Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

O my God I can't find the rest of the pod cast about the cannon ball.
link.chtbl.com/i0RmzU9h
Millennial Farmer what episode and time stamp?
Cooper Meshew Sue makes a mean hot dish, about an hour in
Cooper Meshew the last 16-17 minutes of Sue makes a mean Hotdish
It's the end of the Sue Makes A Mean Hot Dish, 1:02:00
This pod cast with Joey might be the best hour of listening I have ever experienced. It is a small miracle that Randy survived his childhood.
My wife and I were driving into town and I passed a neighbor that had their thunder creek fuel trailer on, not even thinking about it i said our load “thunder” my wife said “what did you say” I said “ you wouldn’t understand 🤣🤣”
🤣🤣🤣
Thats great🤣
I did the same thing yesterday.
Love the idea of attaching the podcast. This is my favorite episode. It’s saved in my podcast. I have listened to this one about 5 times now. Great idea.
I’ve been listening to off the husk since you first announced it and the cannonball one was by far the funniest podcast I’ve ever heard!
No I’m not alright. I got a concussion from watching the camera take the tumble🤣🤣
Stanley Harrell I was reading this comment and when I looked up at the video that’s when the camera fell
Just finished the new episodes of both podcasts today. Best. Podcasts. Ever.
Greeting's from Croatia Zack..
..like always, this channel makes me happy!
Stay healthy and keep on! :)
I heard that OTH cannonball story awhile back and listened to it multiple times. Fantastic and hilarious story.
being EOD in my USAF days down at Clark AB in the Philippines during the 80's, many an unexploded ordinance would surface after torrential monsoon rains and we'd have a ball setting these up for controlled detonation right where they lie. You didn't dare move them because of the volatility. The worst part was having to haul in bags of sand to surround the ordinance to reduce collateral damage and reduce shock-wave concussion.
Hey, helpful tip from one trucker to another. It’s easier to open the hood on a t800 from the fender. Lifts way easier then using the hood mount handle!
JIIIIIIIM!!!! HE MADE IT THRU WINTER!! 👏👏👏🤠
That podcast is absolutely insane and seriously funny! I was born in Oskaloosa IA. and it reminds me of similarly funny stories growing up. Thanks for all the videos.
Oh my I listened to the podcast! I about split a gut laughing! I'm 72 I grew up on a farm. 12 kids right boys four girls. I thought we were bad ! We did some crazy things, but WOW
I bought a cannon round at a antique shop couple years back. Rolled around the trunk of the car on the home. Got home .. kid next door was looking at it. Suddenly said - something is moving around when I shake it. Make a phone call to the fire department - soon street closed off - police fire and a bomb squad at my house. They pack it up in a box with packing and take off with it. Asked if anything left of it would like it back. Nope was live and it was blown up by them. Heard it was a WW2 anti-tank round and was live. So been there / done that before. Wife doesn't let me buy them anymore. Take care, be safe "Spin"
OMG ROTFL for real as a fellow farm kid I can relate to all these stories! ZACH we need podcast strictly about childhood farm stories this whole podcast was to good 😂🤣
Check out the whole podcast wherever you get your podcasts titled SUE MAKES A MEAN HOT DISH
Oh man! You hooked me good with that excerpt of Off the Husk. Now I have to go subscribe... didn't see that coming!
The best to you and your family ❤️👍🏻 Really nicely done vlogs👍🏻
Not farm related, but I once owned a GSD. Anna looks positively muddy. Can always tell when they're out having fun, the not so fun part is cleaning all the muck out of their double-coat of fur lol.
The rest of the cannonball story is hilarious!!! I have so much fun listening to the Off The Husk podcasts. Looking forward to Canadian Becky posting a new one soon!!!
Hey dude, I’m just a Florida boy with a lot of farming family in Indiana and I love asking them some technical questions when I visit so I love the nerding out with the specifics when you get the chance lol. Keep it up man I’m loving this channel big time
i appreciate the more frequent videos; since i "get" to stay home all the time, it's nice to see your videos. Thanks!
"Are you alright?" Still makes me laugh.... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That was one of the best stories I've heard in a while very happy I followed the link and watched the rest of it.. absolutely CRAZY
That was a seriously crazy story about the cannon ball! And "Sue Makes A Mean Hot Dish" is one of the funniest podcast episodes I've ever listened to! I can't wait for the next Off The Husk!
Off The Husk Podcast; Episode "Sue Makes a MEAN HOTDISH" .The rest of the story starts @ 1:10:47. You're Welcome.
Great video...good to see "holy buckets" Jim! Thanks for posting and enjoyed the new "off the husk" featuring the pig farmer and you with Mitchell Hora on Field Work! You are an entire broadcast network embodied in one man! Thanks for all you do to entertain and inform.
Went to the podcast and listened. Was not dissapointed.
Congratulations for four years on RUclips 🎉🎂🎊
Podcast is finally bookmarked!!! 💣Listened to the whole episode, Zach you were right before you mentioned having Randy and his brother on I could listen for hours I bet🤣🤣 Now that I have found it and have PLENTY of time I'll listen to more of them😎👍 〽️
ps: thanks for visiting the NY Farm Girls awhile back Claudia and Evelyn are doing a good job on their channel and they are fun to watch🐄
My youngest is 28. I would love to have those little days back!
Nice to see your spring operation. All kinds of stuff needs attention before the real work begins.
Lol that cannon ball was gold.
Hey Zack, I love the idea of an episode of Off the Husk after each video- I always forget to listen to them. Thanks for the video.
Btw Zach, this story is quite familiar to an experience when i was little. We found a really big metal "sugarbeet" in the garden while rototilling. We dug it up. Called the police, they didn't take us seriously. So we brought it in. Put it on the counter, and suddenly the entire bureau was flying off their chairs. Apparently it was a grenade from WW2. They blew it up on a bomb squad base the same day. Apparently it could have gotten off with a slight impact. Well, the shearbolt in the rototiller said otherwise😂
🤣🤣🤣 that's an awesome story!!
@@MillennialFarmer it was an interesting day to say the least!
My brother diffused cannon balls frequently when he was stationed in Beaufort SC. He was EOD for USMC.
Great video Zach! Hopefully virus goes away and everything gets back to normal and get some farming done.
Growing up on the south west coast of Scotland we quite often got ordinance washed up on the shore-line as for the last half of the 20th century they scuttled lots of ships and pushed lots of "things" off the decks of aircraft carriers, phosphorous is not pleasant after many decades under the sea.
Well your story intrigued me enough to check out the podcast...and now I'm hooked! Cant wait for more episodes!
I think you young farmers are getting a chance to spend more time with your kids. I guess that is a good thing about the quarantine.
Thank you for sharing! here is a tip for you, the best and cheapest penetrating oil is using 1 quart of SYNTHETIIC (not regular) transmission oil, mixed with 1/1 or 50/50 with acetone. It works better than Kroil. I am not sponsored but know what works for me! I believe it will work for you.
Scott something else that you might want to do with your generator when you run it is to put electric load on it to keep electric side working correctly. John Mangas
Best podcast episode ever!!
Hi , I going to thank you for the help in the food chain. Keep up the good work. Spring is here soon thx again
You’re a good dad. Thank you for sharing with us!
Can't wait for the end of the cannonball story. Almost 450k subscribers......yeah!!!!!
link.chtbl.com/i0RmzU9h
She is so cute going to be a good farmer in a few years❤️😘🙏
Finally all new Episodes of Off the Husk are on Spotify🙏
Might I make a suggestion......
There are mini battery chargers called Battery tenders...I put them on my trucks and equipment
When they dont get used alot ya just plug them in a day before and ya got noo problems starting.
They are small...size of a old Nokia flip cellphone!
You can bolt them to the battery for permanently mounting them and they have mounting holes in the body so it can get screwed to battery box.
It's a worthwhile investment!!!!
Yesterday i was thinking about starting in the fields,, today we got 2 inches of snow and still comming. Murphy was listening
Great awesome video, stay safe out there
No I'm not alright!!! Damn that hurt!! That rhino liner is really hard!!! Lol I listen to your podcast every week and this one about the cannon ball and clay ball had me rolling!!! Lol and the go cart spark plug!! Hahaha
I’ve been at home, in quarantine, looking at the days on my mn mf calendar go by, but the photos on it make me feel better😁
Stay safe & healthy! Farm on & Thank You!👍🇺🇸
Glad to see the snow is melting for you!!
I just went and listened to this episode of Off The Husk and between the Clay and Cannonball stories I’m dying 😂
Hey Josh mabey get some item 4 gravel dump in driveway and mix some Portland cement in pile mix with skid steer spread around maybe it will help with sloppy
Hi Mate...🇦🇺
Great video, thanks for sharing..👍
Great to see your kids enjoy time in the shop with you...
When red paint is chalky... It's time to change the colour to green...😁😂
P.S. I really like that thunder trailer...😎
That cannonball story, WOW! I had a cast ball like that when I was a kid only it had a hole in it. I never knew what it was so I am wondering if that was cannonball also. I have no clue whatever happened to it. It wasn't that big though, more like about a 3-4" ball. Now I wish I had that now.
Great ending! Now I'm subscribed to the podcast!
Gotta love the sound of an N14 cold start, R.....R....R.. R...R..R..RRRRRRVARRROOOOM!
just saw a micro cam ad, good job, glad to see they choose you, keep up the great work
That fuel trailer looks like it's a great new equipment for your farm.
Hey Zach! At 0:22 You have almost said the lithuanian word šlapia (shlapia). In english it means wet. First half of the word was very nice lithuanian accent. Cheers from Lithuania!
Lol I under estimated the sneakiness!! Well played! Great story
That cannonball story cracked me the hell up when i heard it :p
It's a crazy one!
Loved that episode! You need to have Randy and brothers on more!
Kristoffer Jensen I was in the tractor when I was listening to that, I had to stop what I was doing for a minute before I messed up I was laughing so hard!!
Well I know what I'm listening to in the truck on monday!
I was homeschooled and look at me now, I'm smart enough to watch this video :)
Hey Zack my boy was homeschooled..there is always something to learn on a farm.
Need to ship yall some good limestone road base from south texas up there to take care of that slop!!!
Nicely played, Becky, nicely played. Now I have to subscribe. You Turkey!
But, I must say, y'all put together a fine video. Good transistions, music, even the actor does does a pretty good job playing the millennial farmer.
You must finish the bomb squad story! WHAT A TEASER
Check out the podcast!
Quick edit at 4:04, "It's still sloppy out here", should be "It's still SCHLOPPY out here".
Thank you for all the videos, love the channel.
Зак привет! У нас 2.00 ночи и я тебя смотрю. Казахстан. У дочки даже на шапочке трактор изображён 🤗
You all remind me of Bob and Doug McKenzie brothers. classic!
I'm glad it's not cold where I farm
I was laughing that whole episode when I heard it. That was by far the best episode so far.
What a gut buster story! Haha!
YOU CANT DO THAT WITH THOSE CLIFFHANGERS.... oh wait, downloading....
A quarter of the way through your video I was rudely interrupted by one of the BEST Ads online. The Dr.Squatch Soap advertisement pulled me in so deep that the "skip ad" button came up I continued watching for over 4 more minutes. Ok, now back to the scheduled Millennial programming. 😂
Great video
I listened to that podcast a few weeks ago while I was milking, and I was like those Nessman boys need their own podcast.
This is better then all 9800 channles of satellite TV I have.
This is why I own a Napa Auto Parts Store. Never have enough parts for the trucks on hand. At least I'm my own best customer. You almost need a parts store to run a farm.
Zac: "I ordered us a pizza!"
Zac:"I am getting the pizza!"
Zac: "Here is the pizza."
Jim: "Pizza?"
Thanks for keeping these vids coming. A welcome distraction from the craziness out there 👍🏻
Great to see the farm coming alive for spring. You will be in the fields before you know it. Hope its not to Slooopy for ya.
I think it’s the German accent they always sound like that. Love your pink truck That’s the only problem with red. Off the husk is a great podcast
Zach I need to hear the rest of this story and cannot find it. I live in Litchfield Maine, and just 2 months ago, I was an an auction in Gardiner Maine at the Lions Club and there was this exact canon ball being sold. All the old men were talking about it and wondering what it was - and what was with the odd brass plug in it. It ended up selling for I think $15. Your description of it was perfect - to a T. Now I need to hear the rest of the story and wonder if I should contact the auction company to follow up on where it was sold to.
Threw a couple ‘ope’s’ in there so we knew for sure you were from the Midwest. Smooth
Great video today always enjoy watching your video
That was priceless Zach thank you for sharing
LOL that was the best story :)
Congratulations for 450k subs! Great stuff!
Hit those trucks with turtle wax color back.... good stuff!
Wow those 3d tracks are so realistic
Fine, I'll watch your podcast jeez!
Was driving down here in Des Moines yesterday and saw a Thunder Creek trailer like yours. First I thought holy sh*t a Thunder Creek trailer. Second though was Thhhhuuuuunnnndddeeeerr....
Last time I was this early you were still jumping snowmobiles.
I saw the Power Services additives you have and I used to run them in my diesel truck. This past year I switched to Hot Shot's Secret, they have far better wear & corrosion protection for diesel fuel systems. Project Farm on RUclips did a review on several of the big name additive products, might be worth checking them out.
