But this performance is very, very special.
No one can sing this beautiful song as well as Alfie Boe!!!! He OWNS this song as well as the remainder of his role in "Les Miserables!" I am firmly convinced that had they used this cast for the movie version, it would have won EVERY Oscar!!!
When my husband died and later when I picked up his ashes, I heard this song in my mind ... I did 'bring him home'.
This song was used for my grandad funeral as he loved this song. Was so emotional and everytine I hear this song, I think of my grandad 💔💔
This song made me touch the heaven. God gave us a gift with this incomparable voice and prayer
This song is proof that God exists. It just is. I can't explain why.
But is was a real ego boost to hear applause when I finished.
wow his falsetto is flawless! beautiful performance
Alas, however, otherwise, I was not blessed with a true tenor voice, nor was I blessed with a true bass voice: I was CURSED with a baritone voice! ;-D
Well he did play Valjean in the actual production. So of course he is absolutely fantastic at this.
He's a true high tenor. His range is up to at least c. He had to train to deliver the baritone parts.
This song has a very personal meaning for me. In tears and thanking God for my son.
Finally got my brothers ashes home and putting him to rest this weekend with my dad, this is our song for him. God bless you all who have lost a family member.
One of the best voices in the world is singing a anthem from heaven
This was played at my Nans funeral. She loved this song, it's beautiful and makes me think of her every time I listen to it.
Rest well Nan. We all miss you

When this full program aired on BYU TV for the first time I honestly just kind of had it playing in the background while I did dishes and other things. Then this performance came on. Next thing I know I am standing in my living room being brought to tears by what I believe has to be one of the most moving performances of all time.
This song breaks all the barriers of religious beliefs and addresses God universally . Such soothing comfort in this sung prayer .
I have listened to this version of Bring Him Home so many times I have lost count, and yet it almost brings me to tears every single time. The spiritual power that Alfie Boe instills into this prayer is truly breathtaking.
Anybody who doesn't, like this, their taste is all in their mouth. Just beautiful.
I agree!
My favorite!!! Hands down the best Jean Val jean. His voice is just special
I think it is safe to assume that even the Choir was in awe of this performance.
I had the great fortune of seeing Alfie in Les Miz on Broadway. An experience I wil never forget.
I can see from the comments that this song means many things to different people. I heard this on the radio the other day when I was reflecting about today, November the 11th. Remembrance Day.
It really held a double meaning for me and moved me to tears. This is the most beautiful rendition of this song I've ever heard.
I love this as a Remembrance day tribute.... Perfect and fitting
@@kenfoan4177 yes. Exactly the right sentiment for Remembrance Sunday
And people compare Josh Groben to this Man Not even close Alfie is a Legend
Oh my God! I literally forgot to breathe for 5 minutes. This is the most wonderful thing I've ever heard. He did it with such passion, such exquisite taste. Mind blowing!
This is the man who should have played Jean Valjean in the movie. Hugh Jackman should have been Javert. Russell Crowe should have been in the chorus somewhere.
theatregirl the point in a film they weren't professional singers Alfie Boe for obvious reasons is not a professional singer is outstanding an amazing in fact there are many words that is superfluous to description is voice is a gift from God
theatregirl lol
Hugh jack man would be a bad javert, though its rare to see a good javert. They're always awfully cast.
No. Jackman was great as Valjean. They should have cast Alan Rickman as Javert for the movie
With respect, who says Alfie Boe can act?
The best version of Bring Him Home I have ever heard, brings me to tears every time. I had the pleasure of meeting Alfie this week and he was such a lovely man, deserves all the success in the world.
I have listened to Alfie sing this beautiful emotional song. Still brings tears to my eyes. Well done Alfie.
Wow. I mean, I'm absolutely in love with Colm Wilkinson's version, but this ... this is transcendent.
I love that you don't have to be lds to absolutely love these songs. They just touch the heart in ways that many thing cannot. Please enjoy...everyone.
My Grandfather and I used to sit in the sunlight and listen to these classics. On a Saturday afternoon. I miss him so much
This rendition transcends this world.
Beautiful and so emotional. I especially love it when an opera singer can sing softly.
Interesting, your observation. I was just thinking the same thing.
Nothing beats his 25th Anniversary stage version, but this wonderful to listen to.
Over 2 years before appearing here singing this song, Boe played Jean Valjean in the 25th Anniversery Concert at the O2 Arena in London. His rendition of "Bring Him Home" still remains one of the best.
Every Parent who ever had to say goodbye to a child, said this prayer.
It is so beautiful that it actually makes my heart ache! That kind of talent comes from Heaven!
Debbie Larsen Amen!
That’s exactly what it does 💔💔💔💔xxx
Nope. He’s from Blackpool, Lancashire.
I was driving about 14 yrs ago roughly and I was involved in a car accident when I was driving and my best mate died so this song means so so much to me, I wish he could come back to earth and I could die for him, I miss him so so much x
So sorry.
Let Jesus bring you His Peace.🎚🕊
