  • During the warm up the coffee machine Elizabeth brings the temperature of the coffee boiler above the temperature setpoint. 4:46 in this case the coffee boiler probe is at 120°C, but the temperature erogated to the coffee is around 90°C.
This is necessary to heat faster the metal part of the coffee boiler.
We suggest to proceed always with a short purge 5:09 with button 1 and button 2 (purge mode) in order to rinse the coffee group.
But even if the purge is not done the temperature indicated on the display doesn’t influence the temperature of the extraction as the first brewed coffee is always colder than the second one.
It means that the machine needs a higher temperature of the water in order to compensate the temperature of the group which has not reached the correct temperature yet.
The temperature for the extraction is quite accurate.
We suggest to use the coffee machine at 95°C of temperature for a few days, after at 92°C of temperature for some other days in order to understand your personal taste.
Once you turn on your coffee machine the temperature shown on the display is 10°C less then the value measured by the probe.
This number is managed by the PID in the value EC.
The temperature of the water is going to heat 10°more(than the setpoint) in order to harmonize the temperature of the water used for the coffee with the temperature indicated on the display.

Thank you for explaning this heat up logic. I have lelit victoria, looks it have the same start process. I thought it is kind of problem with my machine and now i know this is ok.

Nice vid, I have V3 Elizabeth, I wonder if BC value relates to the warm-up temperature & EC value to the brew head temperature offset

    • @lelitinsider2977
      @lelitinsider2977  2 года назад +1

      - Bc value: 30 (value within which the pid works in the coffee boiler)
      - Ec value: 10 (in the coffee I will heat 10° more than the value read by the probe)

Hi! Thank you alot!!! Im confused little bit, can you please explain, if we set EC - 10 why brew boiler must be always above 100c ? Isnt it bad? Calcium builds up much faster.. And if I brew at 92c the boiler always gonna be 102c? I thought in beggining temp overshoots and as I read somewere - water to brew boiler goes from steam boiler, so brew boiler stays at targeted temp? How it works??
    Thanks in advance!

Hi I'm considering Elizabeth and MaraX, may I know which one has more stable temperature? if i make like 4 cups each time

you can find better temperature stability in elizabeth, it is a dual boiler, Marax is an heat exchanger.

I understand that there is an offset value. However the end result is not quite accurate. On the machine you set the brew temp to be 95C ,but the scace measures almost 91.8 even after the normal duration of an espresso pull (30 seconds) check at 6:04

I noticed that at 4:43 sec of the video when the machine is ready after 10 minutes, the scase temperature is 57,4 degrees celcious, very low for brewing coffee and you do a purge pressing 1 and 2 buttons for the scase temp to get higher but still not enough for brewing coffee. After that you put the portafilter and brew water and it goes to about 92 degrees after 20-30secs.That means that I will have to waste water for 30 seconds before having the right temp for putting the portafilter with coffee and brew coffee???

@@ioannispriftis5641 In KATE PID video, he says kate and elizabeth are the same brew group so I checked out this video and stumbled upon your question.I am working on my shots with Kate for a days and PID settings are really hard to set correctly. I wouldn't care much for temp read here, but mainly trust the aroma in the cup. Always delivers bitter shots. Current settings kp=1 kd=1 EC=5, brew temp 91/92 and no bitterness. But it makes worse output than anita (with the same grinder), I have at my countertop both of them. Probably IMS basket affects, but in anyway it is hard to keep in line... I will make a video regarding dialing in Kate, perhaps in a week or two. see you later. Note: he even tells the order of the probes wrong in this video... on the screen: first line is brew second line is steam...

What I also don't understand is the advertised fast warmup time. When I start pulling a shot after 10 minutes I would pull a shot with >100°C? If someone tells me that the warmup time is 10 minutes my expectation would be to be able to pull a shot with the target temperature after 10 minutes after cold start. Am I misunderstanding/missing somewhing? Really looking forward to your answer @lelit, because I am thinking about getting this machine but I want to first understand what I can expect. Thank you!

I have a PL92T v3. I continue to get moisture fogging up the pressure dial (and sometimes the LCC window). I've taken it back to the company I bought it from three times and they finally replaced the pressure gauge - but it's still happening. This occurred from new (about 8 months ago). What do you think is going on? I'm not very happy as I think the machine may not last as long if it keeps getting moisture inside. Thank you.
