Thanks for the explanation. I was wondering why my Elizabeth was getting so hot on first warmup. Then I understood it was something like what you describe since purging makes the temperature drop really fast from 100+ back to the 94° I have set. This video just explained what I was trying to understand on my own. 👍

First, thanks for all the explanations on the channel.
Second, I have a lelitl pl92t and recently I noticed that the water flow is no longer the same. I have approximately 3 ml/s flow (without portafilter and with a clean shower screen). Isn't that too little? I have pressure, but because of the lower water flow, it seems to reach higher more slowly. What would be the normal flow of water? And what should I do in this case? Thank you❤

    Grazie!

Hi, thanks a lot for all the great videos on the PL92. Would you be able to recommend settings for using Italian coffees like Passalacqua, Kenon, Sant Eustachio, etc ? Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks a lot.

It very difficuld without testing the coffee, try 92°and 95° and ceck what is better for you!

Hi, thanks a lot for the advice, do you recommend heating the portafilter and running water through it before after 10 minutes of warming up before brewing the first shot ?

    • @lelitinsider2977
      @lelitinsider2977  5 месяцев назад

yes, as you can see n the video, after the warm up a purge some water is necessary to stabilize the water temperature @@TM-ni9jc (or if you have time wait 5 minutes more)

So, the PID doesn't work? At what temperature is coffee extracted?
When you extract the coffee at 95ºC, when you finish and ok appears again, it is 110ºC
    It's not stable for me

      @@lelitinsider2977 Thank you
      so
Although the coffee boiler is at 120º C after startup, during extraction the water comes out at approximately 95ºC
Now I wait 5 more minutes just in case

At first I was also not sure how to read the high or low temperature. After one year of using the machine and watching this video (+ the one that has been linked in the prior answer from Lelitinsider) now I understood the following:
      - The shown temperature is truly 10°C higher because of the offset parameter which is set on 10°C per default and it's from the boiler, not from the brew head
      - No matter what the (boiler) temperature shows, as long as the machine says "OK" and the temperature doesn't flash, the PID will take care to reach the target temperature you want to achive
      - If you take your shot after 10 minutes and after flushing once, with target temperature 95°C you will start around 91°C brew head temperature and after 10s climb above 93°C and higher. Some may find this suboptimal but therefore, waiting another amount of minutes improves that issue
      - The longer you let your machine on, the better the temperature consistency will be up to a certain limit (meaning, it will start with a brewing temperature closer to the target temperature and reaching the target earlier)
      - However, if you let your machine on too long, during brewing you may overshoot a bit in the end (e.g. at target 95°C, you may reach 96°C after 20s and higher). This could imply some tweaking with the parameters, depending on your scenario how you use it.
Not sure if I described or understood everything correctly but I can say I went through a learning curve and I still keep learning :)
