Thanks for the great info. I've been struggling with my 8600 and I believe your video has addressed my problem. I had the light at 18 inches from the canopy vs your suggested 27". Since changing that I've seen better growth and greener leaves. I fully expect that little tip is going to make a big difference. Best regards!
Awesome video man. Thank you for making this. I'm stoked to be using this light. This gives great insight on how to hang it. I use this in a 4x4 tent. Cheers. :)
Thank you! It is a lot of light for a 4x4. I should have tested that. Curious how much power you are running it at and what height above plants. I still have it but I have to send it out to the winner soon! Grower Love!!
@@DrMJCoco I've been using it at 80%, which by your chart is actually around 100% power. It is 25" from the canopy. Lucky for me, I do a quick veg and that keeps the plants short. Your tip for hanging height was invaluable. I'm not using any CO2 in my tent.
Dj Coco, you sound like Mr. Rodgers on your produced videos, but live you sound like Henry Rollins or something, had to look to make sure it was you! Thank you for your passion, knowledge, and ability to spit out the deets like a Gatling Gun. 👏
Initially, I was scared to death about the height issue But... I have my g8600 in a short 4x4 at just under 80% with beautiful top colas 3-5" from the bars. Not one singed hair or tacoing leaf. With any of my other Spider Farmer or Mars lights. They'd be toast! Also, I had to double my feeding program with this light. Spider farmer recommended an 8-inch hanging height with mine.
Will you be testing the new Mars FC-1000W? I just ordered one to run at about 600W in a 5x5. Would love to see you test one and see what numbers it pulls.
This SF G8600 vs Mars FCE-8000 is the likely choice for my 2nd 5X5. Running an FC-E8000 in my primary tent now and like it, but the pricing here is better. May turn out to be a matter of Mars can adjust bar positions.
I use this light, I also have a discount code you can use to save on it if you want :) Excited to see what your findings are. Thank you for covering this light.
Not when they burn out. Do research on how well their customer service is not. And then you will see how the products are not reliable to say the least. Good luck
If you ran this in a 4x4 @ 80% or so at maybe 19 inches you'd have amazing coverage. This light is geared for 5x5 but at the price point you could justify buying it for a 4x4 and you'd constantly be running is below max output so you'd probably extend the life of it.
Yes, I tested it at about 70% at 16" in a 4x4. If you raised it higher you could turn up the dimmer and get a higher usable PPF and better densities in the corners without raising the center PPFD. 80% at 19" would be safe. Grower Love
Hey man I've watched your reviews on medic grow, and my buddy just spent 400 on one and they took his money and canceled his order. They are un contact able, was wondering if you had any contacts with the company. Thanks
Certainly I will help if you have an issue with any company that I work with. Please send me a message using the contact page on our website. We will get the issue resolved no problem.

I only just watched it but for cost it could be my next light thanks❤
Thanks for the great review. I love that you show what happens to light spread when you dim and lower a light.
Oh yeah! It’s time folks!
I’ll take two! 👍

Awesome review, thanks.
Thanks from sharing 28” is perfect hanging height for a 5x5 tent, this light would be killer in a 4x4 tent dim to 60%
Lights are getting cheaper
I love this light!
Just saved me 60 beans, appreciated.
Thank Doc!
Let's see three SP-3000's in a 5x5!
nice!

Will do! The New Photontek X1000 is on the way. I will try to do it this month or early May. I previously tested the XT 1000 CO2. Grower Love
Doc, do you think this one G6500 is better than the $700 Fohse Aeries 650 ? Thinking about getting one of these two.
Hi how do I get into the giveaway? I can’t wait to see the review
Show up to the live premiere! The Giveaway takes place in the live chat. You just have to guess a number, but must be present to win! Grower Love
G8600 or FC-E8000 ? Which do you prefer?
G8600 2968pcs LEDs, FC-E8000 3928pcs LEDs running at lower power is more efficient and will have longer life span.
@@mrnice752 Good call, thanks!
Do you get to keep all these lights or do you have to send them back
They keep them ,Shane from migro has a sale every year to sell all lights he tests ,that is there bonus .
bro why didn't you put it in a 4x4? was looking forward to that hahaha
I probably should have. I am sorry! It felt like a whole lot of light to run in a 4x4! But I am sure it could have produced great results
What about with the se7000 vs fc 6500 wich one is better rn?
They are the same company and there lights are the same.
Mars hydro is a better deal since their fce bridgelux light has 2900 plus diodes for the same price.
Diode count is not very relevant with different diodes. Some diodes are made to handle more power with different tech and packages.
Not when they burn out. Do research on how well their customer service is not. And then you will see how the products are not reliable to say the least. Good luck
