Since it didn't get mentioned in "Best of the Rest," someone should comment. What NaVarro Bowman did in the 2013 NFC Championship with under 9 minutes left was the manliest play I've ever seen on a football field. Montana and Lott are #1 and #2. Jerry Rice is the greatest player ever, but not the greatest 49er. He played with too many other teams for too long and he did not help build that dynasty from ground zero like Joe and Ronnie did starting in 1981.
I think Roger Craig should have been higher on the list at #5. St Clair was an offensive tackle. John Brodie also should be on the honorable mention list as his number 12 was the first number retired by the Niners.
I’m disappointed that Bill Walsh & George Seifert are left off the list We all know about Bill Walsh & his impact on the 49ers As a defensive coordinator & coach Seifert had an impact on that 9er defense. As a coach he went to 5 conference championship games (1989,1990,1992,1993,1994) and he won 2 Super Bowls in 1989 & 1994. The only time he missed the playoffs is 1991. Grossly underrated coach.
Explain to me how Terell Davis from the broncos is in the hall of fame but Rodger craig isn't. When he as more rushing yards, receiving yards and superbowl rings oh and tds
True Roger Craig should be in the Hall, but Terrell Davis was the best running back in the NFL from 1996 until his injury in 1999. As great as Craig was, he was never considered the best.
The reason St Clair isn't on the list or meantioned because of the era he played in players got away with alot back he as an offensive lineman 6'9 275 there was things that he could do back then that you couldn't do today like block below the waist
You can make the case that at least 2 West Coast quarterbacks were better than Montana (Young and Anderson). No wide receivers was better than Rice. And Lott is close to the top at his position.
Fun fact Patrick Willis is fucking shredded. My goodness he is jacked. And he was so fast as well. Incredible in pass coverage both zone and manning up. Also the intangibles were there, a leader of men, always was in a spot to make a play on the ball, and more importantly he finished plays as well as anyone. An all time physique who could cover the pass, could THUMP anyone running in the middle (my god he could lay the wood), had the speed to shut down the running game sideline to sideline, and a beloved teammate and leader while carrying himself like a true role model off the fan. P.S. Look at how JACKED he was. With that speed he just put people on their ass, after authority. What a great MLB
People actually would take Rice over Montana? Joe wouldnt be as good if he didnt have Rice? WTF? Give me a break. You can be the best WR ever, but if you dont have a QB to get you the ball, it wont matter. Larry Fitzgerald is a prime example. The guy exploded when Warner came to town, when Warner retired Fitz was below average... Then Palmer came into town and guess what? Fitz went back to being really good again... How about Randy Moss? Great years, then everyone thought he was done, gets traded to the Patriots and with a QB like Brady, Moss goes off. QB's get paid the most for a reason. I remember the Steelers had Le'Veon Bell and they were saying he needs to be paid all this money... Then Bell left and he has never reached the same level as when he was with the Steelers and guess what? Steelers doing just fine without him. They have Big Ben...
I’m not sure why but of all the sports dynasties, if the 49ers qualify, in all sports I hate the Niners the least. Other than TO I don’t remember any insufferable jack ass’s playing Meball.
I wish they would make this for every team in the league, regardless of the history and success.

10. Million Dollar backfield
Honorable mention
Bob Saint Clair
Terrell Owens
Ricky Watters
Brent Jones
Tom Rathman
Bill Romanowski
@Fries
Owens is a hall of fame inductee tho 😏
Gore isn’t a hall of fame inductee yet they put him on the list
@Fries
Wasn’t Saint Clair a hall of fame DE in the 1960s
St Clair was an offensive tackle. John Brodie also should be on the honorable mention list as his number 12 was the first number retired by the Niners.
You guys think any current Niners can make this list one day? Don't know if Bosa's ceiling is high enough
George Kittle, possibly.
@@isaacgreen3273 Completely forgot about Kittle. He'll crack the list probably
@Joshua Ehhh....
Roger Craig, Ricky Watters and Frank Gore all deserve to be in the HOF.
Charles Haley IS in the HOF.
Still waiting to find an offensive lineman on an NFL Top 10 list. There may be one or two? ...
montana or rice at # 1? thats the toughest choice for any list of top 10 players for a team
Rice had the best hands in the history of the game...played alot longer too.
patrick willis was an amazing linebacker. it sucks he will never sniff the hall of fame because he retired young due to foot injuries
Calvin Johnson played the same amount of years and is in now. And Willis is a finalist this year
How is TO not on here?
KC and my niners have the underrated rivalry of all time
Superbowl 54
Joe to the Chiefs
Alex Smith to the Chiefs
Dont forget Grbac, and Bono, too. KC just loved picking up former 49ers QBs, for some reason.
I’m disappointed that Bill Walsh & George Seifert are left off the list
We all know about Bill Walsh & his impact on the 49ers
As a defensive coordinator & coach Seifert had an impact on that 9er defense. As a coach he went to 5 conference championship games (1989,1990,1992,1993,1994) and he won 2 Super Bowls in 1989 & 1994. The only time he missed the playoffs is 1991. Grossly underrated coach.
Same thing with the Packer list-if coaches were included Lambeau and Lombardi would be no brainers.
When you list Dwight Clark as No. 8 player in franchise history, your franchise is not up to par with the Steelers, Cowboys, Packers or Raiders.
I hope Hardy Brown is on this
He got a "Best of the Rest" mention.
Jerry rice at 2??????
Joe was the Quarterback so of course this list was gonna be biased towards him.
I cringe every time I see those white pants. Ask a fellow Canadian, I’m so proud that John Candy plays a part in the Legend of Joe Montana :)
Anyone else thing TO should’ve been in place of Dwight Clark?
Love my Niners; but Leo Nomellini as best of the rest is a joke. One of the best defensive linemen to put on a helmet.
Should have two sets of 49ers, pre-Walsh and Walsh on
Roger Craig should be higher!
Where's CB Jimmy Johnson or MLB Dave Wilcox? Both are Hall of Famers!
Jerry rice needs to be number 1 Montana is a goat but c'mon jerry gotta be number 1
Montana was there from the very beginning of the dynasty, I assume that's why they put him as no 1.
Joe cool did not cheat to sb titles, you watching Tom
#80 is #1
As of today.... Willis is justified on this list👍🏿
Hahaha classic Damon amendolara. Saying Jerry rice couldn’t be number one because of dancing with the stars lol what a clown
Kyle's 49ers are that team ..gotta go back to the basics #BANGGBANGNINERGANG
Lack of speed was Gore’s weakness. He did not have great break away speed. He was caught from behind many times. So Tom Rathman was wrong.
Which, to me, is weird because on the older Madden games (06-10) he always had like 90+ speed
Roger Craig deserves to be in the HOF an I'm not even a 49ers fan
Still waiting for the Top 10 Dallas Cowboys.
I tried to upload it but it was blocked by RUclips.
@@isaacgreen3273 Wow!!!!!
Soooooo a guy has a hall of Famer on the same team for 14 years... and Charles haley is over him?
brodie should be here...
YA too
Should be Greatest 15 or 20 49ers......
They have Big Ben...
disagree, jerry rice is # 1
Tom Brady is Joe Montana on steroids
32:38 WHAT A FUCKING SAVAGE
I’m not sure why but of all the sports dynasties, if the 49ers qualify, in all sports I hate the Niners the least. Other than TO I don’t remember any insufferable jack ass’s playing Meball.
