  • The 2009 125i Was Having ABS & Traction control Issues, with the Fault Code 5DC1 Stored The ABS rings look favourite.
    The easy fix is to space the abs sensor with a small washer less than 1mm thick.

    Awesome video. Have the same on my e82 125i but the ring didn't solve it. Code was gone for a short while, say 15 minutes of driving back from my mate. So me and my mate suspect faulty sensor by being to late. This helps a lot in what to do next, so thanks!

    Was driving my car this weekend and it decided to throw the standard abs ring codes 😂 I used a .83 washer as a spacer and took it for a drive last night, no more codes which I'm happy about as I'm off to the Nurburgring this weekend. Worse case scenario is I won't have any driving aids or cruise control 😂 thank you for the video, really easy to understand

    Good idea with the spacer. On my 1 series (E87) and the E90 of my parents (sold since I fixed it) I replaced the worn sensors with new ones and just didn't thread the screw all the way so the sensor still was out by 1-2mm. "Fixed" it without having to replace the ring or drive shafts. I like your idea better with putting in a spacer, that way you can't tighten the screw too much by accident

    Hi, mate.
    I've been watching all of your videos, and they were very helpful. Especially about City bug, as I have had one. Now I have a Corsa d 2011 ecoflex 1l petrol (39k on clock) , and it had problem with timing chain, after the replacemenet car started and has engine light on. I've diagnosted and the code appeared to be crankshaft sensor. Sensor got replaced, yet the light is still on. I was advised that I need to check timing chain alignment, because the car had no power and engine was shaking. I bought timing chain alignment tool to adjust, and i tried to fix it. First time the car was still running, but no change. After that I tried to align several times, but my tool isn't accurate with my car. Car isn't starting now at all. The smell of petrol is coming from spark plugs, I've check them and they were full of the fuel. I cleaned them, tested them, return back, but car isn't starting at all.
    Do you have any advise what and where to look to just make this car to start, even if it has engine light on dashboard still on?
    Thx

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  Год назад

      Sounds like the timing is the issue, why did the chain need replacing after 39000 miles is there an underlying issue with the engine, ie oil pressure chain tensioner issue Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

    • @vorenamaricic9522
      @vorenamaricic9522 Год назад

      I was advised by others to change the chain as the car was a non-starter when bought. I'll look up by your advice further on, and let you know the outcome.
      Thx!

    My 320d had 5DC2. Tried 1mm washer and that changed to codes 5DC1, 5DC2, 5DC3 & 5DC4! So presumed washer too thick, replaced with a 0.3mm one and cleared the codes, will do a test drive in morning and see whats what. Possibly time to for a new sensor and install it with a washer from the beginning as currently one looks v worn down.

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yes if the end of the sensor has been worn down too far the sensor is scrap, try a new sensor with a wafer thin washer should work for a few years, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

    Hi i seem to be having this same problem with an 2011 E90 . Can i ask does spacing the sensor stop the ABS working? would you not ust replace the sensor. I've just disconnected and resetted the ABS ECU see if that does anything.

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  Год назад +1

      No the abs works fine, the washer needs to be less than .7mm this just allows for the swelled ABS ring, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
