Glad to see you on a dairy supporting the industry! Hopefully this will help shed some brighter light on dairy farmers and fight the negative stigma and rumors activists have been spreading! Great job Zach!
Very true, i'm always telling "citiots" that badly treated animals aren't good for business, besides the fact we have more time invested with the critturs than we do with our own family most times of the year.
@@piperdoug428 that's EXACTLY what's happend here. Housing Developments on top of a Dairy Farm....and it SMELLS?? Or it's polluting land.....well pavement don't shed water for damnit and here they creating more run off and the farm is the problem?
Hi Zach, thanks for traveling to New York State to show us a big dairy operation with the Hourigan family. I love the camaraderie with fellow farmers and they explain their operations. Love the cows mooing -- with all the mechanization -- they still cows - the animals we all love. I'll check out their dairy RUclips channel as you suggest. - Dean from Edina
Dairy farmers are some of the hardest working people you'll every meet. I work on several every summer doing fly control. God bless the dairy farmers!!
Upstate! Hourigans is a class act. Local guys that bust their humps every single day of the year to give us a great product. Used to call on these guys at my last job and always pleasant and positive even when milk prices have them running at a deficit.
I live in Massachusetts and I’m not a farmer but I really enjoy your RUclips videos. In fact lately I probably watch them more than any other RUclips channel. I’ve learned a lot about farming just from your videos. You keep them interesting, somewhat comical, and real. You have the farming education, experience, and personality to make it fun to watch. Thanks for that.
Thanks for sharing and educating us city folks. That’s a really nice looking farm with great people. Helps us appreciate what we take for granted when we pick up that gallon of milk at the market.
Being from Wisconsin (the dairy state) I appreciate the work that this farm family does to help provide a product we all love and enjoy. Thanks for that awesome tour of that great big farm.
Holy crap. 240 in a tie stall... we used to do 60-70 in a 48 tie stall in Michigan and that was a pain in the ###. Hats off to ya guys, heck of an operation you have going there.
Good video Zach! I enjoy watching Andy and what all he’s got going on all the time at the dairy. Andy can do anything and everything! Thanks for sharing!
I have been watching Andy’s you tube channel shorty after he started to do it he has some awesome videos and content. So glad to see you stopped by his place.
Good job Zack and thanx for sharing Andy's (FF&F)channel. As a city kid, its interesting to see that, no matter what kind of farm it is, you all work as hard as I have ever seen and you all care so much about what your farm needs and grows (veg, meat, dairy). God bless you one and all.
I have a friend that is a retired dairy farmer in Kentucky. He had to sell his herd and the parlor about three years ago due to health reasons. Dairying is a tough life. It nearly killed him to have to sell out but he has discovered there is a life out there if you are tied down to the girls 24/7.
Great video Zach, as much as I like following you both on your channels, I really love when you're together with Andy and other farmers, thanks to you Andy
You are doing such a fantastic job getting the image out on how farms work, being plant farming or animal farming/ranching. Getting out in other parts of the country to see how others do things is also interesting. Thanks for the hard work making these videos for us. I have no ties to farming but always enjoyed watching, reading about it. In high school I was in FFA and raised a few pigs. Great times!
Hello Zack, too cool to see you in my neighbor hood! I live 10 miles east on rt 20 from the Hourigan Farm. When you said you were going to the Moon Dance and pulled in there i had to laugh, i knew right where u were! I haul Milk from a big farm Called "LINCOLN" over near Auburn. Its great to see you venture away from your state too ours! really like your videos. I'm now watching Andys Channel! Thx Hutch
Great video. Andy has been saying that he was going to let you post first and then he would post his take on the visit. See he was only about 5 minutes behind you posting. Good to hear from you again!
Andy's channel is very good! He has lots of hands both family and hired, and the more folks you have touching things the more things get broke. But Andy takes it all in stride. I'm sure sometimes he's wondering HTH did this get broke but he never shows his frustrations. To the contrary, I see him with his kids and wish I could have had a relationship with my father like that when I was a kid!
Hey Zach...I'm glad you stopped by Andy's farm...I've been subscribed to him for a while..he has great content....hope your exposure helps him get subscribers...he deserves them
I live about 45 minutes from there farm and worked on my family's dairy as a kid.. I'm so glad that your showing people there's more to NY then just a city. I drive over the road now, and when ask where I live I always say I'm an old dairy farmer from NY.. gets them thinking
Two different kinds of operations coming together here really cool video , I hope it gets Andy some more acclaim he's as here a working knowledge farmer as there is on the internet and deserves some more recognition !!! Somehow Zach actually looked pretty comfortable feeding those heifers , not to sure how he'd feel about it at 4AM for the 31fst day in a row though !!!
Fantastic! 3F’s are one of my favourite channels,,, Andy is a very smart , getter done guy. I hope this helps him get more subscribers,,, he deserves them!
Hello from North Carolina/in the Field today cutting hedge rows! Probably one of the nicest dairy farms I’ve seen! Love the work man keep it up!! Oh yea love to listen to the podcast while working, it’s awesome good times good people!!
Two great farmers and RUclipsrs in one place pretty awesome. Your presentation at the corn and soy bean meeting was great also. You are a excellent speaker.
Great to see the support you give and show all type of Farms. Next time stop down in South Central PA., See working farms & take in some Sprint Car Racing.
Great video! I live about an hour and a half north of this farm "as the crow flies" 😂. We upstate New Yorkers grow corn too just for a different reason cows sure do eat alot!
Sorry I couldn’t get to see you. I’m North of Syracuse. I knew you were coming but was out of town. I’m familiar with Hourigan’s Farm. Thanks for coming to Upstate. 👍
Super cool to meet up with Andy. Love his channel as well. If you really wanted to roll coal, then should have hopped on Andy's sweet 4620, then you would have rolled coal!! Great video guys!!.
Thought forsure you fellas woulda had a few PBR's, and i wish it was longer but nuther good vid. Zach. Andy's a one man band with a great family and crew!
Zach, thanks for showing another side of agriculture! If it is possible hopefully you could visit one in Texas. One is owned by the Faria Family they have two like this one between Etter and Dalhart, Texas GPS location 36.036038 -102.086454 covering 2 1/2 square miles + many sections for forage production and manure disposal covering over 40,000 acres. The cows actually train themselves to milk with robots when they are ready. This part of US started expanding dairy just over 10 years ago to now one of the largest producers in US. I doubt there is a dairy with less than 5,000 cows.
I follow Andy’s channel. That have quite an operation. I’m at the tip of the eastern panhandle of WV. Mercer View Farms has a 1500 cow dairy about 45 minutes from here in Millwood Va and another about an hour north in Mercersburg PA. Also Kreider Farms in Mannheim PA has a huge dairy and their own milk processing plant. They also have laying chickens at 4 locations. Not sure of the number of birds but in the millions
Great to see some love for the upstate farmers. Been pushing The Empire Farm Show organizers to get some RUclipsrs and farmers business network to the show this year.
I’m only half an hour away I would of loved to meet you ZJ!!!!!weve actually been To Andy’s when he was selling a piece of equipment. Gorgeous farm. Very nice guy
