  • This removable ball skirt is just so versatile! Especially for a wedding dress! Gone are the days when you can only wear your wedding dress once! With a convertible dress you can re-wear your pieces AND you even end up with multiple looks in one dress/skirt! I absolutely love the fact that it is also good for the environment!! ^_^

    My Story:
    I'm an LA-based fashion designer. I've worked for Project Runway star/designer Michael Costello, as a Senior Designer/Project Manager for almost 6 years. I also partnered with him and Revolve on launching and creating the MichaelCostelloxREVOLVE collection for 2018 and 2019 and was responsible for producing mood/inspo boards, collaborating in all design aspects, create patterns and first samples, attending fittings, attend photo shoots, etc. Prior to our partnership with Revolve, I worked solely on Michael Costello Couture as Project Manager and played the lead role in planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing projects whilst ensuring each project is done on time and within budget. Trust me though, it's more fun than it sounds! lol And i'm here because Corona made me do it. And i've always really loved video editing. I thought this would be a great opportunity to mix the things i love.. designing, filming the process, and video editing. I now work freelance but mostly make wedding dresses for my own clients. So why not film as i go, right? and share what i know! Makes the whole process extra challenging yet exciting! tehee.. ^_^

    this was so helpful, thank you! it looked like 1 seam of each panel was on the selvage/straight grain, did you sew straight grain edges to bias edges, or straight to straight? does that affect the way it drapes?

    • @karla_roble
      @karla_roble  3 года назад

      Hello!! Yes! Great observation.. i drape it right on the bias so sew lines will be along the selvage (warp) on one and the weft on the other. As for the sewing, i try to sew the wefts together and then the warp. There will be one seam where you will have to sew a weft and warp together but the rest should be the aforementioned. Drape should be okay as long as you sew it carefully ☺️
