i'm a 34 year old guy, skated a few years around the ages 13-16. i purchased a board again last year but really haven't gone out and rode a lot, lack the confidence and feel a bit self conscious. wish i could shake the feeling and just rip, i'd do it every day if i could manage it. your videos inspire me
it's really tough in the beginning. There were so many times where I would pull up to the skatepark, see someone and drive home. But, the more you skate out and about, the easier it gets! The less self conscious you get--a bit like exposure therapy I guess haha😂 so good luck! And welcome back to skateboarding 🙌
Same situation as you, same ages, I dropped my first "big bowl" today after 2 month of training, checking Sarah's channel ofcourse but also watching many many skateboard videos just to inspire me and make me dream. If you can dream of it, you will be able to take that back again!
Another stellar video, Sarah. Two suggestions. When jumping, think about jumping like a frog. One foot starts and the other follows. That lead time from the front foot allows the board to rise. Try extending that time. Then snap your knees up under you, like a frog. I try to raise my torso less and pull my knees to my chest. Second is cycling gloves. I have no idea how people skate without hand protection. And I appreciate the tip on a closer stance. I just recently realized it is key to jumping tricks and I suck at it. So today's skate is working a closer stance. Regular and goofy, of course. 12:05
ah thank you! I love talking about the whole process, which is kind of making this particular challenge fun. Since it's a little more "live." Glad you like the channel though😃 and some of the more aesthetic shots I've been experimenting with haha 😂
Hey there, I'm a freestyle sk8er, i have some crazy (3foot high) 360 boneless variations to show you that take no more than a week to learn. I also have a 180 boneless to late body verial to Later hand flip. Let me know as i have 21 years experience freestyle and happy to let people know these HACKS.
Good job on the airwalk! 🔥 That trick is not easy. Also thanks for the list in 1:57, i might give one of these a go. Or maybe I'll try the airwalk, i can't do them 😂
thanks Azzam! I'm digging this trick so much 😭 Might even try to take it off of a few things haha A is actually a pretty tough letter to choose from. B is WAY easier lol
Does it make me an a-hole if, having dug trenches and slung wrenches since I was 12, I laugh when skaters complain about tricks being tough on the hands😂
I never even considered that option 😂 but it makes total sense. I just naturally wanted to kick out my front leg haha Not sure why I didn't think of that! Probably would have been easier.

31 here, just picked up my board after two years leaving it at a friend;. The wood is dry. but eager to go!

i was having a depressing slump of a day. 3 mins in and im off to go skate. cheers for the kick up the ass !
ayy hope you had a fun session 💪
This channel is so awesome, I appreciate how vulnerable and honest you are about the learning process! Also all your camera angles so photogenic lol

These look so nice!!
ah! Thank you Jack 😃
reminds me of snowboarding grabs-you bring the board up by bending your knees rather than bending over to reach the board with your hands
Great choice
Graz! Looks dope :)
Amazing!! That makes me want to give it a go as well!! Keep on shredding! ♥️
if you do, good luck! It's a tough one, but does get better 😃

Holaaaa ☆.☆, saludos desde Mexico nuevamente :3
very nice choice.
I’m so bad at catching my board with my hand 🤣✌️
What’s the trick at 3:50 called?
that's called a smoothie 😃 it's a freestyle footwork trick
so cool ^__^

Yes.
Awesome video! I kick my front foot back and back foot forward. I find it gives you more room to grab. Everyone has their preference. 🛹

@@SarahParkMatott @LordBane66 : That would be the ollie Scarewalk, not Airwalk 🙂
😤i always put airwalks into the "only in thps" category, pretty sick to see someone figuring them out, kudos 🛹
haha "only in thps" is such a mood 😂 but those are probably my favorite tricks to try
