Are you POD?
I never paid for ads. I just let it grow organically. Word of mouth, talking to people growing my business whether there was a sale or not. People buy into your personality as well as the product. You are included as a product. Sometimes people over think things too much.
Growing organically is best, but if you runs some ads/discounts at the beginning on Etsy even just at the beginning you will sell even more!
What I like about you guys is you just give the information. Lots & lots of helpful information without spending 1/2 your video selling coaching. I appreciate it.
5 weeks, 25 sales. Very happy to see the momentum beginning now with at least 1 sale a day. 7% conversion.

2 months in, 60 sales, really trying to make this a full time thing but i need to scale up big time.
It took me 8 years to get to 100 sales in my very tiny niche (Even Google says I'm about 'it').
Now 12 years in, about 170 sales (several clients with multi sales that only count as one 😢).
Etsy is not get rich quick or even profitable unless you stay the course. Find your niche, dont give up, learn to pivot, give exceptional customer service. Your repeat buyers make it worthwhile.

Brand spanking new!!!! Opened shop today. Excited and a bit overwhelmed
I copied and pasted the exact title of one of my listing. None of my listing was shown on the search result. Wonder why I paid 15 usd fee for.
I'm 1 year old here. 10,500 visits, 7,200 views, 51 sales. Running ads for 6 months.

It's my second time back, first time was in 2014 - Did a lot better back then, I've been back since November '24 and have had only 7 sales. My primary focus was only my handmade items & then caved to add vintage to have more listings.
Finally got my shop up and running.. It was suspended almost immediately after opening for some reason and I've finally got that sorted out. I was clueless about the importance and strategy of keywords and SEO but I think I've figured that out. I'm in the process of going back and relisting my items, modifying the titles, descriptions and tags. Its been frustrating but I'm being realistic and expect things will be slow at first. I 'm taking the advice of a number of You Tube creators and am not giving up. I am determined to succeed in this and will make it happen. Ang help would be appreciated. The 100K roadmap sounds great. I really appreciate the realistic approach you are taking.
I'm interested in why you were suspended and when it was, this is my biggest fear :( Knowing not what to do is a big help, obviously no copyright infringements but even that's not as straightforward as not copying Taylor Swift :)

I have been on Etsy since March, but no sales yet. I actually need to add more products and focus more on my shop. I have two other jobs, but I love to craft. I will say that I did make some minor changes..one was changing my photo. When I did that, I began getting a lot more traffic for some strange reason. LOL However, I do think that once I load my new products I will get even more traffic and hopefully a sale. I am patient because I am not giving it enough attention at the moment. It is difficult when everyone is selling the same products. I have also noticed that people who have RUclips channels first and transition to Etsy by opening shops..begin with an established customer base due to people who subscribe to their RUclips channels. RUclips is definitely a leg up.

Can we address the elephant standing in the room? Etsy has fallen from their once stellar reputation. I have seen countless videos and posts how they have devasted business without mercy by shutting down their accounts. These have been high profit sellers with years on the platform. There is something wrong and too much power handed over to a company that can use the "kill switch" at anytime on your business. I am in the process of building my own store. Thank you for the great info. I am learning so much.
I started several years ago and only have 98 orders so far. I haven't spent nearly enough time working on it, so that has definitely affected it. I am actually in the process of starting a 2nd store so that I can have a specified niche for each (still laser engraved items on both, though). So, my newest store I am still in the process of editing my product photos before I start listing my first item (but I do have over 20 products already designed and made for the new store).
I am also in the process of trying to get my daughter setup with a store (I am making her design products for it now). Hopefully we will have some luck coming up.

On thingy #2, sales . . . what comes first, the chicken or the egg? In my opinion you have to either pay for ads to get sales, or drive your own traffic to your shop.
TRUE! But you need traffic and it don't matter how you get it...you just need to get it :-)
How do you do product research specifically for print on demand? Have you done a step-by-step video for that?

I am on round two and it’s been 1 1/2 years since I tried before and made 10 sales. My biggest hang up was shipping. I gave up b/c I offered free shipping and it was costly. I have been doing lots of research and one plus is I have a unique and beautiful item in my niche that no one has. I’m in home decor and fabric florals. I have tons of confidence as I’ve been doing shows and no one has seen what I do. However, can’t do shows anymore so I want to go internet. So I’m a newby after long vacation.
Since I wrote this my account was hacked. Someone posted 127 listings ( svg sports copyrighted images) and Etsy shut me down. I have not been responded to by them when I gave all info needed). I’m a nobody in the Etsy world. Had a plan but now I’m done. Have no desire to plod through the process. So long Etsy!
@@pdubward2015 That's really sad, don't give up, it took us nearly a month to sort something similar with Etsy, countless messages sent before we got a 'proper' response. We sell on several platforms, they all have issues and it's so easy to lose everything overnight, in ten years we've had to start again from scratch four times! Not talked about enough x
Which Etsy Ad Goal should one choose? How does the shop type, listings quantity, shop age affect choosing any of the objective. So for example, which objective should a new seller with less than 100 sales choose vs which objective should a new shop with 1000 sales choose vs which objective should more mature shop choose?
I wonder about this too. Etsy ads is also hit or miss. I sell crochet patterns yet get sent people to my shop who don’t crochet 😐
New, since June 17, 2024. 1 sale so far, August 17, 24. Selling handmade, fabric table runners and placemats in classic elegant style. Start adds in mid august.
What if I DID my research, KNOW people are looking for things in my niche, and doing EVERY single thing possible, and still coming up short? I'm giving 2 hours a DAY to Etsy, for the past 4 months. 45 listings. And 7 sales. 4 with positive feedback.
When I DO make sales, Etsy punishes me the next day by not showing anything. When I get favorites, Etsy literally halts my traffic. When I get a review, Etsy doesn't reward me at all. It's all insane.
I've never put this much effort into a business. And I feel like shutting my entire store down and deleting ALL my artwork.
1 year ago I put up a couple listing just to see what it’s about and got 1 sale. A month ago I decided to get back into it and try to take it seriously and now I’m at 5 sales haha. Slowly ramping up aiming to at least make 100$ a month by years end. Have a baby on the way so really trying to get this going before then
First, I love you guys. While I was doing Uber Eats part time I binge watched you and learned so much. I’m at 21 sales (just heard a cha ching 😂) I work full time now but able to focus more on my shop and thanks to you both continue to fine tune things. Praying 4th quarter is spectacular. Question, when selling custom design templates or digital products, how do you list that? Similar to the folks that sell logos and shop banners.
Etsy shop since Jan 2024 and over 600 sales. Hope to keep having over 200 sales per month.

Product demand is huge. I started end of 2020, this is my fourth year and last month I surpassed my revenue for the previous month. Biggest reason is I shifted my products. I sell patterns. I saw that the patterns I was focusing on don’t sell as well. So I shifted and the patterns I make now are selling so much better. I wish I would have shifted my designs sooner and focused less on what I wanted to make and more on things potential customers wanted to make. Also yes, it takes time. Even with an amazing product you’re not going to have thousands of sales in a few months
Yes, new, under 100 and I'll tell you what it's like. I got my first sale the other day and guess what, Etsy put my shop in vacation mode to verify my ID, again, putting my first customer's money in limbo, my shop shuttered and in doubt. How can Etsy do this to people? This is the worst first impression any new seller could make and they are doing it to all new sellers. It's hard enough to get your first sale and they go and pull this crap. No warning, no email, no timeframe. Total BS! And I'm in the middle of running ads on my listings. Wth is wrong with Esty? Do they want people even selling on their platform?
I got my first sale 15 days into my new Etsy store. Hoping to get more sales soon.

Over 3.5k sales. Always looking for ways & ideas to increase sales. Takes lots of work. All my items are handmade. Make sure you have great titles, seo, pictures, descriptions, etc. Having a cohesive website & a specific niche helps.
Close a shop with no sales in that time frame 😲 I've been at mine for a year.. I was shockingly bad at the start.. listings, effort in general I guess.. I've recently gotten renewed energy for it so I'm trying a lot harder.. I only have 28 sales in about 14 months.. not many products and I'm not particularly looking to flood my shop with new creations asap either.. what I'm most happy about is my 5.0 star rating and some really nice reviews..

yes ! I have a question, about commas in the list heading. Are they necessary? Example I sell pajama pants, I can only have so many spaces, so sometimes i will write example: Custom lounge sleep pj pants, . If I don't use a comma and then in the same sentence instead of using the word custom again can I skip the comma ? if so will Etsy consider the rest of the listing as also "custom"? Example again Custom Sleep Lounge Pj Pants Pajama Jammies Sleep Lounge Wear. So I save spaces?
Etsy ignores commas, but if they make the title more human readble, I would leave them in!
Use the tags and make the title readable would be my advice.
Pretty new (couldn’t really work on it for awhile). Under 100 sales but much is from my own mistakes and am going thru everything to correct past items, including making better images, and rechecking new items and doing research. I knew it would be slow and have no intention of quitting. Just getting better. I haven’t even put up the 100s of digital items that I already have (undecided where). 100k
??? Im in Australia. Been looking into Etsy and read/heard so much conflicting information. Im techno challenged and not sure that I would know how to do it all. Basically, is there any point on listing hand made vintage ornamental books, but there would only be five or more to start with ?. Some people say you have to have lots of items and others say no you can just list 2 items. Im very confused. I dont want to make a fortune, just to find an outlet for my creations (apart from Marketplace). TIA

I opened my Etsy shop this year in February. I have had one sale. LOL! I have 15 listings, but I really haven't figured out what my niche is. I really don't know what I'm doing. My husband got me a laser cutter for Christmas and I thought I could maybe make things to sell and learn how to make some extra income when we "retire".

I have a question. If it's about creating your own brand, why search best sellers. I mean, before some become best sellers they invested into an item that most have never seen before...at least in that style, niche, etc.

Trying to find out how to sell on Etsy
Been a on etsy for a while, 2021 or 2022 to 2024, started a new shop in maybafter my shop got suspended. 0 sales still. Unsure about etsy ads as it costs even more reading
5 months...20 sales. took me a while to figure out that I needed a niche. Now still struggling to get sales - really questioning my niche/ability to design.
I just started selling Bridal gifts only family bought so far. I'm trying to market I don't know how to get followers on any of my platforms.
Should we be holding back listings until September and risking them not selling and getting lost in the backwater or adding them now?

So basically make the thing that’s already selling, just make it better and put it for cheaper.

For relevant customers yes. Obviously one product would never rank first for EVERYONE

Ok well what about forever sales? As a consumed I HATE them. I have been so put off by them because I feel taken advantage of. Or even worse where they raise the original price and discount it heavily so they are actually selling it for a similar or higher price than others in the same space. I have competitors, one who conveniently came out with the same design as I a little over a month than me and who is selling more than me. And I have been watching them and they run these scummy forever sales. They list item at $14, but discount constantly at 25% so it actually sells for more than mine at regular price! So of course they got the best seller badge and my item, despite being much nicer, got pushed down the search.
I sell digital downloads, is it against Etsy TOS to include a separate pdf that allows them to sign up for your email list?

It took me a little under 5 months to make both 100 listing and 100 sales, pretty much at the same time. 25 reviews all 5 start, I design much faster than I do listing or packaging. The market is lively and pretty full, but full of the same thing/style, cute, girly, childish. All the sort of things I would see in a class, but not on my wall.
I have a more contemporary beau-art style, I've focus on evergreen listings for my first year.
I know that my market is around 20 mil customer and growing. Much less for the heavy machinery of lasercut or 3D printer that can also use my product. I also know that my target buyer don't have a clue about copyright and are very unruly. I posted a render in a group and the next day, the png low quality was shared in another group, no credit, nothing. They all want free stuff and don't even know they are stealing. Anyway, I treat my shop like a business, steady 5% CR, quite nice. I cross my fingers the scaling up come soon since I will be without revenu for about a year for a medical procedure. My Etsy is my attempt at having some pocket money during that time.
