I am back to frifty and frugal ways. It felt nice spending a bit of money but now it’s save save save for the big day - Christmas (am I allowed to say that in October ) 😂
I skip over Christmas everyone I know has everything they need and don't want more. My mom is in a nursing home with severe dementia I visit everyday and take treats many days. For some reason the nursing home gets fruit but not bananas so that is a treat when I take a couple bunches out and she shares and they all love cookies. Mom was 90 on the 20th of September
Big expenses can be scary. We've been putting off new carpeting in our family room for too many years. It is 37 years old! New will be installed tomorrow. The price has more than doubled in that amount of time. We are fortunate we can pay for it with savings. Houses can eat up a lot of money, but they are important to take care of. Glad you got the fence sorted out.

Booths has , I think, around 27 branches in the North West - mostly Cumbria and Lancashire. They are known as the Waitrose of the North. We go to the Lakes a lot and Booths is my favourite supermarket. The trick is to shop in Sainsbury's, Lidl or Aldi in Kendal and take food from there. Booths is lovely for treats which we budget for when we go. Hope that helps!

My sympathy to you as I’ve got lurgi too. At least you had a nice holiday. Madness about the keys though and all that extra faff, especially when you’re not feeling great. Hope your week goes well. Hope mums doing okay too.x
I had a rotten head cold a couple of weeks ago, which was unusual for me. Even if the whole family is sick, it usually skips me. Hope you feel better soon and the chaos dies down.
Bought our Christmas pudding on boxing day last year and have started buying Christmas presents tend to buy them through the year, have also bought our Christmas joint and frozen it. As you can see I like to be organized 😂

My friend came back from her holiday abroad feeling exactly the same..10 days now .. I used to fly a lot and called it the 'air con' cough... every time...I blame all this silly weather .. everyone is coughing spluttering and snuffling.. 😆
There are Booths across the North West, I think it’s the flagship store in The Lakes. We have one near us and it’s definitely a treat shop and yes on a par with Waitrose but has lots of local produce too. I would much rather have spent the money on carpet. Ours are awful!
