About 5 years ago I was obese with hypertension. My primary Dr told me that Keto was not sustainable. He advised that I eat more plants. 2 or 3 yrs after that he was amazed at my weight-loss, BP & cholesterol levels. I told him that I was on a whole food plant-based diet. He said, "Whatever you are doing, keep doing." March 2023 I had a routine cardiology visit. He said, "You are one health young lady." I'm 70+ yrs. I thank God for you, Chef AJ and those in the plant based community. ♥

Chef AJ, I made your Lentil Tacos from your Unprocessed book. My fussy, normally meat eating husband, loved it!
I pressure cooked it in my instant pot. Quick and easy. Thanks!

Thank you Chef AJ! Great presentation Dr Davis. I love how simple you make eating WFPB. When I started this journey 3 years ago, I made it way too complicated. Now, I have the staples you mentioned on hand at all times, do a little batch cooking and save the complex recipes for special occasions. I hope more people will come on board and give this lifestyle a chance. The results are amazing, my cholesterol quickly dropped lower than it had been in years. My doctor had put me on a statin and said it was due to my family history of heart disease, never recommended a dietary change. This seems to be to usual story. Thank you for all the valuable information and dedication. 🤗

    Enjoyed this video very much.
It was a great presentation & she made it simple & easy enough for anyone to understand & she gave great examples of different recipes one can make & just stressed just keep it simple & that anyone can do it & that it is quite a change & if you just make changes slow & easy anyone can do it, and you will be healthier for it.
Thank you Chef AJ for having this wonderful presentation; I enjoyed it very much. 😊 🤗 👍 ❤

Beans have 41 gas of protein, but that is uncooked. I eat beans or lentils most days, it's 15.5 gm per cup cooked. I eat miracle metabolisms smoothies so I get 5 serves of fruit and veg in a drink before lunch ...in my country they recommend 5 and 2 but im thing 10 -12 serves a day.. my lunch is a veg soup with rice, dinner has a couple of serves of veg easily most days. x

Nice presentation overall. But I think the g of protein for 1 cup of beans was incorrect. The video said 40g but that would be for uncooked beans-beans should never be eaten raw. Beans that are cooked have much lower levels of protein at around 10-18g.

I'm wondering where Dr Davis got the info that a cup of beans is 40 g of protein. My cans of cooked beans say 7 g per half cup. So that would only be 14 g per cup 🤔

Maybe if doctors would be taught some clinical nutrition, or watched this channel, people maybe might kind of not be dying all over the place, I don’t know, seems we might be extreme, it might not be for everyone … kind of 🤪

Nobody should feel like they have to defend their choice to become plant based/vegan. People rarely question anyone that does keto or carnivore. If someone wants to question you....just tell them it's because YOU want to and it isn't hurting anyone else. Food and ways of eating have been turned into some political BS....one of my BIGGEST pet peeves.

  • @bitfinesse

All this being nice is killing people. Non-positive language doesn’t drive home the message. This world doesn’t words like, “maybe,” “kind of,” “sort of,” “this may help,” “eat fewer animal products.”
People hear this and turn the channel. It’s weak. To all the plant-based doctors: if you want to help people, it’s okay to SAY, “Shut up and eat your greens. With a potato or two.”
Shut up and eat your greens. That’s what I wish I heard ten years ago. Don’t let people’s willy-nilly feelings push you into being so nice that you’re completely ineffective, preaching to the choir.
Humans aren’t pulling out of this. If you’re in the know, congratulations. You’re going to help continue the human race. Those in denial - their genes are getting wiped from the planet. And who knows. Maybe we’ll be better for it.
Shut up and eat your greens.

I actually think, this very fact helps the keto/carnivore movement gain traction.
They're very unapologetic about what they believe in. They make it look 'cool', to become one of the 'redpilled' crowd. People like to follow leaders that radiate confidence and success. For better or worse.

I love your message of keeping it simple. I very much resonate with this and it’s how I have continued eating this way for the past fourteen years. It is THE reason I can keep my family of four fed with healthy, whole plant foods. I just started making some videos of how I make super simple starch staples for our family, how to use the instapot etc. It can be so simple once your tastebuds adjust.
