So gorgeous! Sadly I do understand that sewing will never be one of my talents and that’s ok! I still can admire the skill it takes to make such beautiful clothes!
Excellent tutorial. Is there a difference in fit, if the Waistband is cut on the bias? Thank you
@@adelaidanilo3362 Hello! Thank you for your kind words! And to be quite honest, cutting it on the bias might actually fit slightly better. ☺️ The fabric i’m using in the video has a bit if a stretch so it ended up being okay and since the tie just wraps around the waist it’s barely noticeable. Also another way to conserve some fabric ☺️
@@karla_roble True. Make sense. Thank you
Thank you for this video, just watched even it’s old. Super easy lesson, and you are very cute and funny
@@krisjol awww thank you so much! ☺️☺️
Wonderful! Now I need a party 🎉.
I know right? Perfect excuse for a celebration lol
Gorgeous! Get well soon! 💕
Thank youuuu! 🥰
I thought the knee surgery was a joke untill i saw the brace, lol. The dress looks amazing though!
Hahaha thank youuu!! Lol
Wow, absolutely wonderful, you are so talented, love your tutorials. Is it possible to buy the full pattern, please ? I'd definitely remake it.
Can you do a video cutting at a 90 degree angle to see your technique.
Wow amazing I’ve never seen that technique with plastic around the waist to make the gather.

lol his reaction
dreamy :D
I’m about to make this similar version dress for my niece’s prom 2025
Wow that’s beautiful!
So beautiful Karla ❤❤❤
Aww thank you so much! 🥰🥰
Blue Tiana?
Oh no! Get well soon Karla! Make sure you rest and look after your knee too 💕
Thank you Katy!!!! 🙏🏼😌❤️🩹
Magnificent
Stunning!
So beautiful! What kind of tulle did you use and where did you buy it?
@@DontFluffTheFairies thank you so much! It’s called english tulle.. got it in downtown LA at the fabric district ☺️
How many yards of fabric did you use and what width? Can you please tell how much yardage of horsehair was necessary for hem? Did you stitch the top of the horsehair also to the dress, or just the bottom?? And how was the waistband finished?
@@danetteperez3863 i believe at least 8 with 58” wide.. can’t remember how much horsehair, it really depends on how full you make it. Hehe
May i ask if a zipper was attached to the satin skirt back? I never saw if you added one or just concealed the opening with the tulle and ribbon hanging from laceup back??
I love this dress!! Btw, how did you hand stitch the tulle nearby the button loops?
*"Your such a great designer!!"*
Hi. Is it a rectangle with oval corners?
How do you tie it on your waist?
It looks like the live action Cinderella dress
Very beautiful and perfect
@@nupuranewaskar2779 thank you so much for your kind words!! 🥰
Hahah lol
Ughh so pretty!!!
Obsessed with the back!! ❤
❤
You’ve got skill
Thank youuuu! 🫶🥰
So beautiful! Out of interest, how do you undo the skirt enough to get into the dress? If it's just sewn onto the base of the corset it would be so narrow. Is there a hidden zipper or something?
Thank youuu! ☺️ yes there is a 10” opening at the center back of the skirt that you can add a zipper in ☺️
@@karla_roble Ah that satisfies my curiosity, thank you!
Speechless❤
Beautiful dress! What kind of tulle did you use?
Thank you so much!! Just a regular tulle with medium softness ☺️
Dreamy and beautiful
It’s giving modern interpretation of Tiana’s dress
beautiful work! :3 very pretty creation
Thank youuu! 🙈🥰
I'm just amazed at the skill she has and of course the dress turned out beautiful!
Honestly subscribed because you fell, said “gonna cut that” and then left it in. I love the sincerity 😊 great vibe and great informative video
Hahaha!! Awww thank youuuuu!! 🥰 Appreciate you so so much! 🫠💘
Last year I watched this video to make my swanlake dress as I didn't understand how to drape a skirt. This helped me so much. It has really helped me understand the construction of dresses. Thank you so much ❤
@@TulipxMariposa aww thank you!! 🥰 but omg how did your swan lake dress turn out? 🫢 genuinely curious!! And truly glad this video somewhat helped you at all. Appreciate you so much for taking your time to share such kind words! 🥰🥲
@@karla_roble it did. I studied costume at university. I just didn't understand construction. Having lockdown for majority of my uni years I had to rely on other sources, this video saved me. I shall post a video of my swan lake. It is my final major project. When I post it I will personally thank you. You will also see how your video helped the silhouette of my dress! <3
@@TulipxMariposa awww.. Yeah i was tutoring a fashion student during Covid too! It was just too much! Kudos to you for making it through that! Oof! That must’d been rough! And you’re doing so well so far! I truly love that for you! Its how this channel started too actually, trying to help spread some of the little knowledge i know out in to the world ☺️ and so are you now! 👏👏 Yay us! Haha
She just looks lovely! The dress really enhances her youthful beauty. 🦋🩵🦋 😊
The dress is beautiful and so is the graduate, congratulations, you look beautiful.
❤extremely ambitious, BUT, 🎯you DID IT❤
Haha yes, ambitious indeed.. didnmt think i’d finish in time tbh haha.. thank youuuuu! 🥰
Wow, that’s amazing. It’s so beautiful. You’re very talented.
The dress is SO beautiful and i learnt so much just from this one video, thank you!! Quick question, do you have a particular method to tie the ends and finish off with the invisible thread? I'm always worried my knots will eventually come undone.
Hi Katy! Thank you!!! And i’m glad you learn d something 🥰 that’s the ultimate goal hehe.. As for your question, i personally like to tack it a couple times and then do a couple knots at the end.. ☺️
Also.. initially made this video/short to answer your question except i’ve been so sleep deprived lately and i misread your comment and missed the “clear thread part” lol 🤦🏻♀️🥲😅 anywhooo.. i do the same thing when sewing with a clear thread so yeah.. lol oopsies! Might still be worth a minute of your time hehe 😜 ruclips.net/user/shortsdMWslDRk_Vs?si=MfqHTyS8TaxPo_Nf
@@karla_roble oh thank you so much for making a short to answer my question!! That is a beautifully shot video by the way (and dress!) and so helpful seeing you sew the applique on up close. I've seen other videos but it was difficult to see exactly what they were doing, so this was brilliant! Sewing with invisible thread in the past I made 2 or 3 fisherman's knots (spit and all 🙈😂) since I figured it's basically really tiny fishing line lol! But I guess time will tell whether it holds up or not. Thank you so much Karla!
currently budget making a horridly expensive dress and this shape is *almost* right... thank u☺️
Omg so so sorry for the late response.. life’s been nuts 😅.. How did your project go? I know how budget making expensive dresses can be such a task sometimes.. hehe
@@karla_roble So i dont (yet) have a Mannequin thingy (also expensive :() to drape the fabric onto. I'm getting one for christmas, so the project is on ice until then😔. I did Manage to finish the corset and the linen underskirt!!! And I've been doing smaller projects to actually learn how to use my machine (from the 70s, obvs)
@@karla_roble Update: I got the Mannequin early. currently gathering. annnd gathering... aaaaand gathering
