"I'm not a proper watercolour artist..." YES, YOU ARE! An artist is some who creates not because they want to, but they HAVE to. It's a need to express that wonderful creativity deep inside of yourself. The only rules that apply is that you do what makes you happy. I love this video. Definitely going to try this, and use my die cuts/Clarity/Holtz/Sheena stamps as well. 💖💖💖
My husband and I watched this together today and laughed with pleasure over the baby and you. I was in a bad mood...NO MORE!!! Thanks for lifting my day! God used you not only for these lovely inspirational cards but to put a smile on an old lady's heart!!! (I'm 70) :D
How lovely to find your channel today. Not only are your paintings beautiful, but your narration is very calming. Just what we need in these crazy times: beauty, creativity, and calm. Thank you, and happy holidays!
Oooh, you're so cute! All your phrases like "don't worry if you doesn't have this or that, don't worry if you think that you couldn't do beautiful, it's all okay and it will work, i promise" are so kind and warm that they did me keep smiling through all video! Thank you not for only the card tutorial (which is very cool too, i'll definately try it!), but also for such good emotions received from this video, i'm so glad that it popped up in my youtube recomendations♡♡♡

I have these really beautiful set of expensive watercolors that were gifted to me years ago. They sat unused for a long long time. Now I found this, and I painted my very first painting. Thank you.
I am frankly not good at it much at all, but your fun, open, honest, and optimistic attitude helps me keep a positive attitude and keep trying. I love hearing Hannah in the background! I was a single mom with 3 children under 4 years old, working full time and in college full time. Everything I did was with my children. I even worked where they were in day care a preschool. When we got home at the end of the day, they sat at the table and in their high chairs while I cooked supper, with a text book propped up for study. They had food allergies, so all from scratch. We sang, we played, we cried...and they are now all wonderful, loving, adults...well educated with great work ethic and commitment to the world. Hannah will be a a wonderful person!

Lovely cards as always... I adore hearing your little bubba, and Emily in the backgrounds when they are there... I have a little boy 2.5 years and am wanting another bubba, and he is there with me crafting sometimes... so it is heartwarming to hear other children around their mummies when they are crafting or even playing with them...
I love your precious “background noise”. So much fun hearing Hanna. I love your relaxed way of teaching and love your videos! Thank you for sharing your talents!!
Thanks you for this tutorial. I love how genuine and positive you are. Hearing your daughter during the video was not a distraction for me, she was a sweet addition. Real life happens! Your cards are so beautiful, I must try this technique!
I like the tim Holt stamping platform. I got the small one abuts to small for what I like so if you get one try the med or the large. Then you'll have one that you can do any size of cards.
Beautiful! I've worked with watercolor for years and I love watching you play with them! The 'rule' about not using white watercolor depends mostly on what you're painting. For example using white when painting a bright sunset will make it look muddy, because white is opaque and the fact that most watercolors are translucent is what gives the unique bright quality. You use white wonderfully!!
This is the kind of tutorials I really enjoy watching. You’re super encouraging and calm the entire time and it’s so relaxing to watch. And I love that you’re just using any watercolour tools without worrying about using “the most expensive”. Your daughter in the background just melts my heart! Thanks for a great tutorial!
Ms. Marta. You are such a delight and an inspiration. You paint, film, and have your sweet baby girl right there with you. VERY commendable. I love the sounds of her playing....it's so 'realistic and natural' to home life. :-) I also notice there are 2 other ladies here who have agoraphobia. I want to tell them - Catherine and Helen - I am praying for them. I am a 'recovering' agoraphobic; I now can actually drive quite a distance around town ( I was totally homebound for 10 years). I can drive all over the U.S if someone is with me. It was a very slow, step by step, one day at a time process. So...ladies, never give up. :-) p.s. - I can even fly now! My hubby and I are actually headed to Scotland next summer. Yes!! :-)
Thanks, Kathy, for your pearls of wisdom. Agoraphobia is strange to me, as I WAS the life of the party, I was the party, I planned the party, then...it hit. Wow. I'm getting better, and find a shower with pretty hair very first thing in the morning, and a tiny art store list, is working best so far. I never ever would have guessed I would be this person. I had scores and scores of friends. My wonderful friends now are artists, lovely people like Miss Marta, and others. So if painting wc keeps me inside? Not a bad deal! :) Happy Thanksgiving!
These cards are beautiful Marta. Will definitely be trying this technique. I love watercolour. I have had a Misti since the day it was sold. I love mine and it is the most used tool in my stash, as I stamp in pretty much all of my projects. A lot of people commented on their Tonic - Tim Holtz one, but it is no longer in production, as the creators of the Misti challenged them in court and won. There are still some in the shops, but once they are sold, that is it. I have also used that one, but for me, the Misti wins, hands down!
I would love to see baby in the beginning or the end of your videos! I think it will encourage busy mommies that they can things they enjoy and still be a mother.
A blessing that I found your channel 💫🌹 You have the kindest, most calming, patient voice I’ve ever heard. Thank you for this video. The cards are lovely, and as a beginner, I will definitely try this. I have both the Misti and the Tim Holtz platforms. Both are worth it and make things so much easier. I prefer the Tim Holtz because it is a little more versatile.
I have the Misti and was happy with it when I first got it, however it has plastic hinges, which over time get weak and now one has totally broken off and the others look like they will break soon. It is smaller and more lightweight than the Tim Holtz, but I now have the Tim Holtz and like it better! Much sturdier and better built, and yet it costs less! Plus I like the way the top flips over to use with rubber stamps on one side or polymer/acrylic/clear stamps on the other side. Also, it stays newer looking, because for some reason the ink doesn’t stain it like the Misti.(I always clean the ink off right away, but still have stains and cloudiness on the Misti. I loved the technique in this video! These are beautiful cards!!
I just tried this and it turned out so great! So simple and yet effective. This is my first try using watercolour and now I’m super excited to try more!
Thank you Marta for sharing your beautiful cards..I don’t usually comment but wanted to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas..I watch your tutorials all the time and I hope someday I’ll be half as good, and I keep trying..l was given a misti which I love, and I also have Tim Holts platform..Had trouble stamping with the platform till I saw a video where they put a piece of craft foam..I now have no problems getting clear stamping..Happy Holidays to you and all fellow viewers.....
Beautiful and stress free. I may add the North Star! And I have 4! stamping platforms... Tim Holtz beats them all. I love that you can stamp off the edge with his. I am waiting for my q-tip wreaths to dry. Love them! Give your babies a hug. We love All of you!
Hi Marta I hope you and your lovely little family are all well. After watching many of your tutorials I have just noticed you are left handed, I am also. These paintings are lovely and I am going to try this at the weekend. Love Angela xx
Marta as a beginner, I love ur videos. You are so encouraging and inspirational that it is so easy to want to try to paint. Thank you for sharing with us all.
Hi Marta, I love your tutorial. What a pleasure to watch such a lovely person in her creative mood! My watercolors are lying on my shelf bored to death, time to put them in some use :) I also love the idea of donating handmade cards into charity, as one of the lady viewers wrote in comments; one should always read comments to find out even more! Have a wonderful December, Marta, full of beautiful projects. Hugs for you and your family :)
Tim Holtz platform is my preferred tool for stamping. I like the ability to use different sizes of paper. Thanks for the video…I love the trees and how easy the background was to paint.
Totally enjoyed your video, I am going to make these with my grandchildren to give to their parents, teachers, and other grandparents. You forgot the glitter though. I was interested to see where you were going to put it. This was a great simple card that even new watercolor painters can accomplish and be proud of their efforts. Thanks!
These are beautiful !! I don't know if anyone else has written that you can use washi tejp around the card as you paint, it won't warp the paper as you dry it. It also creates a crisp white border :) Thank you for sharing
Beautiful cards, love, love, love! I use the Tim Holtz stamping platform and love it so much because it's big enough to use the large scrapbook paper in and the top is reversible to use either rubber stamps or cling stamps! Yeah!
So lovely.... I haven’t done a watercolor painting for 35 years but your cards inspires me... I did a lot of research before I bought my stamping platform and I chose the Tim Holtz tonic studios stamping platform... it is very versatile! Thx, Connie

All of the advice you give in this video is so so good ! And so important to know too as a beginner. Thank you for sharing with all of us !! Wonderful tutorial.

Lovely cards - easy technique - thank you for the tutorial! As for stamping platforms, I really like the Tim Holtz travel sized stamping platform - it's open on one size which helps accommodate lots of different sizes of card stock. Happy Holidays and thanks again!
I have these paints and love them. I got them at Jo-Anns. I thought the cover was broken but I discovered it is made to come off easily so you can either use it as a palate or put it out of the way.
Marta, Marta, Marta. Real watercolorists do use white for a few reasons. It can make a non granulating color appear granulating; it can make a transparent color semi transparent; it can make a more muted shade . Very useful if you only have 12 to 18 colors in your whole pallet and want to do a wide range of subject matter on a limited budget. Don't listen to the watercolor snobs. Times they are a changing! 😃😄😘
I totally agree! If white wasn't needed, why the biggest art supplies producers would even bother to make one? :P Okay, being able to paint the whole picture by leaving proper places blank instead of using white can indicate some higher level of watercolor skill, but for me even more greater would be to paint the whole picture just with three primary colors + white & black, just by making all needed colors...
Agree. The artist makes the rules for her work. My palette includes white gouache and lamp black and the lovely moody granulating lunar black and I use them alone and for mixing. I have listened to videos by watercolorists stating that black looks like dark holes sucking color out of your work! That's just too dramatic in my mind and there are no dark deep horrible holes in my paintings when I use black and when I need white nothing horrible happens either, in fact it is all good.
Exactly! I like to do sometimes also mixed technique and I don't care if someone like it - of course artist can use special masking fluid isntead of white gouache or acrylic paint , that's what most of watercolor artists are doing, it's not even an extra skill, it's easy.
I realize that I'm late to this video but I wanted to first of all thank you. I love watching your videos. You are so very encouraging. I love listening to your baby in the background and to your older daughter when she joins you in your videos. And, of course, I greatly enjoy your accent! I have the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform and I like it a lot. I highly recommend it.

Cute! We Are Memory Keepers has an excellent and affordable stamping platform. It's called a "precision press". It uses posts instead of a hinge and I think it makes the stamping more precise.

I was interested to see where you were going to put it. This was a great simple card that even new watercolor painters can accomplish and be proud of their efforts. Thanks!
Love your cards. I use the mini misti i want to get the full size version. Totally worth it.
These are beautiful !! I don't know if anyone else has written that you can use washi tejp around the card as you paint, it won't warp the paper as you dry it. It also creates a crisp white border :) Thank you for sharing
Thank you for the nice, calm and honest explenation. Just started with watercolor as a new calming hobby against my burn out so help needed 😉
You are so welcome!

Beautiful cards, love, love, love! I use the Tim Holtz stamping platform and love it so much because it's big enough to use the large scrapbook paper in and the top is reversible to use either rubber stamps or cling stamps! Yeah!
So nice to see a left handed doing watercolor. The is appreciated. 🙂
So lovely.... I haven’t done a watercolor painting for 35 years but your cards inspires me... I did a lot of research before I bought my stamping platform and I chose the Tim Holtz tonic studios stamping platform... it is very versatile! Thx, Connie

Beautiful cards again Marta xx
You have encouraged and inspired me to give it a try! Thank you so much!
enjoy !! :)
Lovely cards - easy technique - thank you for the tutorial! As for stamping platforms, I really like the Tim Holtz travel sized stamping platform - it's open on one size which helps accommodate lots of different sizes of card stock. Happy Holidays and thanks again!
You make lovely videos! I learn so much while I giggle along with you and baby Hannah!🎨
I have these paints and love them. I got them at Jo-Anns. I thought the cover was broken but I discovered it is made to come off easily so you can either use it as a palate or put it out of the way.
These are wonderful cards--You are an amazing artist as well as a beautiful person with a big heart!
Thank you so much! be sure to check this week watercolor christmas videos, you may love them 🌲❄️💕🦌😍🎀
Thank you for your tutorials! You are so encouraging & relaxed. You inspire me! I love your art.
Thank you so much!
beautifully done and inspirational. simple and elegant.
Awww thank you for saying this ❤️🙏
I totally agree!
@@starleen1981 I love using just three colors. It's very good for beginners to use a limited pallet to get to understand color.😉💜
Exactly! I like to do sometimes also mixed technique and I don't care if someone like it - of course artist can use special masking fluid isntead of white gouache or acrylic paint , that's what most of watercolor artists are doing, it's not even an extra skill, it's easy.
love the cards, I will try my hand this year making my own cards.......wish me luck!!
Good luck! Added new video today 🦌🎄🥰🎀❤️🎅 Enjoy:

I realize that I'm late to this video but I wanted to first of all thank you. I love watching your videos. You are so very encouraging. I love listening to your baby in the background and to your older daughter when she joins you in your videos. And, of course, I greatly enjoy your accent! I have the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform and I like it a lot. I highly recommend it.

Lovely and simple. Thank you. And as for stamping platform, I made my own out of a hinged photo frame from the dollar store.
Very simple, very effective! Thanks Marta. Now I can get my cards done!
New to your channel and new to watercolor. And loving what you do and how easy you make it. Thank you
You are so welcome! Thank you 🎄🎅🦌 how about checking mew newest video ? 5 ideas 5 cards :) ruclips.net/video/hRxRkMx3etA/видео.html
I’m going to use this video to make my best friends Christmas cards in their favourite colours!
These are lovely!!! Thank you for sharing!!!!
I love this, will definitely be trying this one
Cute! We Are Memory Keepers has an excellent and affordable stamping platform. It's called a "precision press". It uses posts instead of a hinge and I think it makes the stamping more precise.
Hello :):):):) How about checking this year 2020 version of this video ! Posted just now :) Have I improved ? You will love it ! ruclips.net/video/icKcp5bK4JM/видео.html
I'm sure you've improved, even though this tutorial was amazing. I was just answering your question about the stamping platform... ;-).
Beautiful.. thank you for sharing. The Misti and Tim Holtz platforms are excellent. I purchased an inexpensive one at first but soon realized its limitations. Big waste of money... beginner mistake!
