I still think Joe Montana is the greatest QB of all time, the game is a lot tamer today, and the officials were better than today AND didn't favour players such as Tom Brady
At the same time there were a lot of unfair advantages that montanna had he didn't play in the salary cap era. Another advantage montanna had was that he played in the nice warm san francisco weather for most of his carreer while brady played in the freezing cold boston for most of his career. Finally did you forget the first half of bradys career where he played with the same rules that montanna had
I know Tom Brady has Seven Championships but I was born in the 80s and "Joe Cool" Joe Montana is my G.O.A.T. Quarterback, he was just smooth and clutch when it counted! 🏆🏆🏆🏆
@@michaeldavison123 he played in a time when qbs and offense were not untouchable, now the defense is very hamstrung alot of times, different eras makes it harder to judge, same with the nba
Joe Cool should ALWAYS be respected. It's horrendously disappointing that people just immediately forgot about him when Brady won his 5th ring. That is f'd up.
I cursed this name long before he was Joe Cool. As a Houston resident and UH fan at the time, I watched that rejuvenated bastard lead the 1979 Cotton Bowl comeback, fortified by some hot halftime soup during the which must have been boosted with PEDs. Fifteen years, three weeks and about fifteen days after that ridiculous comeback, the best big game QB I ever watched took apart the second-best Oilers team of all time. Be advised that "best" in Oilers terms means fun to watch, since none of them, even those first three Earl Campbell squads, were clearly the best team in the NFL. That loss meant owner Bud Adams would punish the City of Houston (actually the Harris County Sports Authority) by demanding upgrades to the Astrodome county commissioners would never support. That meant no luxury boxes to boost Adams take of the gate, and the perfect excuse to move the team elsewhere. So thanks a bunch, you "4-0 in The Big Game" schmuck! You helped birth the first team in the league named after a state, the highest honor that underachieving franchise has ever attained...
still tough due to the different eras they played in, its the same as the nba due to how tough and physical things used to be, would brady of survived being hit so much with rules not favoring the offense so much? Would montana have had more records, superbowls and missed way less time if he had played when brady did? Its impossible to say.
Montana is the greatest QB of all time. Easily! Just because he didn’t have the luck the QBs of the new millennium have with the NFL not allowing anyone to harm them doesn’t mean he’s not the greatest. None of the new millennium QBs would have lasted half as long as him had they played in the man era and was fucked up like he was. Had he played now, he would have 9 superbowls
As great as Montana was (still the GOAT, IMO - he didn't have to cheat), people forget that 1981 draft that shored up the defense: two guys named Ronnie Lott and Eric Wright, plus vet FAs like Fred Dean and Hacksaw Reynolds, were critical to getting Joe Cool back out on the field to do his thing. The Niners had a terribly underrated defense.
not even about cheating, that's a thing but the biggest difference is montana played in a physical era where the defense was not as tied down by all the rules that favor the qb and offensive side of the ball. if he played when brady etc did then he would of likely taken way less hits and not had to deal with all the injuries that he did

Easily the best QB of all time. Lifelong rams fan here and I cursed and hated him his whole career. Todays qb's could not have played in that era when football was still football, not a contact sport as they said but a collision sport much like human pinball at times.
Roger Craig was on the team that beat the Dolphins. You made it seem like he didn't join the team until after that super bowl. You might want to make sure to get your time-line right before you post.

If Joe Montana played in this era he would be the best QB in the league. Hard hits derailed his career
That the 49ers went from Montana to Young was one of the most unfair things ever
Its always a good day when Blitz uploads!🐐🐐
Crazy how even with injuries, he was still that good. Also keep up the good work blitz, your videos are like NFL Film level quality!
Joe Cool was deadly. He was the ideal QB for Bill Walsh's west coast offense. It would be a big mistake to underestimate Joe Montana.

As much as I love Tom Brady, I still have Joe Cool as my #1 best QB! He was scary throughout the 80-90's and undefeated in his Super Bowls.
Joe was my goat to til Brady showed me after changing teams

Exactly, 4 SB wins and 0 losses.
And 11tds with 0 picks in those 4 super bowls!

Good stuff! I'm loving what you guys do! I've started out a small and looking to build into more.
Brady never had to eat the punishment allowed in Montana's era.
That makes it VERY hard to compare.
He's a legend.
There was a town in Montana that for one day was officially named Joe.

I have an idea for a video on who could be one of the best backup QBs of all time: Jeff Hostetler
Can you do how good was Steve Young actually?
Burrow be like Joe cool😢
Joe Flacco has the best post season run 🤫
78% completion percentage in a playoff run is nuts
Bryce Young couldn't have a 78% completion percentage with no defenders on the field
Ok guy
Can you do a Dan Marino Video

In my opinion, the 49ers dynasty was the greatest💯👍
Can you make Steve Young video also Montana ever threw a single interception in the Super Bowl
4 superbowls in 9/10 years better that Brady babies! No spygate, deflategate etc etc etc. Much tougher league back then 2
My team's greatest player. Joe Cool Montana.
WRONG Info: BOTH Craig and Rice joined that 49er squad BEFORE they stomped Marino and The Dolphins in The Super Bowl… STILL a good video, though.🙌🏽👍🏽💯

You're WRONG. The NINERS drafted Craig in 1983 and drafted Rice AFTER the Super Bowl in January of 1985, so... 😂
My G.O.A.T🏆🏆🏆🏆4-0, 11 TD's 0 int.
Roger Craig was drafted in 1983 not 1985.
