You have to hand it to Motley Crue’s manager for being so cool and letting Steve-O come back stage to meet the band and giving him 5th row tickets. You figure, that is literally the opposite of what most big band managers would do. Most managers would have told him off and to stay the eff away from the hotel. That’s really cool of him to reward the kid for his persistence.

    • @Google_Does_Evil_Now

Good guy and maybe he's a manager because he was once a kid who liked bands now he manages them.

It was the kid sounding voice that got him. Here you are a big wig band manager and you’re on the phone with some kid fanatic that just called every hotel just to talk to them.

This story is cool as hell. I have a similar story (definitely not as cool as Steve-O). Anyway, back in 1998 I wanted to go see Metallica in Atlanta. I was 14 and my dad said no. I said “what if I win tickets off the radio?” he said “deal” and laughed but shook my hand. The day of the concert the radio station played 3 Metallica songs really fast and blended them together. I used a tape and recorded it. I called in, named the 3 songs, and won 2 tickets. You should have seen my dads face when I told him he had to take me to see Metallica on a Friday night! We went and had a blast (I think my Dad just suffered through it) The best part was we were in the 10th row

I have a similar story with meeting Steveo a few years back. He came to my hometown to a 21+ comedy club and I was 16 or 17 at the time. Ended up running into the manager of the comedy club, she took us up to the show and let all the security know that we were with her. The manager ended up kicking 2 people out of their seats so we could watch the show. Then the manager put us first in line for the meet and greet. Told steveo the story and he thought it was awesome. Definitely something I’ll remember for life.

I saw all 4 band members from Type O Negative behind the Utica Auditorium way back in 96 or was it 97? Had no idea it was them until about an hour and a half later when they took the stage lol. I had heard Black # 1 and Love You To Death on the radio, but never saw a poster or anything, and didn't have the internet until 99, when i told my friends i saw them, naturally they called me a f'ing idiot for not knowing who they were, and not approaching them.

Love Steve O now. So much better now that he's clean. I would have killed to meet Motley Crue back in the 80's. Went to one concert where Tommy Lee's drum kit was circling the ceiling of the arena and the track got stuck. He was directly above us and couldn't get down, so security had to clear a space around him and lower the drum kit almost to the floor of the arena and he jumped down about 5 feet from us. The crowd just collapsed in on him, but he somehow got away and made it back to the stage to play the next set. Crazy. That was in like 88 or 89 I believe. Dr. Feelgood tour.
