    IF you open up a broth and don't need it all you can freeze the rest in a ice cube tray and then once frozen transfer it to a ziplock freezer bag and then if you need a little broth it is ready for you. Sometimes it is nice to have just those cubes in case you don't feel good and then you can drink it or if you just like to drink broth. I would also like to say I love you having Josh home it is nice to see him. And can't wait for the big harvest with your parents what a blessing they are.

    I thought the price was so good for what you got! As I was watching, I was thinking “this has got to be at least $2k worth of meat” so the fact that you got such good quality meat at what was the lowest end of my estimate is a fantastic deal. Not to mention you know exactly how the cow was raised and you’re supporting two local businesses at the same time!

    Rump roast..in the pressure cooker makes the BEST french dip sandwiches and roast beef.
    I dredge the roast with flour ..brown it on all sides (avocado oil)..two large onions(food processor)..water to cover roast..
    Reserve some juices for the au jus.
    A flour slurry to make gravy with the rest of the meat juices
    roast beef ..
    Been cooking it this way for 60 years (in my grandmother's pressure cooker)❤

    Hey Becky! Beef Bourguignon is the name of the French stew you were trying to recall and a boneless top round roast makes the best roasted roast beef for sandwiches (deli sliced roast beef style). Next time, you might want to consider getting a top and a bottom round. Cut the bottom round into generous sized chunks and make an Indian beef dish called Nihari. I am sure you will love it...(a long and slow cooked beef in a slightly spicy rich onion gravy). This was a very nicely done video.

    My butcher/ rancher is an all-in-one service. You just call and tell them how much you want quarter half etc. And they tell you the price per pound. They also have quarter front and quarter back options if you prefer one over the other.

    My mother-in-law would always make roast beef sandwiches with rump roast. Here is her recipe:
    Ingredients
    * Rump Roast
    * Fresh green peppers, sliced
    * Salt and pepper
    * AuJus broth
    * 4 cups Beef broth
    * 1 packet McCormick Powdered AuJus Gravy packet
    Instructions
    - [ ] Bake the rump roast until it registers rare 120°-125° at a temperature of 325° for 1.25-1.75 hours
    - [ ] Cool roast and refrigerate
    - [ ] Thinly slice the beef once cooled.
    - [ ] Layer
    - [ ] In a crockpot placed a layer of your thinly sliced meat
    - [ ] Lightly salt and pepper
    - [ ] Sprinkle a few sliced green peppers on top of meat
    - [ ] Repeat layers until you have used all the meat.
    - [ ] Mix beef broth and AuJus Gravy pack with a whisk until combined.
    - [ ] Pour beef broth mixture over layered beef. Beef should be covered with the broth mixture. Depending on how much beef you have, you might need to mix up additional AuJus broth.
    - [ ] Cook in crockpot on high for 6-8 hours
    - [ ] Serve on French bread, yeast rolls, ciabatta bread, Hawaiian rolls, or baguettes. For Beef dip sandwiches, serve some of the juice in a side bowl for dipping.

      I would love to cook this recipe. Do you have oven temperature and time to reach 125. I'm thinking around 250 maybe 2 hours.

    Hello, i have recently watched a few videos where some youtubers had their freezers fail and they were not old freezers. They purchased alarms for both their freezers and fridges. I have also recently purchased an alarm for both of mine. Thank you for sharing this video, i have been looking into this and have found a good reputable farm for my purchase.

    We raised a miniature cow bull calf for 2 years and just put him in the freezer this summer. We got 297 pounds of meat that we got to watch the butcher cut up. Then we also got 70 pounds of scraps and bones for our dogs. Plus all the edible organs and the tongue. We did the math and it worked out to about $5.75 per pound for grass fed and finished beef.

    I grew up eating Rump roasts on Sundays. We
    /my mom just cook in the oven around 350 on a roasting rack w water under neath (season and wrap foil around it to keep in juices). Depending on the size and if you prefer medium rare, medium, etc….55 yers later, I still cook rump roasts for my family. We love it medium rare and love leftovers for beef sandwiches.

    We have been ordering local beef for the past couple years as well. I love the variety of cuts that I get, and it has been a fun challenge to learn how to cook them all and I have found several new favorite recipes. I would love for you to show us more about how you turn the organs into dog food - the first year that I ordered I received lots of beef liver, and I had no idea what to do with it (husband is a hard "no" on eating liver).

When you cook and taste your food or say "I wish you were all here to smell how wonderful it smells in here!!". Imagine if we could all smell it, and taste it together with you!!!

    I like to buy a large pork loin at Aldi and cook it on my grill rotisserie. In the winter I'll bake it in a Römertopf clay pot in the oven.
    I wish that I had the ability to have a chest freezer full of meats. I'll just have to live vicariously through you 😊.
