don't worry so much about your English, it's far better than most of our French [I assume] it's fun, charming, and inspiring to watch you paint and learn along with us I and clearly many others are loving it! keep it up, and feel better soon pregnancy can be tough and uncomfortable, my son always kicked more when I was sitting or lying down as well, at least you know all is well with your little stranger when they kick how long until you "meet" him or her? that will be a magical day you will never forget, my kids are twenty-eight and thirty now, but it still seems like yesterday when I met them for the first time, you will have so much fun with them over the next few years, just know it goes way too fast, try to keep a journal so you remember every little thing, you will want to, but you probably won't, I wish I had with each of them, I remember things, but not how old they were when they happened and that makes me sad
Marta- I used to work in a rubber stamp store. We always used thin foam pads or a magazine under our card for stamping. It gives a better surface for stamping. I LOVE your videos - you are such a sweetheart!!

After a few days of heavy cleaning, I am so happy that a 1 hour 10 minute video popped up. Do you think your followers are nuts? Because I know that I am not the only one. I needed a good break after all my hard work. They all came out great, but The tree is my favorite, but I am also loving Rudolph and Christmas wreath, oh come on, I love them all.

To stamp better try using a mouse pad. You place the pad under your paper allowing you to get a better connection from stamp to paper! I even use one on my tonic platform.
I had not painted with watercolor for quite long. But you gave me the want to do so and I played with you. Made three beautiful cards. Thanks!

Those cards are adorable! Love Rudolph and the tree where you blew the watercolor - great idea! I like them all - but those are my two favorites.
I love them all, but my favourites are Rudolf and that crazy christmas tree that is just so pretty.
You can scrub the plastic palette with toothpaste so the paint won't bead on it.

I do dutch pours with acrylic and use a straw many times to move paint around. I had no idea to try using a straw for watercolors. Great idea Marta! I love the cards! Thank you.
To stop your watercolor from beading up on the pallet scrub it with a rough sponge with soap and water and it'll take off the coating. it'll bead up a little bit but not nearly as much and eventually it'll stop beading up all together

My kind of watercolor! Quick, easy, no thinking. Love loose painting. My problem is that I think too much.
Soap won't fix a bent brush where the Brissels are bent at all it will only fix stray hairs but if you boil some water and only hold the Brissels in the water for a little bit of time only like a minute it should re shape the brush

mrcynthiag all you have to do is put a little bit of acetone nail polish remover acetone in a jar and put the brush in the acetone only enough to cover the bristles don't let the acetone go up the metal part or they handle the brush only enough to cover the bristles keep messing with it and stirring it around. After about I don't know maybe 10 to 20 minutes or so your brush should be good as new wash it with soap and water and you'll be good. Acrylic paint is the hardest to get out of brushes once it has dried this truck is a miracle for that as well.
A wreath - think it of it as sounding like "reeth" Love your videos. They always encourage me to try whatever you are teaching. Am praying for your health & new baby.
I love these cards. They are so pretty !!! Teaching about the colors and tools is just as important as the actual painting.

Cherry,you being a cookie decorator,,I bet you could do these designs.Decorating cookies is an art skill in itself.Plus there are so many great cookie cutters out there.The only time I try to decorate cookies is during the holidays.So fun .;)
you can thin liquid or paste colors down with a grain alcohol like Everclear or very cheap vodka to thin enough to paint with and use watercolor brushes to do it, just make sure the Royal icing is dry enough to paint on, and be sure to rinse the sugar out of the brushes so ants don't get attracted to them, and they don't get hardened and ruined!

I just watched another artist use white gouche paint in a wet on wet watercolour painting to make snow. It was super bright. These videos are wonderful. I’ve just discovered them in February:( I’m a subbie but I only just pressed notifications bell today because you make me so happy Marta and I can’t be missing your videos. I have watercolour paints I’ve barely used. I feel inspired to try now. I was an art teacher many years ago and call myself an artist but depression and disability keep me bed ridden a lot of the time. I am going to paint this year and I promise I will show you. :) Thank you for inspiring me.

They are all beautiful.... so pretty even being simple and quick. I like such ideas with watercolors and just few sketch lines. I myself love creating art with few lines and lightly shaded colors. :)

Just an FYI, if you do sketch first with pencil and then you paint over, the pencil will be trapped under the paint and cannot be erased. 😉

Such a great video Marta. I'm just starting to play with watercolor and these look like something good for me to try. If you want a snowflake to look more like a snowflake, make it with 6 points. 8-pointed snowflakes can look more like compasses. All real snowflakes are always hexagonal crystals. Just some nerdy info I thought you might like. 😋

Marta, you could get very affordable ceramic saucer dish in clean white, one small dish for one color. The watercolor spreads like a dream on any ceramic dish. Get white so you can see the Color. If you can find those ceramic flower dish ready-made, even better. 😊

Ceramic dishes are wonderful to use. I have 8 little dishes and it's great to have each paint readily mixed and available, especially from watercolour tubes.

Marta, I am commenting up front because I have a lot of work at home to accomplish today. Even when I can't sit and watch through, I sometimes keep your videos on because my parrot and I love to hear your voice. When I go out, sometimes I play one of your playlists for parrot so he doesn't get lonely. Parrot is now tired of me and wants to live with you. I have said, "No, Bundy. You have to be a guinea pig to live at Marta's house."
Anyway, before I hit play again, I will just say that I have those cheaper paints in both the kind you're showing and the metallic, and they're a lot of fun. I have used them with stamps and black ink, painting in areas here and there to add color. The metallic colors work great for that. They can make a stamped image really pop.
Okay, that's it. I have to get some things done, so I will begin to listen to the rest of your video, and will go over it again later when I can really focus on what you're doing. Thank you for everything, Marta. You're a wonderful person, and also, congratulations on your recent You Tube award.

another tip you only need 2 jars of water and your water won't get as dirty as they do have one jar for rinsing your brush and that would be your dirty jar and then keep one jar clean for picking up new water or a second rinse of your brush after you rinse tin the dirty water go ahead and put it in the clean water again in your clean water should always stay clean

Hi! I love watching your tutorials on watercolor for beginners. I was inspired to try a couple of designs, you made it look so easy, It wasn't easy at all for me. I considered myself to be a good artist however Ii had never tried watercolors. There is a lot to know, about watercolor paper and paints and brushes. I will keep trying and if I get something descent I will be happy to show you. I had done cards in the past with colored pencils and ink, but I didn't know about the stamps you can use or the way you can put your finished cards on card stock and frame them in. Thanks for sharing!
