Poor Greiger. I truly believe that he and Carly were a case of 'wrong place at the wrong time'...somehow I feel like they weren't meant to be Dark Signers. It just so happens that they got ensnared.
Right but it's like the dark likes to feed off and manipulated the sadness, desperation, and hatred in ones heart to achieve it's ends. That's kind of the point of those two characters situations.

Tio be fair turbo dules that aren't done on the streets are regulated. It's jutst like fighting, street fighting will always be dangerous. Plus, only really lucky people have dual runners. Crow and Yusei had to build their runners.

Crow didn't make his duel runner his friend vanished so he gave it to him.

Twice, CJ?? I'll give only once. Silverwind, yes, if it weren't for the images of Greiger's villagers appearing inside Chacu Challua that made him stop. Prior to Synchro Summoning him, though, NO HE CAN'T (easily destroy it, that is). Here's why not.
Fane the Steel Chain forced Chacu Challua into defense position, and that locked Crow out of his battle phase (he can't conduct it while Chacu Challua is defending). So attacking with Shura and Blizzard isn't an option, and Fane wasn't strong enough to end the duel by himself. Crow had to Synchro Summon to give himself the best chance of winning the duel.
That was insane! CROW did what was literally impossible and He did it with his skill without some mambojambo! Awesome!!!!
Anyone that gets up and willingly fights a shadow duel gets my love lol

Wait a minute, Greiger said Goodwin's computer showed him what happened to his village and says that the crimson dragon is responsible. Just what exactly did he find that showed what happened but didn't specify it as the dark signers' fault? Was it an email sent to Goodwin saying "Check out this exploding village, lol."?
Goodwin tried summoning the crimson dragon and used his village as a testing ground. The dark signers also had nothing to do with it 😂😂
Roman just used his anger towards Goodwin to manipulate him :3

I think Yusei realized some of the people were part of Greiger's family when he showed what Rex Goodwin's attempt to control the power of the Crimson Dragon did to his village after their duel in the Fortune Cup.
Nobody's talking about how Silverwind the Ascendant's effect gets canceled due to plot and Crow's turn is forcibly ended
In the original, the situation was more akin to 'before Crow could activate the effect, the kids show up' so he just ends his turn instead of activating Silverwind's effect because he doesn't want to risk hurting the kids. It's kinda like how Yusei wasn't prepared to hurt Rally when Roman pulled the switcheroo.
for someone who appears about three times, I like that Greiger had four boss monsters, two of which were DARK Machine monsters

@Jay Harv28 I'll agree...Greiger isn't afraid to duel honorably, something Keith can't seem to do. That's why he got his butt handed to him by Joey. 😂😂😂😂 And then his defeat 'doesn't count'...I swear Pegasus deep inside was laughing at him all the way to the bank until it was time to put up or shut up against Yugi (or Atem, rather).

Well it's never been shown so I don't know how accurate it is but apparently the speed world text allows use of regular spells at the cost of 2000 life points.
Turbo Duels don't have restrictions on Deck Building, i.e you can include as many Normal, Continuous, Quick-Play, Rituals & even Field Spells in your Deck as you want, but you can't activate them because they're not Speed Spells. As such, the practice in the anime was to swap out all the Spells in your Deck for your Speed Spells before starting a Turbo Duel, then switching everything back after it ended.
IIRC the 2000LP burn comes from video games which don't have a built-in Deck restriction for Turbo Duels (i.e won't let you include non-Speed Spells).
Somehow i wonder how well Crow, Greiger and Broder would get along, considering they all get along well with little kids.

For a show about card games, 5D's can get very tragic.
Watched no this again makes me realise that not only are the Dark Signers evil counterparts to the 5 eventual Signers, but they’re decks are thematically opposite as well.

Luke Deakin for this episode, Greiger is played up as an opposite to Crow. Whereas Crow grew up in poor conditions without family but still valuing those close to him, Greiger came from a middle class family and left them behind in order to try and change his way in life. And while Crow uses a deck themed around birds, Greiger’s consists of both flying machines and things you’d find at sea.

@@JuniusHalsey Hmm...I would believe that if Chacu Challua weren't still in play. I think what you're getting at is that had Crow attacked with Shura the Blue Flame and is successful taking down Chacu Challua (doable, since Chacu Challua had 1600 defense and Shura has 1800 attack), then Blizzard the Far North can come behind him and finish the duel. But there's a problem with that -- Greiger's Earthbound Immortal was in defense mode thanks to Fane, and while it's in defense mode, Crow couldn't conduct his battle phase, meaning if he did what you said instead of Synchro Summoning Silverwind the Ascendant, he'd actually be a sitting duck and Greiger wins. He pretty much *had* to Synchro Summon.

What chance would anybody have against a deck filled with these earthbound immortals: Chacu Challhua, Uru, Asilla Piscu, Cusillu, Ccarayhua, Ccapac Apu, Cuauhcoatl, Huacachina Kon, Itzpezpalotl, Xolotl, and Underlord Cthulhu
An amazing chance. They would brick with all those monsters , they need a field spell and there can only be one earthbound on the field.

The Monkey used Duel Monsters Spirits and the Whale used Greiger Village souls… and those participating in the duel don’t get affected like Sayer.. there is no plot armor

Great episode, real emotional power house, and I really feel for Grieger. BUUUT- Couldn’t Crow have attacked Grieger directly with Faye instead of Synchro Summoning Silverwind, and won that way?
A previous poster asked the same thing, and the answer is no. Fane the Steel Chain wasn't powerful enough to take the rest of Greiger's life points; 500 attack vs. 800 remaining life points. The reason is simple -- Chacu Challua is still on the field. More importantly, Fane attacking Greiger directly on Crow's previous turn put Chacu Challua in defense position -- that prevents Crow from ending the duel with Shura the Blue Flame and Blizzard the Far North attacking because he can't initiate his battle phase while Chacu Challua is in defense position. That means he was pretty much *forced* to Synchro Summon Silverwind the Ascendant.
Building falls grigor, yusei like you "Are you okay?" No nigga a fucking building fell on him!

How did grieger's people end up in the earthbound immortal? Just asking because goodwin and doctor zigzigs said something about using the village as a testing ground for the crimson dragon. So, did they really summon the earthbound immortal and then the people just showed up when the earthbound immortal was summoned? Just asking about any theories from anyone. 🤔🤔
Without getting into spoilers; it sounds like the test wasn't about the Crimson Dragon. :) If you're in the vicinity of the summoning of most of the Earthbound Immortals your soul may just become a meal for them. Summon it on a village and bam! Your Earthbound Immortal has it's meal

Crow fell off his D-Wheel. The Duel should have ended in a draw.
Evidently, the D-Wheel needs to be inoperable in order for it to count as such. It's what happened to Yusei in his duel against Kallen.
