I love hearing Phil Villapiano talk about the Raiders, he's clearly got so much passion for the team
Same here
Agreed! I've been a passionate fan since I was five and if I could pick any former Raider to sit down and talk to it would be Villapiano! I'll bet he's got some amazing stories!
He sounds like al Davis, and acts like al Davis
Same with George Atkinson. I could hear them talk about the Raiders all day.
Phil Villapiano is the #1 Raider reminiscer of all time. He’s what anthropologists call a “key informant”
THANKS FOR NAMING GENE NUMBER ONE. COMING FROM A FAMILY MEMBER.
He was one of the best
I love how these boys in the trenches are getting recognized.
This is just perfect and clearly defines what the old school Raiders were all about.
Jim otto, Gene Upshaw, and art Shaw made the best left side of an offensive line ever
Rip Gene Upshaw 1945-2008
Raiders had too many great players for a Top 10, 20 or 30 list!!!
Shell was a monster.
#0 is Jim Otto
That's double00 baby!!....the great Jim Otto, 1960-1974 outa Miami, Raiders Fa Eva baby!!!!....Were stayin Oakland baby!!!!.....🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🐘🐼🐬🐳🐊🐕🐅🐖🐄
Jazzy Productions good meme
I know man. Crazy what he did for that team from beginning to its beginning of the 70’s dynasty
@@Italianoboy1gmail Otto retired in 75'. and actually for one year, his first, he wore #50
*BUUUZZZZ* That is INCORRECT!! #00 is Jim Otto.
For the Raiders, you need a Top 20. Charles Woodson, Ted Hendricks, Hayes and Haynes, Daryle Lamonica, Dave Casper, Bo Jackson, Jack Tatum, Ray Guy, Todd Christensen, Steve Wisniewski, Rod Martin, and Matt Millen are all other candidates to be considered
All worthy choices, I would also say maybe Greg Townsend, Steve Wisniewski, Sebastian Janikowski
Greg Townsend is the Raiders all time sack leader
Otto
Cliff Branch and Tim Brown as well! Also Janikowski.
Warren wells
Upshaw and Shell are the right choice; the optimised the Raiders of the 1970's.
Madden and Al Davis shouldve been on this list imo
thats a good opinion you got there
All Davis got rid of the two best players: ken stabler and Marcus Allen.
Myles agreed
If Al Davis had done exactly the same things through out his entire career, but for any other team, he would be #1 not only on the Raider, but on the NFL list. He knew more about football than today's NFL organizations know combined.
How in the hell is Ted Hendricks not on this list?? (3 super bowls with the silver and black) John Madden? Tom Flores?
Loved the 70s Raiders
Best left side offensive line ever
Why am I not seeing HOF Raiders legend Ted Hendricks?
Jim otto, Gene Upshaw and Art Shell, best left front in history ,and Madden used them as such thats why they are all legends
Everybody knew The Purple People Eaters were overmatched going into Superbowl 11. Shell and Upshaw outweighed the entire Vikings defensive line! 😂
It's funny because most of the 2016 Raider fans probably don't know who this guy was
Build Legacy Sadly bandwagons come with the territory
gene upshaw's voice sounds just like jimi hendrix @1:50
Did I miss something here?! Where in the hell were Ted Hendricks and Dave Casper?
Jim Otto baby! He owned a Burger King in Auburn California in which there was a photo of him in boxer shorts with graphical Lines pointing to every part of his body. Those lines each denoted a fracture or surgery he’d had during his career. My parents always pointed that photo out to me as to why I should not play football. I played anyway.
I wish we had players like that now days.
I couldn't agree more with the top 3 , Shell , Upshaw and 00 Otto being the Best !!!
I would not want to take any of these Raiders off this list, but Hendricks should be on it!
HOF and all three SB wins. Loved seeing all these players, but Ted is my favorite Raider.
Hendricks over Allen
No
Jack Tatum, Lyle Alzado, Bo Jackson, Ted Hendricks, John Madden, Lester Haynes, Bill Romanowski, Todd Christensen ????
The top 25 OAKLAND Raiders of all time. # 1. Cliff Branch. # 2. Ted Hendricks. # 3 Ken Stabler. # 4 Dave Casper. # 5 Jack Tatum. #.6. Fred Biletnikopf. # 7. Art Shell. # 8. Ray Guy. # 9 Warren Wells. # 10 Marcus Allen (he fumbled). # 11 Jim Plunkett. # 12 Jim Otto. # 13 Willie Brown. # 14 Daryl Lamonica. # 15 Tim Brown. # 16 Gene Upshaw. # 17 Bo Jackson (could have been # 1 if he played enough). # 18 Monte Johnson. # 19 Howie Long # 20. Charles Woodson. # 21 Clem Daniels. # 22 Raymond Chester. # 23. Phil Villiapiano. # 24 Tom Keating. # 25 George Atkinson
I forgot Lester Hayes
Other Raiders of note :Hewritt Dixon. Dan Birdwell. Ike Lassiter. Gus Otto. Ben Davidson. Dan Conners. Dave Grayson. Otis SISTRUNK. Alonzo (dr death ) Thomas. John Matuzak. Marv Hubbard. Mark Van Eeghen. Art Thoms. Matt Millen. Todd Christiansen. Greg Townsend. Rod Martin. Dave Dalby. Mike Haynes. Steve Wisnewski. Terry McDaniel. Rich Gannon. + Sebastian Janikowski
Finally more Raiders of note : Art Powell. George Blanda. Billy Cannon. Gerald Irons. Bob Brown. John Vella Henry Lawrence. Bill Pickel. Harry Schuh. Van McElroy
It’s amazing how amazingly good the Raiders were from 1967 -1985 and how amazingly bad the Raiders were from 1987-2020
My Top 10 Raiders list:
10. Bo Jackson
9. Art Shell
8. Charles Woodson
7. Howie Long
6. Cliff Branch
5. George Blanda
4. Fred Biletnikoff
3. Ted Hendricks
2. Snake Stabler
1. Jim Otto
Lmao Bo Jackson is on the list and LMAO NO GENE UPSHAW
How do you have Bo Jackson over Marcus Allen in terms of Raider running backs!? Bo was great dont get me wrong but you cant put him over Marcus Allen smh.
Being a long time Raiders fan( since their first year-1960) I tried to come up with a top 20. I did it alphabetically and came
up with 35 players. I will supply last names and see how many anyone can identify- Allen, Atkinson, Biletnikoff, Blanda, Branch,
Brown, Brown, Casper, Chester, Conners, Dalby, Gannon, Guy, Hayes, Haynes, Hendricks, Jackson, Janikowski, Keating, Kwalick,
Lamonica, Lechler, Long, Martin, Otto, Otto, Plunkett, Rice, Shell, Sistrunk, Townsend, Upshaw, Van Eeghen, Wells and
Wisnieski. Ad yes Warren Wells belongs on the list. He only played 4 years but he was the best wide receiver in the league and
still holds the career reception per game yardage mark. Legal problems curtailed his for sure Hall of Fame career.
All those names and you forgot one of the Raiders' best: Tatum.
@@KirkSandall - I didn't forget "The Assassin ". I just don't think he is among the top Raiders.
Good list. Charles Woodson belongs on it. You're right about Wells.
Jim otto regularly got his noss broken, and he still played for 15 years. If that's not tough, i don't know what is. Rest in peace
Where is Jack Tatum
intL Bloodshot for real
He was a beast the best ever to do it man
@@Sldumas1983 The Assasin..
The assassin...
Art shell also led the raiders to an afc championship in 1990, as a head coach
O-LINE!!
Atkins be like: “everybody should be higher on this list” i love that guy
You can make this list much longer, so many great Raiders,
Distespect no David the ghost casper on this list
no jack tatum either
The raiders have too many great players. They should have made top 30
Return to glory Raiders
I by back genétic
Excellent choices. Raiders don't win those division championships without those great offensive linemen - Upshaw, Shell, and Otto.
While I have no problem with BOTH Shell and Upshaw being voted #1 top Raiders, as they may have been the greatest 1/2 punch of offensive linemen of all time. That said, Jim Otto not being part of the offensive line of greatness is an obvious shame. He exceeded everyone's knowledge about how hard it is to play center in the NFL. He was as tough as nails, even playing with a broken neck, and eventually lost a leg because of all his injuries.
Another unheralded player was Ray Guy. I know, I know, a "punter" being one of the top 10?
He saved many a game for them just based on field position. He allowed the offense to take chances/risks they might otherwise not been able to, all because of Guy punting them out of poor field position.
why isn't jack tatum on this list??????
We need like a top 20 Raiders list. Charles Woodson, Al Davis, John Madden, daryle Lamonica, Greg Townsend, Sebastian Janikowski, Dave Casper, Bill Romanowski, Jack Tatum, Ray Guy, Todd Christansen,, Lyle Alzado, just to name a few. Hell, the city of Oakland too
Rip my man Casper
Where Lester Haynes though
Exactly. 13 ints one year. Wtf? He was one of the best ever and he’s not top 10 raider?
It’s Lester Hayes and Mike Haynes.
Can you imagine trying to make a tackle seeing Shell or Upshaw running full speed at you? LOL
I'd say Rich Gannon's gotta be worth an honorable mention. During mid-90s the Raiders went through a dry spell. Gannon was the perfect guy to remind everyone in that locker room what being a Raider is about. No, he's not Snake, Howie, Art Shell, or Gene Upshaw. But he's still in the conversation of all-time great Raiders.
There is no such thing as a top 10 Raiders list, that's an insult, it has to be a top 30, maybe a top 40 just to acknowledge all the greatness that wore the Silver & Black, the NFL hated them, that was the true measure of their greatness
They were a 2 headed monster
Al davis? Madden? Tom Landry was no.1 on the Dallas Cowboys list...
what about jack tatum?
+Breen Machine YES!!!!! All time intimidating safety!
did I miss Jack Tatum? or am I correct the assassin was left out
Teddy Gagnon yeah he was left out smh
First song name please? Remember hearing that song on madden
number 2
There never would have BEEN a Raiders team w/o Al Davis.
Jim Otto!!!
That O Line was like a brick wall.
Otto, Upshaw, Shell. That's where you run
As listed, Gene Upshaw is one inch shorter and 5 pounds lighter than Rob Gronkowski. He played guard. Wow.
Number double zero Raider of all time! 😄 Gotta respect the silver and black mitos. Thats one franchise with one amazing history. I hope they become very good very soon and go back to pillaging just for fun
Ted Hendricks (NFL 100 LB), Ray Guy (NFL 100 punter), Charles Woodson, Jack Tatum, Dave Casper...
I may be bias because I saw him play live many times but I think that Tyrone Wheatley is the greatest Raider of all time. The raiders would have several drives throughout Wheatley's tenure where he would get 1 or even 2 first downs. Consistent and amazing
Any time The 🏴☠️ needed a 1st down. It was Either Marv Hubbard, Pete Bannazak or Mark Van Egan! Carried the 🏈 to the Left side of the line. Off Tackle play behind Upshaw & Shell.
I think the true ultimate raider the one that is above number 1 is Al Davis no question. The ultimate Raider.
Jim otto was so good, he was higher then #1
Sad that he just passed away
@@cooperwolfe5478rest in peace
Where is Daryle Lamonica?
Jack Marmor My thoughts exactly clearly the best Raiders quarterback by far & it isn't even close.
Upshaw
Shell
Hendricks
Otto
Stabler
Willie
Marcus
Howie
Branch
Casper
Top 10 should be...
Art Shell/Gene Upshaw
Jim Otto
Jack Tatum
Fred Biletnikoff
Ray Guy
Marcus Allen
Cliff Branch
Ted Hendrix
Rod Martin
Howie Long
If Jack Tatum isn't #1 This list is broken.
and guess what... it was jack who broke it!
Jack Tatum was ranked in the Feared Tacklers list. 😺
C.WOODSON
WTF? doesn't the nfl know about the raider's best quarterback to ever play?
mah boii jamarcus russel should be number 1
Elias Juarez hahaha
your drunk
Elias Juarez Shut it already man, its gettin old.
SmokingSkulls it really it is.....that wasted 1st pick still hurts to this day.
Imrue Bryan I don't miss them days
george atkinson?
no. jack tatum was better
I want to know who that dude was who said $^#! Howie Long. Funny stuff.
Mike Haynes??? He's a top 5 CB all time in my opinion along with Night Train Lane, Mel Blount, Willie Brown, and Deion Sanders
Good list but in my list
#10 Willie Brown
#9 Fred Biletnikoff
#8 George Blanda
#7 Dave Casper
#6 Ted Hendricks
#5 Jim Plunkett
#4 Ken Stabler
#3 Daryle Lamonica
#2 Jim Otto
#1 Al Davis
Come on NFL, you missed jack tatum, Ted (mad stork) Hendricks, and bo Jackson!!
Danielle Norberg Bo didn’t play long enough.
#1 ok very important players
This list must have Daryl Lamonica..... I switched teams from the Bills to the Raiders after that trade.... and then he went on to be the amazing "Mad Bomber"
But I love the Upshaw, Shell, Otto choice..... probably best O side of a line ever!
Number one is Al Davis.
where tf is ray guy or seabass?
where is woodson? not even top 10? smh
I think these videos are some years older, they still had Stabler and Deacon Jones talking in some of them. Today, he would be on that list for sure.
That's true. The new season has a different intro and transition than this one had.
Thomas Wells he's more of a packer
Bostonzo B He will always be remembered as a Raider
Mr. Brown His legacy came from the Packers
Gene Upshaw: [speaking] voice twin of Jimi Hendrix.
Jim Otto was the only all-league center the AFL ever had
RIP Jim 0tt0
Woodson needs to be in there
Pitts, he's out, I hit him with the twenty pounder, he's out on his feet. He might even be dead. The walking dead. 😂😂 Raider nation.
I just found out today that Gene Upshaw is a distant relative of mine. I asked my Uncle Ray and he told me that his sister's great grandson is Gene Upshaw thus meaning he's like my 3rd cousin or something. My Uncle Ray's sister is my Aunt Ruby. Gene Upshaw was also a brother of the same fraternity my father used to be a brother of. The name of the fraternity was Alpha Phi Alpha.
Y'all don't know Bo?
Jayy he played for like a year. Zeke is the best running back ever according to this logic.
YTW Gaming Fuck zeke
Bo wasn't even the best RB when he played for the Raiders - that'd be Marcus Allen. Bo could've been great, but his baseball career and injury got in his way.
Jayy most overrated player ever
Jayy you're a real idiot, no person will ever make the Top Ten who just played in 3-4 seasons.
Todd Christensen
Henry Lawrence?
Why does gene upshaw look like Beetlejuice when he's wearing his helmet
Then later on with the Cowboys right side you had tackle Erik Williams and guard Larry Allen!
no ray guy or seabass? this aint a raider list..
You better not call yourself a Raiders fan... Sebastian Janikowski, kicker
@Eddie LM so maybe he missed alot of kicks but the man a legend. i guess an honorable mention would suffice
2:40 this is why I say Shell should’ve gotten the MVP
No disrespect to Freddie B, but Shell went up against Jim Marshall, blanked him, and led the running game which won the game
top 10 Oakland Raiders but you don't have bo jackson
RN4L
Oo. A tie
The younger sports commentators wanting Bo on the list... never watched Otto, Lamonica, Willie, Tooz, Ben, Stork ....
Other than marketing purposes, there's no way you can justify Bo being on that list.
Yeah, they got this right, at least.
Is This Tied?
They keep changing these lists, even when no one new has been added, kinda loses it's relevance.
Exactly
There are 20 Raiders players not on this top 10 list the would make every other teams top 10 list. For example. Lester Hayes, Jack Tatum, Todd Christensen, Raymond Chester, Bo Jackson, Nnamdi Asomugha and Steve Wisniewski off the top of my head.
Bru BO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
