Yes! I've been doing these for a year and a half consistently. And it took months to get anything even close to what I wanted! Takes lots of time but is so worth it 💪
Absolut exactly what i needed. Im practicing backside kickturn since two weeks and other turns will follow. When i see this i know i make too much affort with the swing and unweigting. You do it so lightweight and affortless, awesome. I know you did a lot of practice for that, but the result makes me speechless. This Monsterwalk is what i have to practice! Thank you very much. I love you and your videos
Great tips and such a nice soft spoken voice :) I've been getting back into skating and wanted to take it slow, step by step instead of getting straight into jumping/flipping tricks so looking around on youtube for freestyle moves has been very nice. It's really the style that's always been most appealing to me :)
Nice tips! I've used your pockets rip from a prior video to get better at these! Recently I realized that you can stick heels in the pocket instead of the balls of my feet. This way I can ride loose trucks and use opposing pressure to pop more instead of dragging the wheels. Another benefit from this is that since my trucks are loose I won't pitch forward because the pressure is heelside. I also discovered that this allows you to flick the forward-moving-foot gently at the lip of the concave to push it forward in case you want to unweight the foot more to get over chunkier cracks 😁
yes!! 💯 mastering those pockets and really understanding them just opens up endless doors to use the skill and board science to your advantage. Stoked that was able to help 💪
Definitely going to try this, I feel like it would help me get more confident with riding and turning on switch as I always seem to struggle with turning on regular footing
Thank you! I think I haven't been consciously on the balls of my feet. Definitely not on my heels when going backwards. I'm really excited to get to the endover.
I watched the revert video but feet position wasn’t the pockets - could you clarify if you can please? Thank you so much for your videos they’re so helpful
I have a picture in this video ruclips.net/video/dWnq3iKUjv8/видео.html which circles the pockets on the board. I put the balls of my feet in or near the pockets on the toe-side edge of the board for monsterwalks. So my feet rest kind of in the middle of the small dip. They're between the flat of the deck and upturn of the nose and tail. If I put my feet in the center of the nose and tail (like the position for a pop shove it or ollie), then I lose a lot of control. And thanks for the note! I'll try to be clearer when I update this tutorial in the future.
Hey, love your vid. Do you have any tips on ollieing stairs? I ollied off curbs but never stairs and I've already been skating for over a year and I just couldn't commit to the 3 stair today. My brain just blocked
I've never tried to ollie stairs either. But, If I was going to start trying, I would probably first try to increase the speed I am comfortable with ollie-ing down curbs and then try and get other tricks off the 3 stair first. Like just jumping down it, then the caveman and then boneless. I would try to make myself really comfortable dropping like that before trying to ollie. And might even just try baby ollies off it first. Just tapping the tail and rocketing off a few times before going for a proper one. That's how I'd start to approach it at least 😃
How tight do you have your trucks? I'm not sure if mine are too loose or I just have bad balance/ centre of gravity. I find by default the board is constantly sinking into my heel side.
My freestyle trucks are pretty tight. I think that tighter trucks can help with wheel bite. But, if you're sinking into the heelside, I'd give leaning forward/actively pushing into the balls of your feet a go! That might help 💪
it was a 7.6 bixby complete from waltz skateboarding, but they don't have it anymore. Their closest board now is probably the Yuta Fujii pro model at 7.75.

I'm enjoying footwork and this kind of freestyle tricks since I found your channel. Monsterwalks are the next thing I'm going to practice. Thank you!
happy to hear it 💪Footwork is the best! Way too under-rated!

I have been including those in my warm up for a long time , now I know what they're called and how to improve them . thank you.
Dang you make these look super cool, realizing I’ve been doing them all wrong! Awesome progression!
They are super cool 😎
definetly gonna try this. so i can get more comftable with turning around with the board
They've been my biggest secret to board control. Monster walks + endovers in every warm up 💪
I didn’t think about it until you mentioned it but I’m much too upright while trying. Thanks for helping me realize it 👍👍
When I do these, you'd swear I was in the middle of falling lol
hahahaha 😂 that hits home pretty hard

Think I am gonna give these a try. been looking for something to switch it up and approach reverts, riding switch, etc
Yes! These are great for that 🙌
really cool!
Definitely going to try this, I feel like it would help me get more confident with riding and turning on switch as I always seem to struggle with turning on regular footing
I think it's a beautiful trick
In my yesterday's skate session I didn't practice it. Thanks to remind us!!
Thank you! I think I haven't been consciously on the balls of my feet. Definitely not on my heels when going backwards. I'm really excited to get to the endover.
Oh the endover is the perfect pair to monster walks! You got them 💪

what setup you are using here?

I never knew that is called a monster walk.
I still get caught up on speed doing these, gotta work on my rhythm more.
Seriously! The rhythm really makes it 💪
为什么你的声音这么好听!
