uhm yeah im running yosemite and whenever i go to install it theres no timer and the bar wont move and will stay in one place only the place it stays in is like 3 quarters of the way. any way to fix this?

Not to sure if this is still open but I have a IMac 27 inch late 2013 and currently on MacOS Catalina and on Logic Pro 10.6.3 but it will not let me update to Logic Pro 10.7.7 for some reason . Is there a way to update it to the latest version on my IMac? Thank you for any help !
I looked at time machine, my drive isn’t popping up, it’s only popping with airport time capsule
When the installation is done it says restart to continue but it just restarts like normal

I'd like to do this without doing a clean reinstall but when I go to software update I don't get Bigsur. Anyone know why this could be? I'm using Catalina.

@@AnnFangio I've since found out that the Big Sur update isn't available for my mac because I have a 2012 model. So model age might be same reason you're unable to update past Yosemite. I'm just gonna keep Catalina. Works fine for now.
@@GoldenToothBrush YES!! I just realized all of this age thing makes a difference. I'm not a tech person so I had no idea. I had my 2009 MacBook Pro repaired to use as a back up and I cannot put Microsoft 365 on it. Which is a bummer because I'm having to send out my 2013 computer for an overhaul tomorrow.
I was going to purchase a new Mac, but was told my old one refurbished would actually be better and cost less, so, here we go. I guess I'm on a work vacation except for answering emails.
@@AnnFangio Do you need to send it to a pro? I just save my data to either an external device or Time Machine (haven't used yet) and then do a factory reset. Works like new after that.
@@GoldenToothBrush Unfortunately I had to send it out. It was to the point that I could no longer back up on Time Machine. I had to use a brand new external HDD and just drag and drop onto it because it wouldn't back up. BUT when I get it back it will be SO GOOD! 2TB of storage!

nothing will be removed, it's just in case if something goes wrong in the install (i think).

The Reason why cleaning your mac is because so big sur can run faster and not lag alot

Back in 2017 I had high sierra to it’s Max version downloaded then I had to upgrade it to mojave and every 3-4 months I have to update it then catalina came around. Fuck it I had to do it ! Upgraded to Catalina but they need more update inorder to optimise mac battery performance I see and for the love of god I did. YaY Big sur arrived ! What a blast from the past big sur was like 12.44 GB installation and i got a free update after 2 months which made me I mean really really happy. I am so fucking EXCITED I mean very VERRRRRY EXCITED about the next upgrade and FUCK U apple but I can still do it.

@@benjaminwoodman What version you are using. Click the apple left hand corner and go to "About this Mac" and next to version what numbers do you see

Maybe your macbook is not compatible for Big Sur.
Need help. I not understand It won’t download it. It say “there is not enough free space on the selected volume to upgrade the OS. An additional 9.75 GN is required.”

My Sur installation stopped half way, the progress bar merely showing 40%, i got scared as it was almost 3 hrs by then, called up Apple Customer service, as advised I restarted my MacBook Air ny pressing the start button for 10 sec, and phew the Mac restarted with new Sur OS, i was quite Happy with the resolution and the Sur design 😁
It says I need an additional 30GB to install it. I don’t have that much memory, what should I do? I don’t want to delete the saves on my games if i want to make more space

This is not compatible with the new 2020 iMac. I'll just have to wait until the official release from Apple so I can download Big Sur on my new iMac.

You don't need to upgrade to Catalina just download your big sur!!!!
