After I downloaded mac os catalina on the appstore, it says an error occurred while installing the updates…and it won’t show install mac OS Catalina as an app😔… Please help
Way too many steps. If you've been using sucky OS 11 for far too long do the following if you have an external hard drive with time machine. 1- 1st download Catalina 2- Restart the computer, 3- Hold Cmd R 4- Select Disk Utility 5- Erase HD 6- Restart hold Cmd R again 7- Install Catalina 8- Then when prompted to do the mac migration, restore from Time Machine from most recent. This will get you all files and desktop back, no need to drag folders, create a boot disk or any of that. Easy like Sunday morning.

So, I’ve completed the transition successfully but now I’d like to restore what I backed up on an external hard drive prior to transition, do I have to worry about Big Sur coming back when I restore? Probably a dumb question but, thx in advance

@@wishsuharitdamrong1674 It was really iffy as long as your boot up is on the flash drive then I would keep trying to restart to get to that screen and see if it comes up for you, know this isn’t much help but I don’t know much about it and it’s been a bit since I’ve done it. Best of luck!

My terminal doesn’t finish with a “done”, it just finished with “MacBook-Pro:~ user$” and displays a cursor where the “done” should be. Do I need to type “done” myself? Or will the terminal display “done” when it’s finished?
I just found this and mine does the same. Typically if you see the prompt return to showing your username, then it has completed the action. But, every tutorial that I've seen on this says that Terminal will say "done". What did you end up doing? Wait it out?

I have a music studio and have specific requirements: - Connection of three monitors (screens) - M1 has only 1 screen (or 2) - Plugins of many companies DO NOT work on M1. - Programs are also not installed on M1. - It is not possible to connect an "External" video processor. - There is no way to install 32 / 64GB of Memory. - 2 Thunderbolt vs. Four! - the Big Sur system is not yet suitable for Stable work with Music. I hope I was able to answer you as much as possible.

You can go to the New version and return to the one (which is installed at the factory) There are no other options! I researched this issue thoroughly. I turned to both Apple Support and the professional "hackers" who know everything about the Mac for help. I had Catalina from the factory (the most recent) It works perfect! I am very pleased with all the New products and features. Before that, I worked only for Windows for 18 years.

All you have to do is go to the apple downloads website where they store some old softwares and get the photos thingy
