    Thanks, Gentlemen! I'm a wildlife artist/photographer, and I've had good luck wholesaling my framed prints and greeting cards to stores, but I really want to learn merchandising my images on my own, online. This may take a minute, but when I have sales while I'm painting I'll be way ahead of driving all over for half the price. Your points made good sense.

    As a hairdresser and Salon owner and photographer who also sells online...and I am a huge online buyer.
    These are somethings we know in my field
    1. Failure to keep customers aka return buyer.
    2. Terrible product photos and not enough vital information.
    3. Terrible customer service and the gang up mentality. Going into groups and accusing every single customer issue as a scam instead of taking responsibility for errors or inferior product. The I absolutely take no returns people. Big mistake.
    4. The biggest issue...the inability to edit their art. The inability to understand what a quality product is. Lack of quality control.
    As a photographer we shoot hundreds to find that perfect shot.. that one perfect photo if we can't get it ..we keep trying...
    People ship out inferior products. Bad prints, bad designs etc. If they do POD get samples from your vendors! How can you send things out without getting samples?

    As to your first point, of course I clicked on your video because of the “shop name”. Now following you here and Podcast plus I signed up for your emails.
    *laughing* I’ve had an Etsy shop for about 5 years with junk in it and little of that, was considering adding “Design” to the name.

    As I'm listening to you, I'm wondering if there's such a thing as "collaboration"? If I sell surf shirts or beach themed garments, and I'd like to add surfboards and Etsy has a fantastic shop that makes surfboards and you see your shirts will look great with them. Can I merge with the surfboard shop and make my shirts available in their shop and "drop" the surfboards shop with possibly a mutual discount? If this is possible, can you do a "video" on this?

    Your marketing tips are great for when you already have some sales or views but what about when you are completely new? How do you get people to even start to view your listings and show up higher in search ranks (besides optimizing SEO etc)? The email lists and notifications to people who have favourited, saved your items, etc , only work once you already have some traffic coming to your store. How do you FIRST get that traffic and the views though?

    I am brand new….my idea for my shop name that I am JUST starting is Soy Wick Inspirations. My focus is soy candles (from Printify) but the designs are all Bible verses and uplifting sayings.
    Would you say I could entirely branch out to include other things like wall art, tshirts, bags, etc with the same designs? Or do I need to keep it as candles with that shop name? Just still wrapping my head around all of this. lol

    Listing digital wall art designs. I get about 3% conversion rates and about 10 views per listing per month. My business plan is to get to 400 listings, so based on my metrics so far that would be 120 sales per month. Once I hit that consistently I would scale to 4000 listings slowly.

    This is great info! I have a general shop with 4 or 5 different sub niches. I am not getting the sales I should after a year and 1,100 listings. But I'm not giving up. Would it be better to start fresh or try to reorganize my current shop and pivot?

    • @brandcreators
      @brandcreators  Год назад

      If you're not getting ANY sales, you may want to look at the existing listings you ahve to see if there is ANY demand for them.
      If you are getting a few sales, just not as many as you want, I would reposition the store around the subniche that's leading to most of the sales and go from there.

  • @Mistressofthegroove

    Why cant I just open a shop that focuses on novelty mugs.. why cant mugs be my niche? I did think of opening a physical store doing this. There is a local shop near me that just stocks novelty cushions and seems to be doing well in the real world. I want to upload around 2k listings of my own designs I would just like to see how popular my designs are, see how sales go, I would be happy with a regular 300 sales per month. If I was pulling in 2k net profit per month that would do for me. Am I doomed? Or is this realistic?

    • @brandcreators
      @brandcreators  9 месяцев назад

      Products are not a niche, products are what people in a niche buy.
      There's nothing inherently wrong with creating a product-based store, it's just substantially harder to achieve any sort of success when you're using the throw spaghetti at a wall or trend chasing approach that's required for success and you're only focused on one type of product
