  • I bought MY first tractor! We upgraded to a John Deere 6175R and also got a new Loftness snow blower for it, along with a new HLA 4500 snow pusher from Good Works Tractors. Dad also traded for a newer, larger John Deere skid loader, a 332G model. FBN Todd also helped me load some data (dayta?) and Anna did some attack training.

Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Zack do they make battery tenders like the motorcycle type for tractors and trucks, farms have equipment that sits for weeks and battery is dead when you need it. Check for a sponsor on batteries and maintenance with chargers.

Average your fuel and DEF are 1:1 on all machines, when you fill up the fuel typically you'll fill up the DEF

Abby the Dobie, loves watching me work. She finds a nice shaded area, lays down and then proceeds to watch me break my back. Our little ranch is in TN, about 80 miles east of Nashville. Ana the dog looks to be quite similar to Abby.

Hello Zack, Just passing on some information from Canada since this is your first tractor with a DPF + SCR, Diesel Exhaust Fluid equipped tractor. AVOID IDELNG at all costs. Do not run your tractor at idle for 5-10 minutes to (warm up) and YES 1200 RPM still count's as idelling. Turn the enigne on, let sit till the idle is stable then take off! The exhaust does ont get hot enough when running under no load conditions and WILL PLUG UP over time! When ever the engine goes into regen mode, do not delay it unless you absolutely have to (are surrounded by inflammable materials). Watch the quality of your DEF fluid and be careful where you store it. DEF is sensitive to sunlight.

Snow removal 'round here (Va) is mostly the sun. Although we will scrape when it gets really deep, like, more than 3 inches...
Nice tractor. We have a 6150M without DEF and a big blue thang with it. It ain't too bad to deal with, just watch the shelf life. Nobody locally stocks anything more than the small jugs, which aren't nearly as bad to deal with as I expected. Actually not bad at all.

Hope y'all stay in good shape and don't get sick like the rest of the country. Stay safe and may every seed you plant produces ten gold.

Why is the forklift yellow when it is from John Deere, shouldn’t it be green

Had a 6430 and traded it for a 6145R. Like the extra power and weight but HATE the reduced visibility of my loader in the front. I could use the 6430 like a fork lift, now I cant see the fork tips when I unload seed or chemical totes at ALL. Put a camera on it but it still is a pain, I have to jump out each time to make sure I am not punching a hole in anything.

Maybe now people will realize that we can go without celebrities and pro sports, but we can’t go without farmers. Like this is you want to be a farmer when u grow up to put food on the table.

Zach on our farm we have a 330G, it is a fantastic upgrade and I just don't think you can go wrong. I've moved several hundred 1500lb hay bales and it just plays with them.

i know they are red, but wouldn't something lik a Manitou MH25 forklift or MLT tele handler be a more ergonomic way to load and unload instead of the skitsteer?

Forklift would be nice on concrete but it can't do much besides move things around inside the shed. Skiddy is much more versatile

    A 6175r as a chore tractor 🙈🙈 over here that'd be a flagship machine on a farm!! 😅

biggest pain going from open cab to closed cab skid steer is not being able to get out of it if loader isn't down...
If they were a bit cheaper, I'd go with a JCB /w the side door

Good show. Never having farmed for a living, I had no idea how family farms worked. Very eye opening. Would like to hear more.
