Life saver! Thank you for actually telling me how many inches your waist is, how long you wanted your skirt to hang, and how many strips it took you to make your tutu!! I'm going to be making my first one in a few days for my birthday coming up and have been researching so many sites to figure out how much is need to buy for all my materials since I'm budgeting. NO ONE BESIDES YOU face me these details that I was looking for!!!! Subscribed now!! You're the best! Xoxo
Jamie! I know this video was made 7 years ago I am just now finding it and can't wait to show you the final piece. This is going to be PERFECT for a group Alice in Wonderland costume for a ClueUp event I'm going to in October! I can't wait!
You asked what type of tulle skirt "I" made. I am making a two-color pink one and wearing it with an ivory blouse for my wedding! Thank you for making it so easy!
Love ya Jamie I'll deffently be trying this and just a tip for all of ya who are going to use elastic for a waste band. When you put the tule on it will stretch the elastic out so I would sujestion taking off an inch or two just to allow it to stretch and still fit you without it falling down. Your awesome Jamie
when u had the all green skirt with your purple shirt and red hair i thought that u looked like ariel then u said u might go as ariel i was like OH MY GOD!!! MIND READER!!!
I really like your method. I need to make a tutu to use under a full circle skirt so I want the "ends or hem" to be the same all around. Should I make it longer than the skirt and then trim it off when completely finished making the tutu?? Thanks Linda
So glad I found your video! I’ve been looking for a red tulle shirt for a cosplay and trying to find an affordable one in my size if just so hectic. The affordable ones are always a few inches too tight. Can’t wait to get started on my cosplay!! Thank you ^_^
what a cute skirt. I have made my own tutu for my daughter before but after she wears it it becomes very messy and tangled? Is there a specific tulle I should be using? I just got mine at Michale's.
at my school we have crazy blue and gold days. So me and my friends all got together and we all made our own skirts. they looked amazing and everyone kept asking where we bought them and then we said that we made them and everyone was amazed! thanks.
ahhhh thank you thank you thank you!!!! i plan on making my own halloween costume this year and a tulle skirt will be perfect but didnt know how easy it was to make till now. thank you!!!!!
You are a life savior... my daughter decided to dress up as Jane volturis for Halloween and the dress came up a bit too short and too large on the waist for her... we are making her a long black skirt to use underneath... it will add some fullness on the waist and some length on the bottom! For me nothing screams Halloween more than a black tulle skirt hahaha
Seeing this channel is bringing back the nostalgia.. I watched this channel so much. Anyway, I'm making a white, uneven one that's a bit longer that has stains, fake blood, and burns in it. I work at a haunted attraction and I decided to try and make my own costume this season! Wish me luck!
All my friends and I are going as fairies and I am in charge of skirts, wings, make up and hair! This is a life saver! I needed something for skirts and this is perfect! Hopefully I can find a sale on tulle though! I am going with 6 other girls!
Love this! I am running a Holiday themed 5k in a few weeks and they encourage dressing up. I am going to attempt this with red/green tulle and see what I can do! Thanks for posting.
You're seriously my hero!! I've searched for a wedding or prom dress with in budget and have been reduced to creating my own costume! I'm going to a "Zombie Prom" and am going as Emily from Tim Burton's Corpse Bride, I was scared because I'm not very creative and you just saved my life!! 😁😁😁
this tutuorial is awesome! best one I've seen and I've watched half a dozen. Your look as is would be cute a little mermaid costume! I'm gonna use this to make a princess tiana tutu.
This helped me a LOT! I needed to make an underskirt with a bit of volume so I thought of tulle, but I'm not too good at sewing so this was super helpful
Hey Jamie! So if you need an idea for an other project, I want to make a quilt pillow out of tee shirts. I'm not really sure how to do it. I was wondering if maybe you could make a video on it:)
Omg thank u so much I have been looking everywhere for a tulle skirting certain colours for a dance performance and I never thought about this great video
I'm making a barbie swan lake cosplay for a friend and the skirt is driving me insane! I'm going to do this (but a lot of layers) and then do a shimmer tulle overlay.
My 4 year old son Jack is going as Jack Skellington, my husband as Oogie Boogie, and my favorite character is Zero the dog. So thank you for this video. I live overseas currently and it’s hard when there’s no Michaels/Joann’s/Walmart to just easily go to…so thank you for your straightforward, easy to understand, funny video! Btw you legit look like Ariel!
Hiiii! Have you ever made one that is multiple layers? kinda stacked I guess is what I am asking. Trying to make a fairy tutu for a game con...I want it to be almost floor length but I want different layers in it... and I love how you explain in such detail. I know this video is really old so I hope you see this!! TIA!
Oh. My. GOD! I'm glad you made this. I cosplay as a hobby (If you couldn't tell by my name) and I'm working on Ruby Rose from RWBY and she has a red petticoat. This is SO helpful. When I vlog, I am gonna give you credit. Thank you SO much!
This no-sew technique will save me a lot of grief! I need the poofiness that only a tulle skirt can give me for an upcoming cosplay project. Thanks! :D
OH MY GOSH I AM SO GLAD I FOUND THIS. I had actually done something similar a few years ago, but I'm going as Anna this year for halloween. After realizing there is literally no Anna costumes for adults or teens (unless I want to pay $100+), I've kinda given up and decided to go as "fairy anna" instead (meaning: tutu, shirt, and wings in Anna's color scheme). I haven't been able to find a royal blue skirt ANYWHERE! (Okay, well, I did, but no one actually had it in stock...) So I'm super excited to do this!!
Omg this is so easy!!! I want to do a last minute pride rainbow 🌈 tulle skirt and was worried about time since it’s 2 days away! I’ll save so much time! 😭
NO! there is a special way to do Tule for ball gowns and it will make a huge difference on how the dress looks! I could explain it out but it is a lot, do a search for tule ball gown, I am sure some stuff will pop up. BUT basically you want something that layers the tule for the under coats and creates a seamless top layer. otherwise the waist will be too bulky.
I'm making a black one to put under a Fullmetal Alchemist cosplay I'm doing of a fem!Edward Elric. Might actually throw in some grey and silver tulle, too. Just little aesthetic things. This actually saved me. Much appreciated! xx Lumi

You saved my Halloween costume for this year! I needed a last minute no-sew tutu (I'm making mine shorter) and this is perfect! Bless your soul.

I am so grateful you gave specific directions on how to figure out measurements. This was SO helpful!
Your video made me smile, I like your humor. I made a Finding Dory tulle skirt recently and will be wearing it for an upcoming Disney Run!
great idea to use more tulle for the waistband!
Thank you for your videos, this one will be a great help. I'm a Christmas elf, at a toddler group this year. So it's green and red for me

I really like your method. I need to make a tutu to use under a full circle skirt so I want the "ends or hem" to be the same all around. Should I make it longer than the skirt and then trim it off when completely finished making the tutu?? Thanks Linda
Linda Scott yeah same question.

All my friends and I are going as fairies and I am in charge of skirts, wings, make up and hair! This is a life saver! I needed something for skirts and this is perfect! Hopefully I can find a sale on tulle though! I am going with 6 other girls!

I'm making a barbie swan lake cosplay for a friend and the skirt is driving me insane! I'm going to do this (but a lot of layers) and then do a shimmer tulle overlay.
Amazing skirt! I like the green and lilac version!

How many tiller fabric rolls you used ? For bigger waist 🤪
My 4 year old son Jack is going as Jack Skellington, my husband as Oogie Boogie, and my favorite character is Zero the dog. So thank you for this video. Hi there! Would want to ask if I sit down wearing this fab skirt, will my undergarments show? Lol. So so big dilemma.

Any recommendations for a dude tulle skirt for my wedding 2.22.22? I mean really, it’s totally appropriate to wear a tutu on 22222 day right?

She didn't specify but at the beginning she said she got the tulle at her "local craft store"
Probably Michaels.
You can get all kinds of tulle from Michaels as well as Hobby Lobby. (:

NO! there is a special way to do Tule for ball gowns and it will make a huge difference on how the dress looks!
I could explain it out but it is a lot, do a search for tule ball gown, I am sure some stuff will pop up. BUT basically you want something that layers the tule for the under coats and creates a seamless top layer. otherwise the waist will be too bulky.
