This video was a breath of fresh air. So many people on RUclips say you shouldn't run ads until you have a bestseller, which makes no sense to me. As soon as I ran ads I got sales within a few days and decided to change keywords for listings that weren't getting views. It's also refreshing to hear that no one can run a business in just a few hours a week with minimal effort. I feel like I'm inundated with articles like that, and making and marketing quality products takes time, practice, and constant learning.
Literally just starting , at the computer now. I have posted 3 items and still plugging away. I have spent the past 5 months researching and learning all about Etsy. With a full time job, this is all consuming outside of work as you all know.
Well…..still plugging away many hours each day. Have a few listings up. Struggling to get a cohesive vibe with the store/photos. I’m all for purchasing samples to create my own mockups, but I can’t do that for everything. I don’t want to look like everyone else. Many times when I scroll Etsy, everything looks the same. You didn't have to watch it, you could have skipped the video and watch another which isn't such a "waste" of your dear old time... As I read other comments on this it seems you're the only one complaining...
They have a great radio show pr type channel. I have tried to listen and get some tips but I agree it’s very infomercial-ish. Anyone on RUclips who doesn’t list their Etsy store link isn’t honest. The jury is still out for me on this channel.

Hello fellas! I really love your videos, especially since they're against the grain of most Etsy gurus, so I can add some new strategies to my tool kit. I'm heading into 18k sales in my POD shop, but over the summer I've run into a new problem that I honestly haven't seen before. I've been keeping track of the financial news regarding Etsy, and I'm not completely blaming this issue on their financial issues....but now when I run ads on well-researched products, and put up a couple hundred dollars a day, those products aren't getting views. About a week later, I'll get maybe fifty views if I'm lucky, and a super high click through rates. What gives, Etsy? How frustrating. I'm starting to wonder if there's just no enough space to share. If I'm already niching down, how much further do I have to go? Any thoughts on this issue? Would love to hear what can be done about this, when it's obviously not a design issue (with the high click through rates) but a space issue on Etsy.
Always look at your stats and dig in deep because you will find a gold mine. I have people coming to my Etsy from all over. Forums I never even posted on. Which means someone referred me or spoke of me and others came to my shop. I am so excited about it and never dreamed that would happen. Sometimes you put in the work and you don't know if it is doing anything until you look at your analytics.

Don't you have an issue with Everbees suggested keyphrases? It seems to suck at it. Ex: I'll type in keyphrase "retro tshirt for women" Everbee will give me data on that specific keyphrase BUT then all the other "related keywords" it gives are so generic. For the example I gave above, Everbee will then give data for other phrases like "Tshirt for women" "t shirts women" VS much better keyword tools which give related keyphrase data like "80s shirts for women" "custom retro shirts" Etc Hope that makes sense. In summary, I stopped using Everbee after I saw it's horrible at giving related keyphrase data. For context, I have SEO experience pre Etsy.

is it better to make sure all 13 keywords are filled (even if some are generic keywords like "wood") OR is it better to leave some blank and make sure the keywords are relevant (but then don't leave them all filled in)

The strategy you explained is fine. But all our competitors are already using this strategy. And our competitors are well established and have deeper pockets. So how can we compete with them and stand out? Because selling the best-selling products is what everybody is doing. Finding low competiton and high demand products within a niche is what everybody does 😕

1420 views and only 7 sells in a month! something is wrong with my listing, right? I sell pre-drawn canvas paintable for kids, I did my research in Everbee but everyone calls this product in a different way (paint your own, canvas painting kit for kids, canvas party favors...) it's confusing.

Is there a way to see samples of what works? Title, description, tags. Everyone doing something different. The biggest sellers don’t use all the pics, big descriptions, or lot of words.
I see many people who also have RUclips channels in addition to Etsy stores. Does one need to be on RUclips to get business for the Etsy store? Is it required?
It's not required by Etsy.... However, if you sell a product that a video of someone using or wearing the item, YT is GREAT! Much better than a 5-15 second video with no sound!

Lots of bla-bla. I summarize the 2 hours here: “Sell 3 to 5 products you know will sell” Wow.

is it better to make sure all 13 keywords are filled (even if some are generic keywords like "wood") OR is it better to leave some blank and make sure the keywords are relevant (but then don't leave them all filled in)

The strategy you explained is fine. But all our competitors are already using this strategy. And our competitors are well established and have deeper pockets. So how can we compete with them and stand out? Because selling the best-selling products is what everybody is doing. Finding low competiton and high demand products within a niche is what everybody does 😕

I am brand new. Less than a week. Wanting an e commerce presence
1420 views and only 7 sells in a month! something is wrong with my listing, right? I sell pre-drawn canvas paintable for kids, I did my research in Everbee but everyone calls this product in a different way (paint your own, canvas painting kit for kids, canvas party favors...) it's confusing.

Is there a way to see samples of what works? Title, description, tags. Everyone doing something different. The biggest sellers don’t use all the pics, big descriptions, or lot of words.

I see many people who also have RUclips channels in addition to Etsy stores. Does one need to be on RUclips to get business for the Etsy store? Is it required?
It's not required by Etsy.... However, if you sell a product that a video of someone using or wearing the item, YT is GREAT! Much better than a 5-15 second video with no sound!
