I love so very much how you have created this beautiful little girls fairy tutu/skirt - and what a blessing to not have to worry about inserting elastic into a waist band. I look forward to find any more of your excellent tutorials. Thank you so much.
Romy, I love your videos! I too have a little ballerina who is going to be thrilled with a tutu like this! Thank you for showing this quick method of adding fullness! Love it! ❤️
Exactly what I was looking for! I didn't know how to create the flowy full effect, in other tutorials I just found the base, but I wanted to create something really fluffy for Halloween. Also I love how minimalistic and slow the video feels.
I wanted to make a tulle gathered skirt and looked at various websites and videos, but they all looked complicated and difficult.I was surprised at how original and easy this method of making it is.I think it was thought up by a smart person.I'm going to try to make it now! Thank you so much.
I made these skirts for my daughters for Christmas. Instead of the ribbon I finished it with silver fold-over-elastic and it worked very well. Thank you for the tutorial.
Thank you for this well done thoughtful and informative tutorial, it’s just the information I need to make a beautiful skirt for my 7 year old grandaughter💕
Love your tutorial I'm going to make this for my daughter's birthday since she gets on jummper and ends up tearing all dresses this will be perfect with leggings under.
Yes it can indeed ! You will need to use zigzag stitches on a sewing machine, or a surger, this way you'll preserve the stretchiness of the T-shirt. Happy sewing !
Hello ! Sorry for this late reply... yes of course, that would be perfect. You just have to hem the organza at the bottom of the skirt. Let me know how it goes !
I love this! I plan to make one for my daughter with some donated tulle I just received, with a few modifications - I have a lot of tulle in those 6" strips that come on big rolls, so I'll be using those instead of panels, and I might just do a couple of layers of these instead of a tulle base, or I might make the base from another fabric which can double as a lining, we'll see. I think as well double-sided fusible interfacings (heat n bond or whatever) will do a good job of sealing up the join in the skirt at the end, I'll try that and report back!
Thank you. I'm going to use this tutorial to make my daughter the mal descendants costume. I hate spending money at party City and Amazon for cheapy costumes at fall apart and smell funny. She can wear this whenever she wants and we can put this in her dress-up box for later🎉🎉🎉🎉
It's difficult to say without seeing the fabric you'll use and it's measurements. It depends on how dense you want you gathers to be and how long you'll make your skirt. I'd say 10 meters is a minimum. Happy sewing 🧵🧵🪡
could you give the measurements in INCHES please. love how you made it but I am horrible in math. Did you just pick what length you wanted the tutu? and as for the width or waist is that based on the Childs waist?
You are right : you decide the length of the tutu and measure the waist size needed 😉 You can convert cms to inches online. Also instead of a 1cm seam allowance, you can use your regular seam allowance measurements. Happy sewing ! 🌷
Beautiful mums who love and care for their little girls that they have the patience to create such lovely projects. Bless your sweet heart! ❤
This is very kind, have a lovely day 🔆🌿
Very easy to follow. I particularly like the handkerchief pieces you hung around the base piece to give it fullness. Thanks so much!
My pleasure 🙏🌿

Simple and pretty. Can it be sewn to a tee shirt to make a dress? Would it need any alterations or additional steps?
Yes it can indeed ! You will need to use zigzag stitches on a sewing machine, or a surger, this way you'll preserve the stretchiness of the T-shirt. Happy sewing !
I'm a beginner and I was wondering if I could use organza instead of tulle for the base layer. Thanks!

How many matters or yards would you recommend for an adult size skirt?
Hello ! It depends how wide your fabric is and how long you want the skirt to be..
Wow so lovely.
Thank you 😊
Pls what’s the dimension of the piecied squares you later cut
It depends on the size of the tutu you want to make 🌿
Kindly tell me the dimensions you used for yours if you remember
Definitely making one

Absolutely adorable.....love this...new subscriber
Awww thank you 🙏 and welcome ! 🌸✂️
May I know what this technique is called?
I am afraid this is not an 'academic' technique. It is just gathering tulle by hand under the presser foot of the sewing machine 😊
Wonderful video!
Thank you 🙏🙏 did you make it ?
How much Meter would you recommend for a women's skirt? (Size 42) 10m? It should be maxi
It's difficult to say without seeing the fabric you'll use and it's measurements. It depends on how dense you want you gathers to be and how long you'll make your skirt. I'd say 10 meters is a minimum. Happy sewing 🧵🧵🪡
Super! Thanks!
With pleasure !
Thank you. She turns 3 this week and loves tutus so much she sleeps in them.
That's adorable 😍 I should create a pj's tutu 😉
Cuánto mide el rectángulo? El que hace picos?
It depends on your waist size 🔆 I suggest you keep gathering untill you get the right size. Happy sewing !
